Google celebrates Easter by celebrating Cesar Chavez’s birthday

Many are upset today that Google chose to ignore the resurrection of Christ or even secular Easter with all the bunnies and eggs, and instead chose to celebrate the birthday of Cesar Chavez. Here’s the image I’m sure you’ve seen by now:

According to Business Insider, Google hasn’t celebrated Easter in over 12 years. I went back and checked the Internet Archive and I didn’t see anything for the last few years. They may indeed be right. But that hasn’t stopped many on twitter from threatening to leave Google altogether and switch to Bing.

BI also says that Obama just declared March 31st as Cesar Chavez day, which honestly is more offensive to me than Google celebrating it. Why hasn’t he done this in the past 4 years? Cesar Chavez’s birthday hasn’t changed. In fact, he waits until this year when Easter falls on March 31st to declare it as Ceasar Chavez day? Yeah I’m sure that wasn’t intentional or anything.

So what do you guys think?
