This is a great interview. Dr. Ben Carson tells how his mom pushed him to better himself and then talks about why he spoke the truth in front of the president.

Do you think that Chris Matthews will get more than a tingle up his leg when he hears this magnificent speach.

I listened to Dr. Carson's speech at the Prayer Breakfast. It was a great speech. This man has a lot of common sense and moral fiber. I would like to know more about him and hear more of his common sense solutions. I feel that he is someone that I could vote for as President. I also believe that he could be a good role model for many young people especially black youth in our country today.

Very impressive speach as well as interview with Hannerty. You are exactly what we need to run our country and unite our country again. DR. CARSON FOR PRESIDENT!!!!

So encouraging to anyone on the lookout for a plainspeaking, common sense representative of our basic American values. Part of his power was in his evident goodness and undeniable authority as one who is speaking the truth. A few years ago Mother Theresa similarly rocked this prayer event when she took a stand against abortions, but Dr.Carson didn't just speak against issues, but actually offered solutions, and we are looking for solutions. Whether or not he becomes a presidential candidate, the amazing positive response to his surfacing should put all other contenders, government officials on alert.

Yeah Ben. Where were you when the Drs were speaking FOR OBAMACARE? Where you been Ben.

TeaPartyReaganConservative

Dr. Carson is a true American Patriot, whose words are of Truth, Righteousness, and Courage. All of which Obama sat bitterly hating every word Dr. Carson spoke, because he hates America, he hates Freedom and Liberty, he hates the U.S. Constitution for We the People- ie; He, Obama, hates We the People.

Why- because he is not an American. He's an anti-American / liberal Socialist Marxist Islamist, whose agenda is the internal destruction of America, our Free Market Capitalist system of Economy, our U.S. Constitution / Law of the Land, our Freedom and Liberty, our Democracy, our Independence as a Nation, via our massive natural resources of energy for which his why he has shut down as many coal, oil, and gas production and supply companies as he legally can, trying to replace it with ineffective, unfeasibly applied wind and solar BS, aka Obama and the left's green energy ruse.. As well as Dr. Carson stated issue with our Education system- Obama has federally mandated to replace with dumb down minimal academic courses and subversive propaganda.

And finally our U.S. Military, for which has been the one thing that has kept the tyrannical evil powers in the world from succeeding in exerting their control over the Western Free World and all free people of the world. Why do you think Obama has ordered the rapid reduction of our U.S. Military, it's personnel, equipment, arsenal, it's ability to fight and wage war on 2 or 3 fronts at once. And the most egregious of all, his order to destroy half of our U.S. nuclear deterrent arsenal/warheads, and it's delivery systems, ie; submarines, land based ICBM missiles and sites, etc..

This is what Obama meant when he said to Putin, he will have more flexibility after his re-election- ie; the impotency of America, via the weight and burden of massive fiscal and financial debt, and the dissolving of our U.S. Military to the point of just being a hollow shell of illusion of a hollow superpower, which is Obama's #1 goal.

This is what parasites-(in this case, political and social parasites) do to a healthy whole body, it destroys it from the inside- eating away til there's nothing is left but the shell.

What a brilliant mind. I remember my mother in the 1980s forcing me to watch an interview with Dr. Carson when I was younger. I remember thinking back then how I didn't think he was relative to me. Now he's an inspiration to me. He's an impressive man.

That's correct, We the People have to pick our nominee, not the ol' establishment, that's where we've been going wrong for a long time. Remember "if it's to be, it's up to me".

The problem is that "logic and common sense" are in direct opposition to "power and control. Washington, DC is not about logic and common sense, it is about power and control. Until we as a people start electing politicians that are more about logic and common sense than about power and control, nothing is going to change.

We also have a President that believes America should pay for the sins of colonialism. A President, who (in my opinion and based upon his belief), doesn't want to see America thrive and prosper.

I guess I am here to say temper your excitement because we have been down this road before. I surely understand the thirst people have for leadership, it seems like we have a new candidate every week. But he too will disappoint in some way that is the pattern. Today people don't seem to tolerate differing viewpoints, so when some view of his is off the mark his star will also fall.

JohnCraven

NoTrustInMen, there are two videos on YouTube from 20 years ago which show Dr. Carson as he was 20 years ago and his mother too - they are Ben Carson Part 1 and Ben Carson Part 2 - easily found and beautifully done and what you see in those videos is what you saw on Hannity and what you saw at the National Prayer Breakfast in front of Nero Obama.

After you watch these videos which are roughly 10 minutes each, then come back and say "temper your excitement" if you can.

I understand your point. But I view him as someone from whom we can learn a lot. His experiences are completely different from my own yet I can identify with his basic beliefs. I don't think he is the next in line to be our new great leader. I think it is going to take all of us working together with our own unique ideas and experiences. Of course he is not perfect. None of us are. Read his book, he flat out admits his shortcomings. It isn't about him so much as it is his beliefs, his faith, his ideals, and his courage to stand up for them no matter who is listening or sitting right next to him. It is something that I know I have been praying for to see again in my country. I think this has given us a renewal of hope this weekend. Something I think we have all been in need of over the last few months.

This man is such an inspiration and can be for so many that need to be inspired and shown that they dont have to be stuck in misery, he offers so much.

The fastest way to deflate a hero is in politics, especially in the current climate. The ideological trenches are just too deep and the media, Hanity included demonizes those who do not agree with them. Yes I have heard of him for years. Loved his debate with Richard Dawkins.

So sorry, not even my intention. Not even thinking of you, but meant to say we must be careful. It did not come out that way, please excuse my deficiencies in this area. In my years I have heard it so many, many, times but am meet with disappointment. I have seen people so disheartened time after time after time and things continue to get worse and we fall after another man. Christ is the only one I will put my trust in and in God's word as Psalms 146:3 - Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

I will now shut up.

Sir respectfully I am not swayed by every person that comes along. You don't know me and to imply that I do not follow Scripture or am committing heresy by adding to His Word is insulting and a personal attack. I am not some wishy washy person that chases after every new silver tonuged person that says something I like. You have completely ignored my point that God can use his people anywhere to reach the lost for Him (the great commission that you keep refering to as if I know nothing of it) and yes he tells them where to go and he directs their steps individually! Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6. You think God doesn't give us special gifts, talents, and interests that we are supposed to use and develop for his service? I Corinthians 12 speaks of that very thing. And yes politics is an interest that he can use!

No not all men who claim to be called by God have. However, I don't think Glenn Beck knows anymore than you do the personal relationship between God and another true believer (not a Mormon, they have added to thd Word of God.) Admiring someone for their courage to speak the truth is not following man blindly. You seem to want to hold flawed imperfect people to a standard of impossible perfection. Guess we shouldn't attend church either because the pastor is a man leading us.

"Far to many Christian have been lured as Satan tried to do to jesus, into politics, a distraction from the real important work of saving lives." - I take real issue with you here. Satan never tempted Jesus into politics. And I am sorry it is Jesus who saves not you or anyone else. All we can do is lead others to Him.

At this point we are at cross purposes and I am done with this conversation.

2 Timothy 3:16, 17 says All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

It is scripture that makes us fully equipped for every good work. Our calling can be found at Matthew 28:19, 20.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Our calling from Jesus himself, do we need any other? It would be easy to say God called me for this or that but scripture is clear what our commission is and no further calling is necessary to the end of the age.

Sure some may believe that God has called them, they have some overwhelming personal desire to do this or that. Would you believe that God called Barak Obama to serve? Glen Beck said God would chose who he wanted as President, do you believe he did? George Bush said he was called and was at one time the darling of the Christian right. What happened?

Talk is easy, that is why we have scripture. If you stick to scripture then you are not swayed by every person who claims to have been called by God. And the light of scripture is quite revealing and uncompromising (Hebrews 4:12). Revelation 22:18 says "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book."

This protects you from following anyone who claims to have had a revelation from God.

The Bible prophesied that things will go from bad to worse (2 Timothy 3:13). That Satan would mislead the entire world (Revelation 12:9), even as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14, 15).

So if any man said he was called by God to run for President then 1 John 4:1 tells us to test it. In light of scripture we already know what the true calling is.

As I mentioned Glen Beck said God wanted Romney to win (number one how did he know) and Pat Robertson said God told him Romney would win (I wonder if he recorded the conversation), of course now he said he thought he heard from God.

What does this tell you about these folks according to scripture? If you stick to scripture then you are not swayed by every person who claims to have been called by God or talked to God.

I don't completely agree with you because if I did that would be saying that George Washington followed himself instead of the Lord when he accepted the nomination for president. He went in reluctantly. From what i know about him I believe he sought God's will. How about Sarah Palin or Ronald Reagan? People aren't perfect we all make mistakes wherever he calls us to and the best of us can get caught up in the wrong things. I can't speak to others calls only my own and I don't presume to know His complete will for others, but can God not use His people in politics to bring people to him? It is dangerous but so was the lion's den and look how he provided for Daniel. He set David up to be king from whose lineage our Savior came. Why he has even used tax collectors for the furtherence of His kingdom. I do acknowledge politics is a viper pit especially in today's culture, but that doesn't mean everyone should stay and reach only those in their comfort zone if God tells them to act. I am not clamoring for him to throw his hat into the ring, I was simply pointing out that it is between Dr. Carson and God. He seems to be cautious man of faith who will seek out and follow the Lord. If he does enter the political arena, he will have my prayers. I know you just want is best for Dr. Carson and for people to come to accept Christ too as do I.

I don't believe God calls anyone to politics. It is not his will. 1 Timothy 2:4 tells us what God's will is. Far to many Christian have been lured as Satan tried to do to jesus, into politics, a distraction from the real important work of saving lives. So it sounds like many voices are already pushing him, but we shall see.

I agree. I don't think he will be getting into politics unless he feels that is God's call for him. And if it is I will be praying for his protection from those vultures.

This man is an inspiration across the board. My son's loved his speech enough to share it with their friends on Facebook and give the link to a couple of their teachers. As a parent, I am inspired by the parenting skills that Dr. Carson's mother demonstrated toward her son's. Equally impressive is that their mother went to college and earned herself a doctorate degree. Great family story that inspires my family.
