Newt is right, if I could vote out the idiot Senators that gave us the income tax back in the early 1900's I would. McCaskil voted for Obamacare, the next worse thing to the income tax. Vote McCaskil out, I could care less if it was Peter pan running against her. Shecis nuts. In addition, McCaskil is the ultra extreme polar opposite of Akin on abortion.
McCaskil is a proud supporter of live partial birth abortions with no trimester limit. A very sick and gruesome procedure, it's simply murder.
JANE ROE (of Roe-Wade) lied to the Supreme Court about being raped. She - actually Norma Rae McCorvey- is now pro-life and Catholic.
I do not think that Akin should have stayed as a candidate in the race but he did so they have to work with what they have and I think it is safe to say that Akin would be a better senator for Missouri than McCaskill.
Further, I don't think liberals such as Obama and Kathleen Sebelius should be allowed to run for elected office when they believe in the barbaric practice of late term abortion and even instances of post-birth abortion. How anyone can legitimately believe that is a logical and sane stance to take will always be beyond me.
Greta is not going to outsmart Newt on his worst day let alone a good one. sorry Greta, you are alright for a Prog, but you are not Newt.
Greta Van Susteren is a Democrat who has a tendency to support female candidates. Greta was a Hillary Clinton supporter during the 2008 presidential race and being a feminist herself she seeks the empowerment of women, including Claire McCaskill apparently also.
Todd Akin never said rape was legitimate, but that's how Greta Van Susteren painted the narrative when discussing the topic with Newt Gingrich. Todd Akin said if what occurred was really rape, hence the term 'legitimate' rape, then women have means and access to things to keep them from becoming pregnant. Albeit Todd Akin also stated, erroneously, that if a raped actually occurred then a woman has the ability to shut down the process herself to keep from becoming pregnant. In reality, there is the "morning after pill" available on the market to keep women from becoming pregnant if a woman was indeed raped.
Newt Gingrich didn't confront Greta about her incorrect assessment of what Todd Akin actually said and meant when he said 'legitimate' rape. But Newt did a reasonably good job explaining why he supports Todd Akin's Senate run in Missouri. Claire McCaskill supported Obamacare even when 73% of Missourians were against it. Claire McCaskill supported all of Obama's reckless spending policies that are currently ruining the US economy. Claire McCaskill is an ideologue who places Party above the country and if the people of Missouri reelect her they will get what they deserve. Todd Akin, on the other hand, apologized for his unfortunate choice of words and he is a dedicated conservative who has the United States (and Missouri's) best interest(s) at heart and could enormously help a Romney presidency to help get America's fiscal house back in order and the American people back to work again.
On the other hand, if Barack Obama and Claire McCaskill are reelected into office the United States of America will continue down the same treacherous path of decline and stagnation that Barack Obama and his inept administration have already put the American people through over the last four years of Obama's failed presidency. Which Claire McCaskill supported wholeheartedly and continues to support i.e. a failed President and his failed policies. That's why Claire McCaskill needs to be thrown out of office along with her failed black oligarch Barack Hussein Obama.
There is no one like Newt when it comes to dealing with the media. The man makes no apologies for his positions and speaks with such clarity. Great job Newt. Excellent points.
Got the message from Santorum that he is jointly supporting Akin with DeMint. Here is the statement
"If Republicans are to win back the Senate and stop President Obama's liberal agenda, we must defeat Senator Claire McCaskill in Missouri. Her support of President Obama's job-killing, big-spending policies are sending our country into an economic abyss. And her passionate support of ObamaCare is ensuring healthcare costs go up while quality of care goes down. Simply put, we cannot afford six more years of Senator McCaskill.
"Todd Akin is a principled conservative who is committed to winning and fighting for freedom in the U.S. Senate. Todd will work to stop reckless spending, stop the out of control debt, repeal the government takeover of healthcare, support our military and defend life at every stage.
"We support Todd Akin and hope freedom-loving Americans in Missouri and around the country will join us so we can save our country from fiscal collapse."
The wonderful patriot Senator Jim DeMint came to his aid with the Senate Conservatives Fund. I give to this, and I might give to Aiken too. It's time for the GOP to stick up for their own.
I think it is time for Sarah Palin to jump in with her support. That would lead
to donations for Atkin. His problem in the last few weeks is going to be lack of funding
to go up against McCaskill's war chest.
Greta needs to understand that there is rape and then there are accusations of rape. I knew what he meant. Newt needs to remind her of William Kennedy Smith, Teddy's nephew. A girl accused him of rape on the beach years ago, and he said it was consensual. That is the difference. All the media cared about then, was that this accusation could cost him his entrance into medical school.
We don't know what happened, but they certainly didn't come to her defense, even though we know how much they all love women. Just not women babies. It's ok to let them die at full term after a botched abortion aka murder.
If I lived in MO, I would vote for Akin, stupid statement and all, over McCaskill. Newt is correct when he said something about six seconds of a stupid statement is better than six years of votes supporting obama the MegaSpender!!!!!
comments over at hotair all up over this.
nobody cares that there may be something behind what he said.
its all about the fact he had the guts to say it.
What names did the Rove RINO'S propose to replace Akin? It was not Sarah Streelman. They wanted one of their own. They continue to fight a war on two fronts. Obama and the Tea Party. Pulling all financial support for Akin tells me who they hate more. Ailes is in their pocket as well. Palin hasn't been back on Greta since she stunned her with that Hilary replace Biden bombshell. Greta has a boss to appease.
i saw a doctor on tv and he said adkins is right as to what happens to a persons body when in distress as in the case of brutal rape. actually i agree with akins there are some females that scream rape when it is not rape.
i saw the interview and newt is right about oboma. if oboma gets elected again he is going to get us all killed. the debt and spending the growing of government and no budget for 4 years. ole harry in the senate not doing his job this man oboma, harry and polski is an embrassement to our country.
Except he WASN'T "factually wrong".
Akin not far off base in rape comment
http://www.wnd.com/2012/08/akin-not-far-off-base-in-rape-comment/
Newt and Sarah Palin, the only two conservatives who can explain the facts of what we are facing in clear, simple terms that anyone can understand. I think Akin's remarks were some of the most ignorant I have ever heard in my lifetime. However, I accept his apology as sincere and will, when all is said and done, take his ignorance of the female reproductive system and rape over McCaskill's greed, lies, and actual stupidity. McCaskill sold out her state and country. I don't think Akin has come anywhere close to that.
Greta is a little to comfy condemoning Akin for his ignorant statement.
Newt is right to frame it the way he did and Akin MUST win over McCaskill.
Who the heck is Greta to tell Newt who he can or can't campaign for? The d@mn media has no business chastising anyone who chooses to campaign for any candidate. Why doesn't she ask Juan Williams why he's campaigning for Barry, who is MUCH more wrong-minded on MANY more issues than anyone on the (R) team?!? (not that there aren't some buffoons on the (R) team)...
And btw, who the heck is dumb enough to argue with Newt? The dude can make his point!
Loyalty! Get some, Republicans! Newt is the guy that you want in your corner when the rest of your "friends" desert you in the trenches.
Gaffes as in "you didn't build that business yourself, you had government help" or the economy is doing fine or spreading the wealth around is a good thing". OMG, Obama is a true believer in socialism and yet her and the left seem to think it's a perfectly legitimate position to take after 235 years of capitalism advancing the the largest middle class advancement out of poverty the world has known but that's ok.
There's a Communist in the White House, and Greta is worried about Todd Akin? Typical...
You never know who's on your side when you are a republican. At least liberals understand loyalty.
It's a sad day in America when our choice is McCaskill who voted for obamacare and a dinosaur that thinks women "will" their body to not get pregnant after rape and thinks there is such a thing as a "legitimate" rape. He should have stepped down and allowed Sarah Steelman to have a shot at this. Another example of the male ego and arrogance especially given he is several points behind McCaskill in the polls. I like Gingrich but I am disappointed in his decision.
It is what it is and people are faced with the same choice as they vote for the POTUS - A strong willed, narcissistic dictator vs. a mediocre, milquetoast of a candidate who is billed as the "lesser of two evils."
Yes it's sad. But it's what we have. The good news is that it's a total no-brainer choice for anyone who hopes to end the current nightmare.
I'll send the knucklehead money. And hope he wins, and then doesn't do anything stupid afterward.
At least he's not Arlen Sphincter or Chuck U. Farlie Crist.
I donated to Congressman Akin's campaign today. He needs our support. The choice is very clear.
Off topic: For anybody from Chicago to help with voter fraud.

Attention Chicago-land Morons: Here's How You Can Make a Difference
Help cut down on some of the rampant Democratic vote fraud in Cook County by becoming a Republican election judge. Otherwise the Democrats get to fill these slots and do anything they like without even a peep of objection.
Democrats hate this woman because systematically she's gone after one avenue of voter fraud after another, removing layers of fraud that Democrats have built into Illinois elections since the first Mayor Daley was magically finding boxes of votes to give John F. Kennedy the edge in 1960.
Her name is Sharon Meroni and she needs your help today.
It's down to the wire and Sharon still needs 500 Republican election judges in Cook County.and she needs them by this coming Thursday. If she doesn't find 500 more judges, then Democrats will get to fill those positions.just like they have in previous elections. Democrats use those slots as patronage pay-offs and also enjoy having complete control of polling places.which is how the dead are allowed to vote in many cases or how, mysteriously, people who didn't actually show up to vote end up voting anyway if Democrats need them to in tight elections. Without a Republican judge in a polling place to prevent this from happening, fraud is institutionalized in Cook County elections.
Good for Newt. He went up against the RINO establishment in the Republican nomination process and is still doing the same, as it seems that the Preibus/Rove coalition and yes, Romney are all dead set against it.
Claire McCaskill deserves defeat and here's hoping Akin trounces her at the polls.
I love Greta, even when I disagree with her, I still love her. She made a concerted effort to bring Newt and Santo on as much as she could during the primary season and was the first to bring Newt back to Fox after his shut-out. She grills him because she knows Newt can take it and make it so others get it too.
p.s. she also shows a huge respect for Gov. Palin!
Greta's liberal roots show more and more with each show.
She opines more than O'Reilly and can be more bombastic that Hannity when someone disagrees with her.
She started out in this time slot as a crime reporter and during one political crisis, ended up with the format her show has now. Basically, she is still a crime reporter and did much better with Jim Moret at CNN, covering the OJ trial.
Thankfully, living in Western Canada, I have the option to turn her off and watch a journalist whose ideals aren't sullied by ego (like Gret's are), Brian Lilley on SUN News.
Gotta hold SUN's feet to the fire. Their US politics analysis is surely wanting, and David Aikin is the national bureau chief... and he is not a conservative. The tainting of the news with liberalism is happening. Their pundits are good however.
When you put SUN up against CBC and CTV, SUN wins every time.
For the first time, Canadians do have a choice of their news and for that, I am grateful. Lilley, Levant Coren and Adler all liaise with US reporters, a lot from the Blaze and Breitbart. I can overlook David Aikin and Bryn Weese for that.
Looking at the list of reporters and correspondents and who owns SUN, they are beholding to no one, unlike Rupert Murdoch, who bowed at the feet of George Soros and the Saudis.
I think, because I have never thought of her as a conservative, that I am not upset when she leans left. I appreciate her for what I mentioned in my orginal post. I also get Sun News and think highly of Brian Lilley!
It's a good thing we all have different tastes. I am finding Greta more and more liberal with each and every show. She shows little respect for her guests who don't share her point of view.
Case in point - when she melted down with Tucker Carlson last year. I saw this exchange and she lost every ounce of logic she possessed, as Carlson took her to task. http://www.mediaite.com/tv/tucker-carlson-and-greta-van-susteren-tear-each-other-apart-over-mike-tyson-story/
It was after this exchange that I stopped watching her on a regular basis.
Palin was wrong, a third party is NOT the answer
Rove, The RNS, The Establishment, The rinos were all wrong
The choice if for a conservative vs a Kommiecrta.
What so difficult about the issue?
but they were all ok when Whoopie said, "But it wasn't a rape rape.". She meant it wasn't a illegitimate rape.
Greta is just a downright hypocrite. She finds and searches for excuses with Joe Biden and Barack Obama saying that when Barack and Joe make gaffes then they really don’t believe it! On the other hand she tells Newt that it’s different with Todd Akin because he really believes what he said! She just makes me sick!
I know she never asked Karl Rove about his stupid comment to murder Todd Akin, did she! I have always thought that this demonizing of Todd Akin was an effort to purge the republican party of conservative I mean who does she think she is to sit in judgment of someone who apologized for what he said realizing that it was insensitive to rape victims. She keeps repeating it as if she is trying to help Claire McCaskell. I mean what good it does to keep harping on a 6 second slip-up. She is supposed to be a lawyer but a stupid lawyer to say the least. She should be embarrassed and learn to move on because every time she opens her mouth about Todd Akin she really does not know the man.
I never knew Todd Akin before he made the statement and when he made the blunder I did not take the bait because I actually know that most of what he said was accurate but it does happens in rare situations. And least we not forget that Rep. Akin was vote 7 times to the House of Representatives and he was picked among seven viable candidates in the primaries one of which was endorsed by Sarah Palin, Sarah Steelman, and she lost. So the Palin magic did not work in that case because the people wanted Akin. So who are we, the RNC, GOPe, Karl Rove, or Mitt Romney, to tell the people of Missouri who they can and cannot select as the candidate and hopefully Senator. Todd Akin is a very strong unwavering Conservative and at least we should have given him the benefit of the doubt and allow him the chance to explain. Fortunately he is up in the polls from an independent polling organization in Missouri, not Rasmussen, and I pray for him and his family because he has been getting death threats and I just hope that he can win against all odds.
http://www.wnd.com/2012/08/akin-not-far-off-base-in-rape-comment/
Let me see; Greta is from Wisconsin; Greta is a lawyer; Greta "believes" Akin still thinks what he said is valid; Great thinks we should give a hoot about what she believes. Why would we? Newt is great with the press.
