Why is Glenn on the defensive about this? He's just starting to sound like he's hysterically backpedalling.

  • therightscoop

backpedaling? If anything he is doubling down, not backpedaling.

  • Tracie

And Glenn continues to spin. She DID laugh it off to begin with but he has conveniently picked up the audio in a later spot when she realized he was serious about the question.

There is great disagreement on what a 9/11 truther even is – - – and who the heck sits around discussing it in the first place?? What is more likely —that she felt 9/11 truthers had doubts about the official government story OR that she believed Bush and Cheney chartered some jets to fly into the towers?

As a huge fan of Beck for years, this has been a real eye-opener for me.

  • undergroundrailroad

I guess it's just perspective. Listening to it here in Dallas, the other announcers on Glenn's affiliate station KLIF (Jon-David Wells and Jeff Bolton) are backing Medina and questioning Glenn's motives. As you can hear, Mark Davis, on the #1 conservative talker in town, is behind her as well. She's disavowed the truthers about a dozen times on our local stations.

I guess I just can't understand why Glenn is spending all this air time on a small-time candidate in distant third in the polls. I went back and checked about the laughing thing in your post on Feb. 11 with the YouTube of the original interview. Sure enough, Medina just kind of laughs at the question the first time it's asked. But Glenn said she didn't.

I like it best when he's spending his energies on exposing the missteps and stupidities of socialists and our federal government.

  • Tyler

As I said before, I DO believe BECK was ALSO A VICTIM in this. Thousands of people emailed them? Still don't know WHO sent these emails.

The truth of the matter is that the people who set this all up WON. That's what's bad about this.

There's STILL a question that's YET to be answered. HOW is being a TRUTHER DANGEROUS?

I'm a truther, but am not a threat to anyone nor would I be if I ran for public office. I ALMOST wanna say “Let her lie now to get into power,” and I would ONLY say that BECAUSE of the false label that “truther” has.

It's kind of a falsity to counter another falsity even though I never believed in 2 wrongs making a right. I think she should've taken MY approach to the whole “truther” thing which is to SEPARATE “truther” from conspiracy theorist wack jobs and she DIDN'T. It was really more of a MISTAKE on her part.

I'm no longer angry at Beck for doin this because he's a man and fallible like the rest of mankind, but still wish more people would decipher whether it's more important to get someone who will HELP YOUR STATE even if they do ask questions “unbecoming” or if her “crazy cooky logic” is just too much.

I'm not from Texas, but if I was…I'd STILL vote for her DESPITE this.

  • Dave

She did laugh…but never dismissed it. She called it “interesting” referencing an accusation of her. If she thought it was so ridiculous and laugh out loud funny, why did she continue to struggle with the next 2 follow up questions? I would rather have someone honest for governor in the great state of Texas.

  • Brandon

Beck asks a question and Medina tells her truth. Don't blame Beck because she spoke her truth on his show.

Why is the Ron Paul 9/11 truth brigade blaming Beck for this?

I guess now that Medina has disavowed Ron Paul's 9/11 Truther Movement, that the posters on this forum (and all over the Internet) will now be attacking Medina for not being one of them.

What is the difference between the leftist loons truther movement and Ron Paul truther movement? Nothing, both groups are idiots.

Now run along and attack Medina for her comments this morning.

  • Tyler

I'd like to find out WHO GROUPED people who ask questions with conspiracy theorists and decided to called BOTH groups “truthers.”

THAT'S what I'D like to know. This is exactly the kind of wrongful distorting of information that screws people like Ron Paul and Debra Medina who are TRULY HONEST & CONSERVATIVE folks out of getting votes.

  • Tyler

Might I add that Ron Paul did not create the conspiracy theories and was not even close to the first person to ask questions about 9/11.

I personally think it's past because the questions weren't answered back in 2001 when they were FIRST asked and they won't be answered now.

I think a more pertinent question which more people seem to agree with me all the time and IS one that Ron Paul DID really kind of bring into the light media-wise is “Why don't we audit the Federal Reserve?”

  • Brandon

Debra Medina is not fit for office.

  • Sharon

With our without the Truther question, I was not impressed with Medina. To me she seemed somewhat arrogant and cold. For instance, Beck's first question was who are you and she immediately started rattling off her stump speech instead of talking about herself as a person. She offered no small talk, no humor…..no “personable personality” if you will. Some may argue that isn't important in a politician, but I would argue that a politician 1. needs to have keen listening comprehension skills and 2. know how to communicate effectively without putting people off.

  • Florida Radio Listener

I listened to the original Beck?Medina interview on live radio on Feb. 11 and I heard her laugh when Glenn asked her if she was a truther. Glenn since has cut the first question to her out of his postings and out of context just what serves his defence.
Gee, I really had blindly followed Glenn up until Feb. 11. Now I don't trust him anymore.

Sounded defensive to me also; he is getting a lot of heat for this. His employer, Clear Channel, has donated to Perry over the past few years. I tried to listen to his program this morning and actually heard the beginning of this passage and had to turn it off; it made me so angry. I wish he would have stuck with his investigative work.

  • Tyler

Well, I know a LOT of blind sheep out there are gonna choose the “lesser of two evils” now just because of this…but I would PREFER to think of HER…as the LESS OF THREE EVILS if you really want to see her as being “unfit” whatever your reason may be.

  • Tyler

Well…at least you're not calling her “evil” over this. You're just essentially placing a more honest and thought out opinion of her. I just hope you do the same when you look at the other candidates.

Of course, if you don't live in Texas…you're not voting for any of them as I'm not either.

I only comment so regularly on this myself because of the distortion of information and seeking to clear up the muck.

  • Tyler

Oh, but even though he has 9/11 questions, he CAN'T POSSIBLY be a “truther” because “truthers are crazy conspiracy theorists.”

Media distortion that is NOT BEING FIXED. That's all this is truly about in the long run.

  • Tyler

I wouldn't say that your problem was following Glenn, bro. He DOES TELL THE TRUTH. It's as you said…you BLINDLY followed him.

He's got an honest opinion about her that he's got off of an honest ASSUMPTION (remember what we say about people who ASSUME things) about “truthers.” So…I don't think he's FULLY to blame. Just give him PART of the blame for either not seeing or refusing to fix the distortion of info with the word “truther.”

  • ConservativeinAZ

Who is the teenage-sounding “yes man” out of screen shot?
What an annoying presence on the Glenn Beck Radio program!!!
Please get rid of him Glenn, he reinforces the perception of you two being “two little snots” on the playground. You are better than this.

    P.S. An observation/question;
Could Medina have been “laughing off” you and your “Yes man” sniveling, giggling comments regarding her and “truthers” post interview? Not sure, but that is the impression I had.

  • tmax1964

I would consider myself a 9/11 truther. If asked do I think our government had anything to do with the attack, well yes. I believe that there are some unanswered questions and some government missteps that could have led to the attack but I don't think Bush was flying the planes. I do believe that my government is capable of not telling the truth. Maybe this whole matter between Beck and Medina is a matter of opinion. I am not a whack job conspiracy nut but I think there was some government complicity if not just the incompetency that allowed the attacks on 9/11 and now at Fort Hood. I think Glenn Beck should apologize to Medina for laughing at her and clarify his position on the whole truther issue. I believe that Glenn Beck, Debra Medina, and I are on the same page concerning the 9/11 attacks we just need to stop being so divisive.

  • LG

She did laugh it off. Before he asked the “yes” or “no” question he posed a vague statement that she did laugh off. at the 39 second mark … http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8j2Ov6u9e38

  • shane22

Glenn has crossed the line here, risking his reputation, trying to discredit her as a liar who did not laugh it off when she later said she did in another interview…
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9sT9j8Vgyg

What's going on here, stinks of McCarthy type persecution. She says she's still got questions, can't definitively say the govt had nothing to do with 9/11. Who can? Who has seen all the evidence to proclaim any such thing about who knew what and when? Is that the same as proclaiming Bush killed 3000+ people and that you are now to be condemned as a nut case dangerous wacko?!?

What's wrong with Glenn that he keeps hammering her, who most embraces the ideals he espouses daily and instead supports Perry, a RINO if ever there was one? And, now to the point of desperation, shrilly risking his own reputation manufacturing lies about her?!? What is going on here?

Could it be that Beck's employer is Clear Channel CEO and Chairman Lowry
Mays who has donated almost $300,000 to Perry over the last 10 years
and Beck is paid $10 million by a Clear Channel subsidiary for his radio show?
    (Sources: Texas Ethics Commission, Forbes)

I don't know, but seems Glenn's initial task may have been a simple job of
knocking Medina off her game, before national donations started coming in
like they had for Brown in Mass. The backlash unintended consequences,
messing with a Texan candidate we like opposing the RINO Gov Perry, have
Beck now risking even his reputation in these last days before the primary
to finish the job, even to the point of blatant lying. Whatever is motivating
him now to do so he must fear it more than tarnishing his own reputation.
He could blow-up over this web he's been weaving himself into here and
even french kissing Perry still won't make his boss happy if Perry loses!

If the above is true, that his going after Medina, day-after-day, has less to
do with over zealous witch-hunting of Truthers and more to do with Boss's
orders, that's a tragic shame, both in damaging Medina and himself, too.
This is the sort of stuff that caps, or is later seen to have been the apex of,
    meteoric careers.
