Glenn Beck needs to wise up!

Beck starts spouting off on this issue before he even has all the facts. He assumes that Michelle Obama remarked on visiting her husband’s Kenyan homeland recently and thus begins by saying that they are simply trying to feed the birther fringe to keep this meme alive. But that’s simply not the case. Michelle Obama said this in August of 2008, before her husband even got the nomination from the DNC. That’s a huge piece of ‘context’ in my opinion.

Near the end of this first radio segment Stu comes up with the context. He gets the month wrong, but he’s close enough. So now that Beck knows that it happened in 2008, he tries to spin this as if someone has been sitting on this tape for 2 years and is now only releasing it….you guessed it…to feed the fringe and keep this meme going. Wrong again! In fact the clip I used has been on Youtube since Jan. 2009. There are others that are even older.

Look, as I’ve said, I’m not really a birther. Do I think Obama is honest? Heck no. But when you have a video like this, you have to be honest about it. I feel like Beck is so determined for it not to be true that he spins and spins it to frame it the way he wants.

In the segment just after what I’ve recorded below, Beck finally makes an honest argument about it. Assuming that for some reason birthers are correct and Obama was indeed born in Kenya, what do we do about it now? After all, we have much much bigger issues to deal with than where Obama was born. Yes it would violate the Constitution, but so does the recently passed gov’t health care and that affects everyone. We have much bigger issues surrounding saving our country and even if this was true and we could prove it and the Supreme Court ruled him an illegal president, we’d still be stuck with O’biden and Pelosi, which could be marginally better but that’s doubtful in my opinion.

The bottom line is that Beck needs to get his facts reasonably straight before spouting off on something he doesn’t fully understand and comes off as sounding like an idiot.
