Just a quick update from our resident Sheriff Duck, ABiC,

She's having some technical difficulties with her 'puter but will be back to wrangle us back into shape quicker than we can say, "Mother"

(if you love Daffy as much as I do, you'll know just how to say that!! ;) )

Happy St. Patty's day! I think St. Patrick would've had a harder time driving the snakes out of D.C. than Ireland, but that's another story. God bless you all!

Some of us are old enough to fondly remember the days before 'Sponge Bob'. :-( :-(

The EU are stealing 7-10% of the peoples' bank accounts in Cyprus as part of a Cyprus bailout. What you gonna do when they come for you?

A cyber toast!

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
The rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Be happy and live each day as if it might be your last!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all the Irish reading... And all the people who have Irish heritage reading!  And those what just WISH they had Irish heritage!  :-)

Now remember Saint Patrick's day is NOT about green beer, green rivers and drunken idiocy!  But it's about celebrating the greatest Saint in Ireland.... And he wrote this poem... Which I present here...

I bind unto myself today
The strong Name of the Trinity,
By invocation of the same,
The Three in One and One in Three.

I bind this day to me for ever.
By power of faith, Christ's incarnation;
His baptism in the Jordan river;
His death on Cross for my salvation;
His bursting from the spicèd tomb;
His riding up the heavenly way;
His coming at the day of doom;
*
I bind unto myself today.

I bind unto myself the power
Of the great love of the cherubim;
The sweet 'well done' in judgment hour,
The service of the seraphim,
Confessors' faith, Apostles' word,
The Patriarchs' prayers, the Prophets' scrolls,
All good deeds done unto the Lord,
And purity of virgin souls.

I bind unto myself today
The virtues of the starlit heaven,
The glorious sun's life-giving ray,
The whiteness of the moon at even,
The flashing of the lightning free,
The whirling wind's tempestuous shocks,
The stable earth, the deep salt sea,
Around the old eternal rocks.

I bind unto myself today
The power of God to hold and lead,
His eye to watch, His might to stay,
His ear to hearken to my need.
The wisdom of my God to teach,
His hand to guide, His shield to ward,
The word of God to give me speech,
His heavenly host to be my guard.

Against the demon snares of sin,
The vice that gives temptation force,
The natural lusts that war within,
The hostile men that mar my course;
Or few or many, far or nigh,
In every place and in all hours,
Against their fierce hostility,
I bind to me these holy powers.

Against all Satan's spells and wiles,
Against false words of heresy,
Against the knowledge that defiles,
Against the heart's idolatry,
Against the wizard's evil craft,
Against the death wound and the burning,
The choking wave and the poisoned shaft,
Protect me, Christ, till Thy returning.

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity;
By invocation of the same.
The Three in One, and One in Three,
Of Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord.

Me lovely bride and I had lunch with Jen Kuznicki and her daughter yesterday at our local Irish Pub. My Father-in-Law and his wife were there too. Each year they serve the tastiest Corn Beef, Cabbage, Rutabagas, and of course Guinness. I tried to order a Leprechaun too, but none were available. I think they were in the back cooking, and guarding the sacks of gold against shenanigans of every sort.

When the bill came, I thought for sure, they'd be after me lucky charms, but Jen covered her own, and Father-in-law covered ours. Ahhh, me Charms left undisturbed.

From Lake Huron to the shamrock-laden shires of Ireland. Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Where's the Karl Rove post with him talking about Sarah Palin on Foxnews this morning at? I hope it gets posted.

I can't stand Rove using a liberal talking point dig at her.. saying if he did get elected to office he would finish his full term and not leave mid-term.. He knows very damn well she did it for the better good of the Alaskan people.

@StevenValdez

Palin drew first blood with her CPAC speech.  What ever happened to Reagan's 11th commandment?

Having Republicans bashing other Republicans only benefits the Democrats.

Growing up in the big city, it was the norm for the neighborhood "Irish bars" such as:

The Plough and Stars, Durty Nellys, and Shannon Arms  to display banners advertising corned beef and cabbage, and green beer! Most didn't regularly serve food, so this was a fun component to a festive day.

Even us Patriotic Americans, for just one day would exclaim

'Erin go braugh'!

Happy St. Patrick's Day all.  Today, my youngest son turns 30.  He's half Irish from his mother.  God keep him safe today.  He's a bit of a rascal.  As for me, St. Patrick's Day is the day set aside to plant the peas.  It's good to dig in the dirt again.

OT:  How many are taking part in the Tea Party Patriots' Sunday telephone town halls, featuring speakers who were involved in Reagan's administration?  Very fascinating and provide a depth of knowledge for choosing effective conservative candidates.

They phone you at 5:pm eastern time, and the meetings last one hour:  here's where you sign up...
