Full Rick Perry interview with Glenn Beck

Rick Perry will be announcing later this morning a plan to uproot all three branches of government, and went on the Glenn Beck Show to discuss some of it. A few of the items mentioned on the show that he is going to recommend is ending lifetime appointments for federal judges, placing a moratorium on new regulations since 2008 and cutting the pay of Congress in half until they balance the budget. Wow, those sound really good!

Beck also brought up Jesus Diaz, the border agent that has been arrested and jailed for what appears was nothing more than Diaz doing his job. The short end of it is that Rick Perry said he will check into it and see if there is anything he can do to help Diaz.

“Members of Congress have the only job in the country whose occupants can set their own salary without regard to performance, profit, or economic climate”. I love that Perry mentioned cutting their salary, but how is he going to do that when its congress themselves that have to vote for it.

The only way, the Voters must push the issue, the power of the vote is what congressional members fear the most…
A Congressman or Senator without votes is a “Former” Senator/Congressman.

i actually don’t think that congress is afraid of the voters. they have not responded to us for a few years now. we have spent many years allowing “them” to make decisions (because we trusted them and never fact checked them)so they have become too powerful. they really think we are stupid, because we are plain spoken, not educated at the elitest universities. i say bullbleep. congress does not care about us….we must make them care, and that is why we need to throw them out.

Look at Rangel, look at his smirk, he IS Not afraid of the voters because he knows he has them fooled. He has played them for decades..
The Voters have the power, but like you said they (politicians) think we are stupid, and they are right unfortunately.
The only way to change that is to educate the voter. To, as you say, throw them out…

Lowlifes like Rangel doesn’t have his constituents fooled. He owns ‘em. His district is pretty much a population of welfare collecters and Rangel’s job is to keep the cash flow into their pockets as well as other taxpayer paid goodies. And for that they vote “properly” on election day.

I have to agree Yazz55…so we start taking the lollipops away from those too lazy to do anything but take ours. We begin with block grants to states…and we cut spending, cut more and more…ween those people without being heartless…and if Government wants to have the time off…then they will cut their pay…we start with more than 5% as Boehner did…we get more and more…Also…I know Governor…he is that pit bull he was when he came to Austin…and he will use that bully pulpit every day sitting and pounding it into congress if he has to…he won’t be out on the gulf course or wearing Air Force One out. He will work at what he proposes and he will jump smack dab in the middle of it too.

If the good people engaged in these campaigns stay emotionally disconnected to the candidates and stay focused on that which will benefit the nation we would all be better off. Rick Perry is far from the best spokesperson, has a personality that doesn’t invoke confidence nor as compelling as others but I do believe the country will be far better off under his leadership. As he rolls out his positions and the means to achieve his agenda, he is clear that our country and our security is paramount over his personal desire to win a popularity contest.

this true. glenn is not helping with his holier than than thou crap concerning politicians. they all have warts! just glenn. gb is one of my favorite people. however, for me, he needs to lighten up on worrying about the dots, and crossed ts.
perry is strong enough on the inside to do a turn good job as president. he is not particularly afraid of the arrows, and/or bullets, and one thing is have seen in him that i had never noticed: he is not afraid to say i was not prepared, i was wrong, i was a disappointment, i made a mistake, i will strive to do better. and he is able to make fun of himself, laugh, and smile, make goofy faces…..just like a regular folk. i know to some on the board being kinda folksie is not a plus but it is with me….he is a politician cut from a different piece of cloth. there is a humbleness that we have not seen with others except possibly herman.

Like you, I think Rick Perry is the genuine article…and he is a bit “folksy” in a Reagan sort of way…..I’ve heard him speak and he can grab the audience.. .he’s enthuiastic, apassionate patriot, an Aggie, and the fact he’s not a lawyer nor supported by Karl Rove are positives in my book.

I know Perry will take up the cause…he has done it! He will do er again…he says…he is on it…and won’t back off. Palin…yeah…Governor and Sarah are pretty good together…brought the house down in Houston…Will governor offer her a position? Would not surprise me? Does she want one? That Sarah only knows…she said she did not want to get into the competition…she has children…Governors is grown…and Governor…cares not what the press has to say…he does not sit and watch for the polls…he goes out and does the job….and when the smears come…ok…they never really stick. He handles them. Popular…he still is in Texas!

How about a ban for each member of Congress and their staff from accepting a position as a lobbyist or at a minimum a noncompete for at least four years?
How about moving some functions of government out of the DC area, perhaps move the Dept. of Agriculture to flyover country? The unemployment rate, housing market, averge income and other key ecomonic metrics are way out of balance when you compare DC to the rest of the country.

Conservatives are getting duped again. They are trying to divide up the base among Perry, Cain, and Newt to enable Romney to win. It’s that simple. We can’t let them do this otherwise we will wind up with Romney. If we can get behind one person or at least resolve not to allow Romney to win Iowa, then after Iowa I pledge I will support the conservative winner to the hilt the rest of the way no matter if it’s Perry, Cain or Gingrich. Who is willing to take this pledge? Anybody but Romney first (excluding Ron Paul), then Anybody but Obama.

The level of corruption in our country is starting to resemble Nigeria or a banana republic.
Consider also what just happened in a federal court in Texas. In this case, As described at http://LawInjustice.com , a Dallas business owner was involved in a civil dispute and paid millions of dollars to lawyers, and when he objected to additional fees after settling the case, they had a “friendly” judge, appointed by President Clinton, seize all of his possessions, without any notice or hearing, and essentially ordered him under “house arrest” as an involuntary servant to the lawyers and denied a jury trial. The business owner has been under this “servant” order for 10 months and is prohibited from owning any possessions, prohibited from working, etc..

Looks bad on the outside, hell on the inside. A federal judge in Ft Worth, seized all my commercial property,saying it was illegal. Then, on his order sold it for about .001 cent to the dollar. I was found innocent, in 6 months, and peniless. The judge retired to his fabulous estate, within a week. When I counter sued, I was asked for a million to recover my share in 40 million. U got that much in bank? Good old DEMs select life time judges like this, who overrule state law anytime they wish. Perry has seen this, who supports him. I do, if I have to write in.

Rick Perry talks a lot about shutting down the border and putting more border patrol alongside the border but to me, he came a bit missing when the whole Jesus Diaz story came about. As a governor, I expected a lot from him to protect his border patrol. Now he says he is going to go and look into it?!! He is the CIC for Texas and he should have been there arguing Diaz’s case.
Mr Perry, who knows you might be our President twelve months down the road, Why don’t you stand for our border patrol?

Perry really can’t do much in the Diaz case because it is entirely on the Federal level. About all he can really do is “bend a few ears”, the case is completely beyond Perry’s jurisdiction and authority as a State official.

Border Patrol is Federal. yeah,, we got Texas border patrol, I have a TBP friend who spent 2 years in Mex jail, before DEM governor finally wrote letter. I guess you know more Texas law, than a 12 year governor? I wrote to Perry about an injustice, he replied in less than 24 hrs. He was already running for POTUS. Still, his staff quoted line and chapter, why they couldn’t help me. The Fed is stealing $300 a month from me, for about a year. I have reported to every possible Fed agency, most do not even reply. And, those who do, say, sorry. Let the man run his campaign. Listen, then vote. If you want another form of government, fine, there seems to be several alternatives on the ballot..

Pundit, you’re sure pessimistic about Republicans…..why??…..turn it around and look at it this way……there are 435 Congressmen, with about 270 Republicans; there are 100 Senators, with about 46 Republicans…..There are about 200 million citizens eligible to vote…….approximately 33% Democrat, 33% Republican, & 34% Independents…..now to get this reform in place, the 100million must vote in about 280 Republican Conservative Congressmen, and 60 Senators to pass the bill with a veto proof majority…..
it would be the single most important event since the Revolution if 200 million voters voted out all those deadbeats; the lobbyists would go skulking home; the guys looking for a handout would have to thumb a ride home.

Why don’t you go look for Diaz wife’s interview with Beck last week (its on the Right Scoop) where she says he did nothing?…go find the “Free Agent Diaz” page on Facebook, the group working on helping him, ask what Rick Perry told them.
Perry is well aware of this, he’s never offered any help whatsoever…but now he’ll pretend on Glenn Beck that he’ll look into it…he already has, he just doesn’t care
