Look this is just the beginning. Soon all departments will be able to reject request. But think about it it is a program that was born out of government corruption in the 60's. And in good government behavior, they put the policing powers in the government. So the government oversees the government using FOIA. How useful was FOIA anyway. They let some things out sure, but there is a lot more that doesn't leave a directors office. When they fix this, they should make FOIA a non-governmental program (business) available directly to the public as a paralegal service and not a program in the government. It should be provided by private sector employees and not feds.

Actually, Mike (who posted above) hit the bulls-eye.

Remember, the SCOTUS' ruling on campaign financing (that the current occupant harraigned in his "Statist View Of The Union" blah blah)?

This was SPECIFICALLY crafted and inserted into an utterly unrelated piece of sh#... er, I mean (no, that's what I mean. But you know what those on Crapitall Hill call it), to serve as a GUN TO THE HEAD OF EVERY SINGLE, SOLITARY BUSINESS BACKER of ANY OPPOSING CANDIDATE...
Governmental transparency is gone. GONE. The government can now SHUT YOU DOWN and not respond to you questions as to 'why' or 'what did i do to get shut down'? They can JUST DO IT! America use to be 'We the People' not 'We the Government'. What happened to Obama's transparency?

Seriously, I'm afraid. Obama is our new dictator and he has to go!

This is very bad news indeed. Not only does this make SEC held unaccountable by us, it could lead us in the near future of another financial collapse. Remember that this is the same agency that missed Bernie Madoff and some of their employees were caught looking at porn sites during work hours, on our dime. I am just disgusted! I hope there will be someone who will challenge this in court.

Easiest way to do a screenshot with windows is to press PrtScrn/SysRq button on your keyboard then open paint, click the edit tab for the drop down and select paste then you can save it. You will have to do a couple of screenshots to get an entire page if the page requires you to scroll to see the entire page.

I saved some of the text in an email :

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which can be found in Title 5 of the United States Code, section 552, was enacted in 1966 and provides that any person has the right to request access to federal agency records or information. All agencies of the United States government are required to disclose records upon receiving a written request for them, except for those records that are protected from disclosure by the nine exemptions and three exclusions of the FOIA. This right of access is enforceable in court.

What are the 9 exemtions and 3 exclusions???
