Ugh this entire exchange frustrates me! Glenn, I love you, but you are so missing the point. WE DO NOT HAVE TIME TO LOSE AT THE POLLS. I wish that he would see that it will be far easier to take back the GOP than it would ever be to get a third party (independent, whatever) elected to the highest office in the land. The reason why his argument will fail is because if only one side is doing it, the other side is guaranteed to win. The Democrats are far more loyal to their party than Republicans are to theirs. If we are the only ones willing to break party ranks and vote our values, then the Democrats will win every election until we literally are in a dictatorship - moreso than we already are today. How a man as bright as Glenn does not see this baffles me. Worse, it saddens and scares me.

Basically Glenn's argument breaks down to the fact that we shouldn't vote at all because, sorry Glenn, no politician will ever live up to your standards, and that's just a fact.
