Glenn Beck’s Powerful Keynote at his last American Revival

I’ve don’t know if I’ve seen Beck cry so much as he does here, revealing some very intimate details of his personal life, including his potential blindness, as he gives a powerful keynote about who and what America really is, to end of his last American Revival. It runs an hour, but it’s very much worth watching:

Brutal honesty. Beck has a genuine way of relating his life in a fashion that people find analogous to their own.

At least for today you still have the freedom to choose. Under this administration you may lose that choice someday.

that was the first reply that i have ever made to this blog, and thank you for the warning.. how very Stalinist of you..

Wow! I'm drained. I am crying with and for this man. What a powerful message. He is speaking to each soul to stand behind God. I want to add let's hope we have the courage to stand beside Beck. This is when it becomes the test of our convictions.
How bizzare that it would be his sight when his mission is to enlighten the country. Someone out there has to have the answer/treatment to help him. Let's all pray that the cure for his medical condition comes quickly.

As someone who was there in person, I can tell you that the people that were sitting around me were just as caught up in Glenn's emotions as he was. I myself could feel the tears coming to my eyes. Incidentally, I was about 5 feet away from Glenn at one point as he made his way to the stage. You can't see me on the video. I was sitting on the ground floor in the 4th row on the left side, and if I had been on the aisle, I could have shaken his hand. Oh well. Someday I will meet him.

The trumpets are sounding. They are calling us all to stand for the one thing that is precious and dear to us all. Our freedom.

The question is whether we will hark to the call to protect that precious right that is being eaten away bit by bit and piece by piece.

To those who would disparage Glen Beck because of his emotional outburst, I say to you, when you find yourself in that place and it seems to be the darkest place you have ever been, then know there will only be one that will save you and it will be him who has blessed this man and saved him. No other can. He will do the same for you even though you mock him.

EXCELLENT: “If it (freedom) perishes… where will the rest of the world run? We are the shelter! If it perishes and horrible dictators come to the rest of the world… who stands against it, if we are gone? NO ONE!”

Is there any doubt that God has chosen Glenn to be his messenger?

I watched this with my twin girls (15). There were numerous moments that just became overcome with emotion. I was so happy to be able to share this with them and to feel the satisfaction in knowing that they “get it”. I couldn't ask for anything more. Being able to receive truth seems so easy, but we can make it so hard. I'm so grateful that my little baby girls know truth when they hear it.

    God bless you, Glenn.

Thanks again to therightscoop. Best blog on the web.

“WOODROW WILSON IS DEAD”!! I love it, who ever gave him that, that is classic!! As for the speech itself, it was very moving and what a powerful speaker Glenn is. I hope one day I have the opportunity to shake this mans hand. He is a true soldier of god, great message Glenn!!

Do you have Beck's earlier talk?? He opened the day too.

I think you meant “incite.” The other word almost sounds like you're telling him not to educate.

Funny thing about the “business model” portion of the speech. The founder of Sony once said in an interview that he would search out his own heart for each and every business dealing he made. If something didn't feel right, he wouldn't go for it. It's incredible what the spirit is capable of.

I did not see the original comment. But the Stalinist comment immediately brought this to mind: Part of what separates liberals from conservatives, and adds to the liberal ranks by the way, is that to understand conservatism you have to study. We are all (most) born with the ability to sympathize/empathize and with that we can arrive at certain political positions, but some are never able to rise above that immature natural process. They get in a rut by starting put ear;y in life attemptinf to defend these immature positions, and then they spend the rest of their life trying to justify it. The years pass and each time they feel attacked they resort to that same defensive mode, like it's justifying their own existence. Guilt. They have it, and they must spread it to ease their pain. They do good works (philanthropy) to ease their own atheistic pain.
Stalin comment- Liberals must always think in political terms, because there is no republic in their mind, and certainly not in their heart.

  • Jaynie59

For an atheist, sitting through that was pretty much par for the course for me. I thought he was a little off his game because his emotional bits seemed a little forced during this speech. He usually chokes up a lot better than that.

There is one thing that I am totally baffled by. I had no idea who George Whitfield was. Never heard of the guy. So as I was listening to the video I opened a second window and Googled him.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Whitefield

I know Wikipedia is not exactly the greatest source for controversial bios, but this seems like the guy Beck was talking about. Whitefield/Whitfield was an 18th century preacher who spoke to thousands.

Why, on Earth, would Glenn Beck use this guy as an example of someone who should be looked up to? He advocated for slavery and was a slave owner. What the heck was Beck thinking? The NAACP wouldn't notice?

Beck has spoken that the truth will set you free, know what the bible says and what it teaches, know your relationship with GOD. Understand what the forefathers had in mind and where their inspiration came from. The Bible teaches us real history and as individuals it really is our responsibility to know who GOD is and what he means to us. He offers his grace and mercy's to us freely, we just have to believe and trust in HIM. God bless Glenn and God Bless America.

I'm disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I love Glenn Beck and what he has done in exposing the evils of marxism and the corruption in Washington. But, when he begins preaching, it makes me nervous. At the 21 min. mark, he tells people that “Hell is not an eternal lake of fire…” Obviously, his Mormon beliefs are re-writing scripture. The Bible is clear on this “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Rev. 20:15. The problem is he wants all of us to join hands together in this fight for America, but Christians should not join this unholy alliance. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” 2 Cor. 6:17 I know Glenn Beck wants to do good, but we need to realize that he preaches a different gospel – he is just very careful what he says, but he does slip from time to time giving clues to his real beliefs. Unfortunately, this is one area where he is not intellectually honest with us. “For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” 2 Cor. 11:4 ye might well bear with him is an interesting thought – it means 'receive his doctrine, submit to his authority, and prefer him to the apostles yet since a more excellent gospel was not preached or proposed, they ought not to connive at, indulge and tolerate, such a false apostle among them, which it seems they did'. We need to pray for Glenn's salvation but not tolerate the false doctrine he is preaching.

Beck is nothing but a little phony like many televangelists who can also turn on the crocodile tear machine on cue. In fact, he's become more of a televangelist all the time as his shows have become increasingly religious in message.

Glenn, all I can say is you were awesome at the American Revival in SLC, Utah. A man of infinite wisdom, courage and integrity. We love you, Glenn. My only regret is that you stood 8 feet away from me and I couldn't shake your hand. God bless you, Glenn Beck. Don't ever go away!

  • http://twitter.com/ozziecastillo Ozzie Castillo

When Glenn does talk about the bible I am careful to not lend myself out to manipulation- I am just as skeptical and I will always go directly to the bible rather than take one person's interpretation of it.

I do believe that he sometimes goes a little far, but what I do take from it is the passion he has for faith.

He always disclaimers that no one should take what he says as truth and that they should all go to the source for their answers. I agree with that- Most of what he does in his “preaching” is to try to spark Americas interest in God again. I do not take issue with that because I think it is the best example of goodness and charity to the people. Appreciation for what we have and looking to God for how we should act.

A little off topic- What is evidenced by his recent reporting is that not all faiths are the right way. When you look at black liberation theology or Islam and their actions you see that their interpretation is different than what I believe to be true. I'm not sure, but doesn't BLT use the same bible Christians and Catholics use? Different interpretations- We all know by common sense that we do not do certain things in God's name or that he would advocate extermination of a people or that he thinks to do good is to take from others. Some others would find a way to twist the words to reach a certain end, but for those that read the book and rely on the Commandments- it can be simple to filter out the right from the wrong.

  • http://twitter.com/ozziecastillo Ozzie Castillo

Interesting- I agree it goes against what I believe, but I think what he is saying or trying to say is that religion will bring about change because that is where it starts as it did then. I saw a video during which Barton detailed the invasion of America by Britain and then gave a list of all the preachers that disseminated the message and rallied their men to the call of freedom.

It was also noted that the primary impetus for freedom in America was because it God's given rights to man, and that government had no business taking them or our livelihood. The way that message got out was through printed sermons (I'm not sure if he said he owns thousands or hundreds) that all preached the rights of man not given from man.

Basically the church was the catalyst of this 'new' way of thinking.

As an example of how important they are we can now see (those of us that are religious) how the leftist groups and the administration are infiltrating those organizations and even setting up fake Christian groups to disseminate their political ideology. They understand that if they can control what our faith is, what we believe and model our lives around, they can get their foot in the door on their ideas once we falsely believe that it is God's will. They can then use your own faith as a wedge on how you form your opinion on whether it is right or wrong.

Glen is using Whitfield as an example for how important it is for the faithful to return to their faith and prevent the perversion of the written scripture by man to reach a political end.

There were founders who were slave-owners and it was a practice in America for a long time. It is not condoned, but it was a way of life for British and some in the colonies. However, if the statement that he (according to the Wiki link) advocated legislation for it is troubling, if true; but his role in our founding was in helping to light the fire in the colonies for freedom.

Who's to say Rev. 20:15 is literally talking about fire? And, Christians shouldn't join him because of his belief of what hell is like? He happens to be very honest about his beliefs and feelings. There is no “intellectual dishonesty” there.

KeninMontana, that is not what the Bible means when it says not to judge. The Bible talks about righteous judgment all the time. We are to discern continually otherwise you cannot separate yourself from false doctrine.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=850144043 Amy Wilson

There is one thing in common with all false doctrine – they ADD to scripture. Glenn is right that Black Liberation Theology is not Christian, but what he misses is it is not wrong because of actions, but belief based in something other then scripture. Every religion that ADDS to scripture always twists the meaning of scripture. Islam has the Koran, Black Liberation Theology has Rev. James Cone's words/writings, Mormons has the Book of Mormon, Catholics have the Catechism, Jehovah Witnesses have the Watchtower, the Seventh Day Adventists have the writings of Ellen White and so on. When you mix another doctrine in addition to the Bible (which is typcially used as the 'key' to the Bible), you always get the Bible wrong. It's a tell tale sign of false doctrine. Either you preach the Bible ALONE or you're going to get it wrong. It is really as simple as that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=850144043 Amy Wilson

To deny the existence of Hell is to deny God. The term hell is “Gehenna” which Jesus used to describe to his disciples. Gehenna was a geographical site in Jerusalem known as the Valley of Hinnom, a horrible place where people sacrificed their children by fire which later became the common wasteyard for all the refuse of Jerusalem – the corpses and ashes of animals and people, as well as wastes and garbage were cast and, according to legend, consumed by a constant fire! Jesus' words from Mark 9:43-48 as he warned about Hell:

“And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into HELL, INTO THE FIRE THAT NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED: WHERE THE WORM DIETH NOT, AND THE FIRE IS NOT GUENCHED. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be CAST INTO HELL, INTO THE FIRE THAT NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED: WHERE THE WORM DIETH NOT, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be CAST INTO HELL FIRE: WHERE THEIR WORM DIETH NOT, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.”

The intellectual dishonesty comes from the fact that he leaves out much of what he really believes (study the doctrines of Mormonism and you'll see that when he uses the Christian terminology, he doesn't mean what the Christian means specifically). There is always an intellectual dishonesty from anyone who is in a religion that calls itself Christian but doesn't have the specific doctrines of Christianity. I have watched Glenn's testimony about salvation – it misses the truth of salvation given in scripture.

    Glenn Beck —

What a blessing you are to all of us! Thank you for teaching us and introducing us to guests who know the 'real history' of the United States of America! Thank you for your brand of sanity and your passion for God and our nation. I pray for you and all the Fox folks daily as you pursue the truth and give a clinic on how 'to do' journalism! You've jumped to the top of the prayer list with the eye issue. I am in agreement with you, your family and friends that your vision will be miraculously healed by the 'Great Physician!' Thank goodness He's not required to implement Obama-care! Keep smiling, teaching, laughing, and loving America, her history, treasures, people and of course, her peanut M&M's! My dad was a WWII Veteran. He's a hero to me — I'm now adding you to that list of one of God's bravest kids! Peace, Blessings and Health to last a lifetime!

Dear Mr. Beck, I believe in the Power of Prayer. I don't go to church every Sunday. I do live my life the way the Good Lord would like us to live it. I pray every night that the Lord will watch over us, and that he will make things right. You are a Good Man, Glenn, I will pray every night for you. You will overcome this disease and you will be able to see your younger children grow. You are Honorable, you have opened my eyes to see things I wasn't seeing, you deserve your eyes as well. You will have them, the Lord will see to it. God Bless you and your Family !

very well said Amy…Satan is slick…beware of wolves in sheeps Clothing!! I love Glenn as well…but he could not be further wrong about God and Hell…very disapointed to hear him say that as well ):

  • Heewah

The “Lake of fire” and many other references in Revelations are symbolic. Revelations if filled with symbolism, and needs to be studied with that understanding.

  • Heewah

Amy, your reasoning is, unfortunately, small-minded and finite (although perfectly human, and undoubtedly based on what you have been taught). To say that God hasn't inspired anyone to teach/prophecy/write the truth since Bible times is to limit God and His power–as well as His love for His children who have been coming into the world–and spreading/living all over the world–since the time of Adam. Would a loving Heavenly Father abandon His children, and keep them from His saving truths, simply because they didn't have access to the Bible (and MOST of them didn't)? This goes against reason. He raises up/inspires/sends prophets into every land that He chooses, in His wisdom, for them to go. And these prophets keep a record of their history and teachings. In time, we will discover that “scripture” has been written (and continues to be written) by God's chosen from the beginning of this world, ALL over the world.
