This is a pretty good interview, but to be honest, I’m still recovering from that horrible debate that turned my mind into mush. So here’s the interview without any commentary, not that it needs it:

LOL. I didn’t think it was so bad. Actually, I got alot more info than from that bread and circus last Thursday featuring Newt running around the stage with John King’s bloody, severed head in the clutches of his teeth, thumping his chest while the crowd screamed for more news people to be fed to the lions…..how long can that last? Everyone is addicted to the adreneline rushes of last week. Not me, slow and steady……Santorum was superb. I’m tiring of Newt’s glib, obscure factoid references about the 70′s & 80′s, that would secure him a trival pursuit or jeopardy championship, Mitt’s hand in the pocket, yacht catalogue poses, and Ron Paul’s Mr. Magoo impersonation- they are all becoming like cartoon characters to me. lol, I guess this is how it goes. I pick Rick!! But mostly, I want Obama GONE, his rotten marxism completey repealed and a reasonable resoration of sanity to be acheived. That will be a good start!

    • Anonymous

Regarding the 70′s and 80′s- you should have been there. The country was rotting under the stench of Watergate and the VN war which dragged on and on. Conservatism had just been rejected by the youth who were moving into the work force. Then Jimmy Carter became president and, for a few months, we all thought things would go back to normal, the way they were when Kennedy was in office and we were very young.

Things did not improve and the foul mood in this country, the “something is definitely wrong with this system of government” feeling just got worse. The division among the people of this country was as strongly felt as today but it did not have a racial element.

Reagan was elected in 1980 and nobody gave him a chance. I mean, nobody who wasn’t in congress or on TV.

Then something so minor, so insignificant in the scale of history, happened in 84. The underdog USA hockey team not expected to do anything in the Olympics, beat the Russians. It was like a miracle occurred when nobody expected it. I’m not kidding, You could feel a wave on patriotism sweep over the land like an earthquake. Overnight the chant “USA USA USA” was heard everywhere. Flags were everywhere, people were smiling, talking to each other. I was light walking out of a disco and finding that the sun had come up after ten years of dancing in the dark

The economy began to improve suddenly and dramatically in 1986 and so did the mood and the pride of this country. The late 80′s and the 90 were the most stupendous boom age I could ever imagine and I am glad I got to live through those years.

But Newt was there in the early 80′s and he was a believer. Newt was right in the middle of thing in the 90′s and as an average American, it was pretty hard to like him but impossible to find fault with his results and his values.

Newt speaks a lot about what happened in those distant times and I’d give a left nut to have ‘em back.

      • Anonymous

I’ve wondered how much my perception of Newt is colored by the unremitting bad press he received during that era. I also lived through those times but I was not as informed as I am now and didn’t recognize the media bias or the radicalism in the Democratic party (especially).

        • Anonymous

As Viet Nam vet, I was still pretty conflicted about what the Republicans had done abandoning the troops in the filed and the men who died there believing in their country. There was a lot of skepticim in the younger working groups about “republicans” in general. Thinking about it now, it was very similar. There were those of us had had no doubt at all about the principles of this country, but little understanding about how to keep those ideas alive. We did not understand how critical religion was in understanding the basic principles nor had we any appreciation of history before WW2.

But we had seen the economy turn around and believed that it would never end. We had seen the Russians crawl and scurry away like rats when the bulldozers gobbled up the bricks in the Berlin wall. These were people who been march from school rooms to learn to lay on the side of the football stadium during a nuclear blast. These were people who’d never seen a news cast that didn’t lead with some new atrocity perpetrated by the communists and that continues our entire lives.- By 1992, we seen the good life, daylight, and we were living it and it was good.

Gingrich never came across as sincere, but we were a much tougher and more confident audience in 1996. We just assumed, that, like the communist empire had fallen, the Democrats were headed to the waste bin of history too.

          We were wrong.

          • Mary O

Excellent comment: heartfelt and true. I especially liked your bit about the importance of religion.

          • Anonymous

One of the biggest regrets of my life is that I did nothing to inform myself even when my gut was telling me something was wrong – about 30 years ago. My husband was a Viet Nam vet and he felt that the government had betrayed them – his words were that the troops were out on a limb and the government was down below with a chain saw.
It wasn’t until I learned of the UN interference in every conflict we have been involved with since WWII that I began to understand.
And I agree with Mary O – and yourself – about the importance of religion in our country’s founding. I think it was Adams or Madison that said our form of government was suitable for only a moral and religious society.

Will he speak about what happened in the times that our last President Tortured and Spied on suspects he wound up having to free, including American citizens?

        • Anonymous

you mean like the hit list Obama has created WITHOUT any oversight? What specific torture do you mean?

        • Anonymous

which american citizens were tortured? Where is the evidence that American citizens were tortured? Which terror suspects did he “have” to let free? Who was spied on? Facts help.

      • http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe

I was there too, right in the trenches. Watergate, was a obvious ploy by the DNC to upseat a very popular president, who had got us out of the Kennedy nightmare, Viet Nam. Two green reporters beating the GOP,and the left press, get real. The media then pushed the dope, so the next generation was ruined. Doped out. Jimmy Carter was a huge error fought tooth and nail, by the GOP. RR was the reason the USA, got out of the gutter, JFK created. He brought back pride in the USA, not some silly game. RR policies, hated by the press, brought us out of the deep economy, the liberals had put us in. Only A dim wit, could think of the 20% inflation as good times. 8 years of RR, were the good times. Then the USA tipped left again, driving us into this mess, they avoid calling a depression. There were some pretty good GOP, then, too, and RR led us up, but not out. We have now slipped into a deep canyon, labeled Obamaville. It is going to take a lot more than just changing history, to get us out, Obama has got the entire USA government, hard at work, trying to lie his way into 4 more years. If Ob appointed you, you must now lie, to counter every conservative truth. Entrenched traitors are hard to dig out.

Newt has a tendency to win the battle and then forget about the war. js. I’ll get behind him if he is the nominee, but I’ll be damned if I am crowning ANYBODY king. They all need to work alot harder so that we get all of this ironed out and crystal clear. Conservatism must be clearly defined and people MUST be persuaded- it’s still coming across as a bit mushy to the average guy on the street. The longer this goes on the more clearly Conservatism is defined, defended and more likely to win the day.

    • Anonymous

Everyone has said that Santorum has won the last two…now probably three, debates. Yet it hasn’t translated into votes for some reason. The only reason I can think of it was because Newt was basically at home in SC (like Romney in NH) and because of his two times of crushing the media. People love to see a candidate stand up to the media and necessarily bend to their will of stupid or race baited questions.

I hope RS does well in FL though even though I believe he isn’t planning on winning. I just hope the media doesn’t try and end it after whomever wins FL which I’m sure they’ll try and do.

So called “Conservative” Governor Chris Christie just appointed a gay judge to the Supreme Court in NJ. So much for his conservative credentials! I want to see Romney defend this like Christie has defended him.

Sarah pretty much told everyone to do the opposite of what the elites say. It’s no wonder she is so popular.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1831223973 Brian Burlingame

omg a gay judge?! grab your pitch forks and lets go tar and feather his ass!!!

      • Anonymous

It’s not that the judge is gay; just that the sexual orientation appears to be the most significant qualifier as opposed to credentials relating to jurisprudence.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1831223973 Brian Burlingame

Well said. I, for one, am so sick and tired of this crap coming up. The nation is in deep financial trouble and most people are stuck on gays, abortion, marriage and its “sanctity” and the rest… good grief

      • Anonymous

You want to appoint a gay judge don’t call yourself a conservative.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1831223973 Brian Burlingame

I don’t call myself one, but thank you for that astute bit of advice. If the only thing you see about a person is their sexuality then I question your legitimacy to reason soundly. Would you like it if someone used the fact that you are a woman, a mom, a christian, etc to base your employment or body of work on? I doubt it. Golden Rule my friend

As governor, Romney appointed liberal justices 75% of the time, including activists for abortion rights and same-sex marriage.

      • Anonymous

There is a gay marriage bill coming before the Democrat controlled NJ legislature and I have already called my state senator asking him not to vote for it. Does appointing this judge mean our “conservative” governor will break his pledge to the voters who elected him by signing it into law? Inquiring minds want to know. PS. I look forward to moving elsewhere at first opportunity.

How exactly does he define “embarrassing” the party?

          • Anonymous

People like Christie and Coulter because they are insulting to others, but now everyone can see they are foolish, are not who they claim to be and are no better than the Democrats who spew hatred for anyone who disagrees or gets in their way. Perhaps, if the GOP ever wakes up they will see it is themselves who have embarrassed us all.

If Palin is Popular its only because she speaks -TV, and Soccer Mommy. Newt just speaks racist and wants children to work. Those Restrictions were already fought for, for kids YO! Say you don’t like ‘Gay Judge’ TO a Gay Judge and continue, oh I love to see you continue to believe ‘every’ little thing said on your TV. Enjoy your invisible hate cage.

      • Anonymous

Palin is popular because she… what’s the term?…oh yes, she speaks truth to power. This resonates with people who are fed up with both sides and want to see America on the right course.

        • Anonymous

How true about Sarah who speaks with a loud voice for those of us who are weary of the lies we have been told by both parties. I also see her as someone who is able to stir the hearts and minds of conservatives who, as we have just heard, are a majority of Americans. I, for one, am happy she did not run for president and think she is in the right place for all of us who not only agree with her, but who lack the ability to speak to as publicly as she does.

He also appointed a muslim. He was never a conservative. That’s why he’s liked by the media and invited on their shows.

      • Anonymous

This is why as my governor when everyone wanted him to run for president I said I would not support him. He is NOT a conservative. He also did not join the lawsuit about Obamacare and he believes in collective bargaining for public employees. As I have often said having lived here my entire life northeast Republicans are NOT conservative but liberal to moderate. They THINK they are conservative because the Dems here are sooooooo far left they “look” far to the right but they are NOT, NOT, NOT!!!!!!!!

    • Anonymous

      It is a brilliant strategy:
-First he appointed a Sharia judge that NJ muslims bought with Christie campaign money.
      - That gets the gay community all worried because they know what homosexuality gets in Sharia.
      - So then Christy sells the gays a judge of their own.

      • Anonymous

It’s even more than that because gay marriage is coming before the legislature and I have already called my state senator to vote no. This is a set up by Christie, “the conservative Governor” to get his liberal agenda while calling himself a conservative.

  • Anonymous

OK, everybody knows the meme against Sarah Palin getting in the race, “Oh but if she was serious about running, she would have gotten in the race when everone else did.”

Did you hear the commentary after the debate? David Gregory and whoever the other snipes were repeated the days rumors about Romney’s campaign staff trying to get Mitch Daniels, Jeb, or Christie in the race if Romney goes down in FL.

I think she’s been shaddowing the sidelines for this very reason: to keep the Elite’s alternates on the Bench.

That double barrel Christie jab was a pre-emptive show stopper for Crispy.

She also said something tonight I haven’t heard her say before (agenda wise) about Replacing Senators- who have played “go along to get along”.

That’s big here in MS where our Republican encumbant Senator is up for re-election, a TEA party candidate qualified for the Repub primary against him. Also, the filing deadline for independent run in the general has not yet passed.

    • Anonymous

the “ruling class” (I use this term in the pejorative sense) and the libs live in fear of her. They see her as an existential threat. The amount of abuse she and her family received is unprecedented. Yet she still keeps fighting for real American values. She is a hero.

On the other hand, we have Christie…he needs to stay where he is as he has shown he is not a national level conservative. He has way too many rino tendencies and his service to Romney exposes him.

Haley Barbour Defends Gingrich’s Leadership As Speaker:

“Well of course when I was head of the RNC we won the biggest midterm majority sweep of the twentieth century in 1994. Newt was at the very very front of it and deserves enormous enormous credit for it. And they did Contract with America and they did exactly what they said. The first balanced budget in a generation. Welfore reform. Huge accomplishments in that period of time so I don’t discredit Newt a bit on what was done then,” Barbour said about Gingrich as a leader.”

Yeah Newt might have made mistakes as speaker but that shouldn’t take away from the accomplishments did as leader for the house

      Go Sarah!

  • Anonymous

I wish there was a video where Sarah would dedicate the time to the reason why she lift the Governors office. I think it would reveal the depth of corruption and cowardice and the lengths Democratic /socialists scum and their racist slave packs will go to destroy anyone who stands against them.

Furthermore it would be a case study in how well-meaning Republicans, in the same party with this outstanding human being, will back away, covering their asses with newspaper like incontinent morons , scurrying out he door, to distance themselves from any member under attack. I don’t know which is the more disgusting when the real battle starts- Democratic scum or a Republican with principle.

My point is this. Gingrich had 84 ethics complaints filed against him early in his speaker ship. All were filed by the disgusting DEMOCRATIC, communist back stabbing yellow bastards. Of these, the FBI, et, all investigated and threw out 83! It was a humbug! It was a lie at taxpayer expense to steal back what had been rightfully earned by Newt and a few loyal people and taking away from Democrats sick of cigar bearing Presidents, their whores and the welfare class.

Newt gave up the fight and paid the 300 k because the scum Democrats were breaking him personally and about to stop the some of the greatest accomplishments that had been made by any conservative in 70 years.

Where in Hell was Beohner when commie Nancy Pelosi was speaker? Was there not one issue that raised ethical issues with this slobbering bi***? Was there not one Republican in the House with the guts to file a complaint and tell he to stick it? Or were they all just covering their butts, lingering once again as second stringers as the Republican Party has done for years, too effete, too weak, too cool, too filled with themselves to actually take on responsibility for the future of this country. Or were they too proud, too principled to do whatever it takes to save the United States including destroying Pelosi personally? You expect the soldier to put his life on the line, to hesitate before firing to ensure the safety of the bearing of enemy children, but don’t take a chance with your pension. Sc*** this establishment of cowards, fops and weaklings. It sometime makes me sick to think that they named this nation’s highest honor, the *CONGRESSIONAL* Medal of Honor.

This Democratic scum must be exposed. If your neighbors and family are Democrats, they are part of it. That they don’t understand makes them not much better than the Germans who backed and voted for Hitler. They will pay, through their children, for their treachery, conscious or not.

Defeat the Democratic commie scum. Purge Boehner and elect West Speaker. Sarah I am so glad you’ve stuck around.

The Republican establishment has transformed itself into a bunch of ballerinas who dance for you and do little else. The Conservatives, like Palin, are willing to be gladiators, fight against the Progressive luge-run to Hell and get bloodied over principle.

I once hoped that the Republican establishment would welcome and embrace the Conservative movement. It seems like this will not happen because the establishment R’s are reaching into the same political cookie jar as the D’s with their “go along, get along” mindset.

The establishment R’s like Boehner and his ilk must be purged before our party turns into Progressive-Lite. We already have an Obama-Lite running. His name is Romney.

Palin had a bunch of deals lined up and they were time sensitive. This is why she is so unpopular in Alaska. She deserted her constituency to make money.

Only if she had ruined her family and stopped the governor-office from working to battle endless ethics-complaints, and after only do pro-bono speeches, make a book that was free to download, give out her uterus for everybody to look at, keep her down-child away from the public, and only do fishing and stuff so that she was not getting richer, Then and ONLY then would she get your approval..

I think the tea party took credit for a conservative swing that would have happened anyway. The electorate goes back and forth, right to left. The tea party actually cost us a couple of clear cut wins, but they were obsessed over the “establishment” candidates in several critical races and it cost us dearly. Harry Reid is in office solely because of the tea party. They need to disperse at this point. It’s become counterproductive.

          • NorCon

LOL don’t out your RINO credentials too openly, the Tea-party with Sarah was historic just friggin’ 2 years after the Messiah in office was though as untouchable. Most seats won downstream since before WW2 and huge inroads for conservatives against incument go-along-RINOs that ALSO was thought untouchable.

Just you wait beyond 2013 POTUS, the tea-party with independent are now taking over electorate activism and will stuff constitution-loving candidates into everything from school-boards to sheriffs to RNC local boards to AGs for the next 10 years.

A drift away from leftism is ensured, and that is your only valid point.

            • Anonymous

That’s fine. The tea parties seem to be more effective at the local level. Once you get to US Senate level, they seem to lose their effectiveness.

            • Anonymous

Well, I think the RINOs are the real conservatives if you consider balancing budgets and frugal govt to be conservative. The socons are associated with the big spending of the Bush years (compassionate conservatism). The socons are more about wedge issues that are never solved. We have to solve problems and balance budgets. That’s good and conservative government.

There is a whole movie that covers this, its on Netflix streaming if you want to watch it. It’s called Undefeated I think.

It really is amazing how in the tank the media is this time around.

Example, Drudge Report has had as a headline all night “NO STANDING OVATIONS…” with a picture of the audience that looks like they are half asleep. It links to an article at the National Journal titled “Gingrich Lost His Crowd-Pleasing Groove in Tampa.” It goes on to say…

Not to be outdone — and sensing perhaps his only opportunity to break through — Gingrich attempted to one-up Romney when Williams turned the question to him. “I don’t think Fidel is going to meet his maker,” Gingrich said, glancing in Romney’s direction. “I think he’s going to the other place.”

Crickets. That is, at least compared to the reception Gingrich has become accustomed to. Stymied once again, he cleared his throat and began lecturing in an abnormally lackluster tone, as if to say, “Tough crowd.”

One thing that was left out of the article is that all of the candidates were greeted with silence. Usually the Ron Paul kids are hooting and hollaring when Ron Paul speaks, but even they were silent. Why wasn’t that reported?

Ron Paul did get applause on a few occasions, and some laughs when he suggested that he had “work to do” on Newt regarding foreign policy.

Off subject but can anyone tell me where to get Romney’s tax return online:

    Interested in
    1. AMT
    2. Does he pay local tax in Switz. and Caymans until he repatriates cash

    • TxGold

Caymans is taxed same as U.S.. Haven’t heard about him having $$ in Switz.

      • Anonymous

You understand my thinking here. There are gains/income from offshore that you are allowed to pay the local rate and not pay US taxes until the cash comes back onshore. For instance, if a tax haven has a tax rate of 10% and the PIC (private investment company) or trust, they pay the ffective rate for that country until it comes back

Why not look into the medicare taxes Newt didn’t pay? Might be a little easier to pin down.

A follow up interview of Palin on Hannity after the debate last night and an endorsement of Newt by Senator Fred Thompson:

Hannity started out with her last night. I have boycotted his show altogether. Too biased.

I thought that was the best debate; I find the cheering and clapping distracting. I want to hear what people have to say. I really thought that crowd in the last Fox debate in sc was horrible and disgusting. They sounded like barbarians..yuk. I like the calmer atmosphere and after the first 10 or 15 minutes when it was just the two hot air bags attacking each other we at least got to hear what everyone’s position was on various topics.

    • Anonymous

I agree. The SC debate should have not even been televised. The raucous crowd debates should be purely local. Millions on tv are being swayed by who has the loudest crowd.

      • puma_for_life

That’s a good idea; keeping the raucous ones local only. Newt didn’t like this debate because his comments didn’t get any response and he knows, as you do, that the cheering is swaying people in his direction. Personallly, I find it depressing that people are still swayed by this type of thing. Crowd mentality.

    • Anonymous

It’s easy to say the “two hot air bags” were just the same, but Newt DID try to say he would let people go to his website. Then Mitt went on and on and on. What would you do?

I would prefer someone OTHER than either of them, but the choice is what it is.
