They're right. It's why we're all doomed in the end. As long as religious belief is protected as a civil right then any crockpot with an idea can get a movement going. Just call it a religion and you're all set.
Islam is more akin to Nazism than it is to a religion. Thank goodness the Nazis were too dumb to call it that.
By the way, Glenn Beck is a Mormon, so he follows a “religion” that makes Scientology look halfway normal. Google it. You'll be amazed at what Mormon believe.

I don't judge people by their professed faith but rather by what they say or advocate as well as their actions. The Iman that is building this “community center” as he calls it is a very outspoken advocate of bringing Sharia Law to the US and that it should be applied here. I can't remember the book he wrote or co-authored,but I will look for it, He is also a documented believer in the world wide caliphate.Suffice it to say I don't believe that the Iman is being honest in his motives in building it where they want to.

Is there really a moderate muslim? don’t you know that they all believe in the last day. (where you either convert or your head will roll) do some research people, don’t be naive, this is not a religion, but a conquering government force… they are declaring victory.

I disagree.
Beck's position is correct, Gray's is wrong.
But the worst is that for over and hour Gray was allowed to shriek like a goosed Chris Matthews overriding any attempt to have a reasonable discussion.
The short summary is the feds have no constitutional authority.
I don't know the state constitution there, nor city law.
But sifting for after-the-fact laws is absolutely against every thing Beck says he believes in.
Beck has hurt himself badly here.
- SethConsoliver
I don't know how anything makes Scientology look normal, and I'm not aware of how the LDS church is abnormal. Maybe your vision of normal is simply too unreasonable for anyone other than your self-righteous highness to grasp.
Additionally, who will define what isn't protected in your naively ideal world? How will the right to express opinion be protected if religion isn't? I think you've got some thinking to do my friend.

Sorry, Glenn Beck, but we aren't buying your line that we're fascists for being concerned about people building a mosque at ground zero.
- jasper1321
Beck is right but beck hurt himself badly here? Im not sure what you are saying.
PS. Beck IS right. The Mosque is not something that the government should control just because I do not agree with it. Give them the power to stop one the next one might be yours.
- http://mitchblatt.com mitch
It's funny, because Glenn Beck talks about why Christianity is needed to be part of the government and schools and about how Islamic extremism is wrong.
- http://mitchblatt.com mitch
Beck: “Our religion [Christianity] has been stopped from building churches through zoning laws.”
Okay, so now we should just not let anyone build churches anywhere but let them build mosques anywhere!
- jasper1321
Freedom of Religion is covered under the constitution. It has nothing to do with civil rights. It has everything to do with the bill of rights. Take away freedom of religion and then next it might be your freedom to bear arms or freedom of speech.
Not all Muslims are crazy just like not all athiests are crazy. Muslims have jihadists and athiests have code pink.
- jasper1321
3 posts all to your self?
You are a fascists to want the government to step in. That is big Government no matter if it is on your side or not.
Beck talks about all people of faith getting together. And you are right he talks about how Islamic EXTREMISM is wrong.
Your last one is great. Is that really what you got out of it. He is saying it is wrong for them to do it to us and it would be wrong for us to do it to them. Back on the line of it is big Government no matter if it is on your side or not.

He hurt himself by letting Gray Chris Mathews all over him, callers, and other staff.
Beck's position, as best I can tell through the girly squealing, is correct.
As near as I can tell, the poor caller(s?) were correct.
I never could tell what Burguiere's position is through Gray's babbling.
Gray is just simply wrong. We (for any value of “we”) have no legitimate grounds to stop them, absent violations of building codes and such that would be applied equally to anybody else proposing to build on the property
“Equal Justice” really does have a pretty concise meaning and I endorse it absolutely.
Now, am I glad to see them build it? No. Do I think it is a good idea? No.
Do I wish the hatred was not so intense that they want to rub our noses in it? Hell yes.But we are too late, with too little.
Why have we not finished anything there, nor will we by 9/11/2011.
Now THERE is something to get angry about.

Actually, I think it was “Our religion [Church of Latter Day Saints]….
But so have Presbyterians and others.
Did he say “Our religion…” or “Our church….”?
- Jojode
If there is already a Mosque in the area then I doubt if zoning laws will apply. The Mosque will actually be two blocks away from ground zero. I think it is distasteful that they would want to do this but since it is a privately owned building then they have the right to do what they want. We should plan to build a Temple on one side of the new Mosque and a Catholic church on the other and see how handle it.

Abu Imran, leader of Sharia4Belgium – Because we are Muslims and thus we are victors, who are here to dominate. And those who cannot accept the dominance of Islam will have to leave. For my part, to hell.”
Anjem Choudary, leader of the in England banned Islam4UK, sounded very threatening in Antwerp. “We will only rest when the flag of Islam flies everywhere.”

But should the government dictate which religion can build a place of worship where?
Also should you pick people out of a group and say that they speak for the whole group. If that's the case then Christians believe we have earth quakes becuase god is mad at us and pat Robertson said so.
(This was was sarcasm. I do not believe that Christians believe that earthquakes are because god is mad.) - jasper1321
I totally agree with your position other then he hurt himself by letting gray talk. Gray hung himself when he kept talking. It showed what an ass he is. As the one caller said he showed that he was a republican above all else. You should let people talk though especially when they are full of #*(^. It only helps your point. He was talking over his wife which just proved that he was wrong.

Ban the building of any place of worship that isn't a Catholic Church. Problem solved.

- jasper1321
But since we are judging the religion based on the crazies we cant build catholic churches there either because it is close to a preschool and all Catholics are pedophiles.

- http://www.facebook.com/people/John-Boyer/602168764 John Boyer
No, I'm not judging religions based on crazies. Ban moderate, nice evangelical churches too. Ban Buddhist temples. Ban whatever Hindus have. Ban everything. Ban ban ban ban ban. Repeal and rewrite the first amendment. Ban each and every non-Catholic place of worship and no more mosque problem.
- jasper1321
Whats stopping them from then banning catholic churches? Because you like them?
- http://www.facebook.com/people/John-Boyer/602168764 John Boyer
Yes. I'm not putting this forward as a feasible possibility–the only way to obtain the situation I propose is if we become a majority Catholic nation and we amend the Constitution. I'm for limited religious liberty.
But in all seriousness, this mosque should not be built and I don't agree with Beck's standard here. Communities can determine what groups they want and what groups they don't want within limits. It seems to me to not fall under “discrimination” or “Islamophobia” or whatever to use existing zoning laws to prevent such an affront to the residents of Manhattan. The difference between blocking a Mormon Temple using zoning and blocking a super Mosque 500 feet (or was it yards?) from Ground Zero using zoning is that one is motivated by not liking Mormons the other by the utter shameless, inappropriate location of a place of worship which is connected, however tangentially or directly, to the people who blew up the towers.
- jasper1321
I really thought that your original topic was tongue n check but I guess not.
Why should we be a Catholic nation and stop all other religions? That might work fine until we have a majority that wants to be a Muslim nation or we have a majority that don't believe in religion ban it all together. You are now in the minority and can not worship as you want. This is why we have a republic not a democracy. The majority does not have the right to tell the minority what to do. This works out best for every one because the majority always becomes the minority some time.
- KeninMontana
I was raised Catholic, but I will refrain from pointing out their problems and no,I'm not referring to the child molestation issue. The problem with Islam is it is not simply a religion,it is an all encompassing philosophy, combining faith, politics, behavior and law. That is were the main issue with Islam is and the sooner this is realized the better off we will all be.
I like this for several reasons. It’s great for discussion and it’s highly entertaining. This is basically an argument over whether we use the government to keep the Mosque from being built or not. It gets pretty heated, but in an competitive funny way. In fact, they get Pat’s wife on the phone to help settle this issue.
It’ll be the best 10 minutes of your day:
