Geraldo and Eric Bolling argue over blaming Obama admin. for Benghazi deaths, but is Geraldo right? We investigate.

Geraldo and Eric Bolling go at it this morning over whether or not the administration watched our people die refusing to send in reinforcements. Geraldo’s basic argument is that battle wasn’t seven hours long, that the administration thought the battle was over after the first attack was complete and that’s why they didn’t send in the military. Then hours later the second battle commenced at the annex which cost the lives of our heroic former Navy SEALs, but there wasn’t enough time to send the military in to aid in the 2nd battle.

The argument gets a little heated and Bolling can’t fill in all the gaps for lack of information but disagrees based on the administration’s lies and shifting narratives as well as the fact that they had drones in the sky during the second attack.

Honestly there’s been so much information released here and there that I had to go back and watch Fox’s special where Greg Palkot laid out the timeline of events to see how it went down. What’s interesting is that Palkot seems to describe 3 different attacks instead of 2, or perhaps 1 very long attack and then a second attack later. I’ll explain:

Obviously there was the first attack that set the consulate on fire that began around 9:45PM. The CIA team with perimeter security finally made it to the Annex sometime after that, found Sean Smith’s body and fled as the perimeter could no longer be held. As they fled the consulate around 11PM they were taking heavy fire at close range as they headed for the Annex. They barely made it alive to the Annex in a mostly destroyed armored vehicle and the heavy gunfire followed them there. Palkot then switches to the looters who went into the consulate sometime after 12AM and found Stevens’ body alive. Around 1AM Stevens arrives at the hospital where he dies later.

Palkot then switches back to the Annex and says “back at the Annex the battle is on again…” and says that they were under heavy fire from AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenades. It forced those at the Annex to retreat to a building further back in the annex compound. This seem to be happening while the looters were taking Stevens to the hospital and Stevens was trying to be resuscitated, all in the 12-1AM hours.

So to sum up, it sounds like the initial attack and fighting that started around 9:45PM lasted until 1-1:30AM at the consulate.

Palkot says at 1:30AM backup from Tripoli lands in Benghazi and proceeds to the Annex and “according to reports, they were headed into an ambush”. Assuming a lack of information, Palkot then skips the next few hours and jumps to 4AM where he says another wave of attacks hit the compound. That’s when our heroic former Navy SEALs were killed.

Given all that is laid out above it seems to blow a big fat hole in Geraldo’s theory. They were taking fire at the Annex shortly after midnight. In fact it may have been that the fighting never actually stopped for any considerable duration and it was only at 4AM that heavy reinforcements showed up at the Annex to continue what had begun earlier. It seems to me based on this that Geraldo is wrong.
