Slaughtering the Constitution
Nancy Pelosi apparently doesn’t have the votes, but it may not matter. Using a maneuver called ‘self executing rule’ the bill will just be ‘deemed’ passed by lawmakers. Democrats are using the appropriately named ‘Slaughter’ rule (it’s the name of the Democrat who’s proposing the idea – Congresswoman Louise Slaughter) and it just happens to be slaughtering the Constitution. The defense? Republicans have done it too! True – but never on anything near as important as the biggest social bill in the past 50 years.
