Herman Cain did a fabulous job on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Even when asked about the infamous ‘Muslim’ question that he botched early on, he did a great job explaining it.

Why don’t I remember Letterman or Leno asking Obama about “God and guns?” Yet Leno has already played the “pray the gay away” game with Mrs. Bachmann and now the “Muslim” issue with Mr. Cain?

I know these comedians are not the “journalist” media, but they have influence. Suddenly Leno is able to pay attention and ask a question of the woman and the Black man. Hmm…

    • Anonymous

Since Obama apparently spent 25 years in a racist church with a racist surrogate-father “preacher,” and never heard a thing – Obama, like the rest of the liberals, probably never heard himself call the country bigots, either.

Although IMO, as Obama becomes more unglued, stuff like ‘America is soft’ will continue to slip and out, and even the occaisional liberal might notice him letting the facade come down.

    • Anonymous

Solomon HE–(LENO)–has the Tonight Show on NBC-OBAMMY Network. That is the reason why.

    • Anonymous

That struck me wrong also, I like Leno but the question about muslums and the way he keep interjecting that “there are many many very good muslums” was irritating. It’s not his duty to elevate the reputation of muslums, they are not trusted and widely percieved as murderers through thier own actions.

  • http://twitter.com/edenjac edenjac

he did awesome, I’m telling you when his empowerment zones plan comes out he will skyrocket because its directly linked to the inner cities. He actually has a plan that could work to help those communities big time. nobody else has even mentioned inner cities.

I can just see Best Buy taking merchandise out of the box, plugging it in, turning it on and then selling it as used.

    • Kevin DeCoster

Could be – but Best Buy would obviously have to purchase the new product first, take the consumption tax hit themselves, and then take a depreciation hit for selling used. They would go out of business faster than – uh – Best Buy.

      • http://twitter.com/edenjac edenjac

Kevin I think that Best Buy as a business does not have to pay the consumption tax because the 9% flat tax for business excludes investments, all purchases from other businesses but like you mentioned if they did this they would take a hit for depreciation because its used and not brand new. Anyway if any business cheats and is caught once they should be put out of business, period. The truth about this plan as I see it is that it will take us from a consumption nation to a production and savings nation. Things would change a lot but we need them to change.

        • http://www.facebook.com/AMrSmith Robert Smith

Almost everything Best Buy sells is covered under the free trade treaty.

Great Job Mr. Cain. And folks, if you like him, get out there and get in the game. With the states moving up all the primaries (NH says December?) this is the RNC’s way to push him out of the way for next in line, Romney. Say no to that, write the RNC and your state on the Primaries and help the Herminator get his name recognition up to critical mass. A citizen as President instead of the annointed ones. Remember Reagan and get to work!

Article 2 Section 1 No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

If a candidate meets these standards he/she is eligible. Our personal feelings on a candidate only determine if the are acceptable to us personally and have no bearing on eligibility.

  • mike morrison

Great job, Herman. I just hope he doesn’t have any skeletons in the closet because the better he does in the polls, the more the dirty tricks are going to be aimed at him. Perry is the king of underhanded dirty politics…just ask Debra Medina.

    • Anonymous

Personally Mike, I’m not worried. I say that because being a B.A. Christian as is Herman Cain, we know that we are accountable to GOD first and then the law of the land.

Herman is a man who knows he is blessed and I believe because of that, the last thing he would do is dishonor his Creator.

I’m confident that he does not have skeletons waiting to come out and in fact; whatever the press may conjure up will quickly be shown as fallacy.

We have to remember that every leader was appointed by God for His purposes….yes even Obama. Cain has the Lord on his side.

Married to the same woman, Gloria Cain, for 40 plus years, two grown, successful children, has attended Antioch Church since the age of ten AND unlike Obama’s church that preaches hate and division, Antioch is a Bible-based, spirit led church and is over 133 yrs. old. The church, in the Atlanta area, was started by former slaves. I’ve met Herman and have listened to him for years (on the radio) – he is a man of integrity. BTW, Gloria Cain is a graduate of Morris Brown College. Will be interesting to hear what the media comes up with… besides calling him Uncle Tom.

    • Mark Smith

What were you? Like Debra Medina’s campaign manager or something? She went on Glenn Beck’s radio show and shot herself. All Perry had to do was sit back. On the same show after she was gone, Beck called her an idiot. Then the biggest Conservative radio talker in Texas Mark Davis declared her not ready for prime time.

      • mike morrison

You know about 10% of the story if that’s what you think. I live in Texas and yes I did support her and campaign for her.

Billy Boy had the gall tonight to throw out the results of his 100,000 vote, on line poll because Cain and Paul came in too high. He announced the next four candidates as winners. If Sarah Palin gets in, his head will explode because he will need a new rule to discount candidates that his bosses want marginalized. Crony Capitalism is too polite. Corrupt is a better word.

      No doubt!

Anytime someone like Paul or other folks who challenge the Establishment have a chance to do well, they are airbrushed out of existence the way Stalin did his political enemies from paintings or history books. Ignore the success & emphasize the perceived failures. Insult their supporters & promote the antagonists.

Give BillO credit, however: at least he left Paul’s name IN the poll, unlike many other conservative websites do.

Great job Mr. Cain. That had to be stressful and he pulled it off.

Mr. Cain is already winning over the American people. I saw Mr. Cain speak at an event in SW Pennsylvania earlier this year. Most of the people walked in not knowing who is was. After hearing him speak from the heart, most of the people walked out as Herman Cain supporters. It really was that dramatic.

Mr. Cain’s biggest obstacle now is the Republican establishment and the talking heads that represent it. Rove, Krauthammer and O’Reilly all need to put aside their agendas and support the man that can help lead us out of this mess that the Republican establishment and BO have gotten us into. Don’t forget that we were already $12 trillion in debt when BO took over. The truth is that BO has just been dramatically worse than his predecessors.

Rove, Krauthammer, and O’Reily are NOT the ones I listen to. I do NOT T R U S T any of these three. Mr. Cain is not a black man, HE IS AN AMERICAN, that just happens to be black. Listen to the message. He does not have to figure out what he said or is saying. Thank goodness he speaks without the stupid teleprompters.

It’s time to put away the “I like him…but he can’t win” argument. He certainly can win. Message is more important than money and the people, not the media, will decide who or next leader will be.

The other argument about Herman having no experience in elected office is also easily remedied. Does anyone think that he won’t have people in his administration that will? How about Newt Gingrich as chief of staff or a senior advisor? It’s a non-issue. As Herman puts it, “Surround yourself with the right people.” BO surrounded himself with anti-business radicals and now he’s wondering why the economy is hurting and businesses aren’t hiring. I’m not a big fan of the word “duh” but I think it is very appropriate given the facts.

  • Anonymous

Yes he not only has substance, but he also has very little political baggage which is going to put him at the top soon.

This man is for real and people are waking up to that fact no matter what the media pundits say.

I support Herman Cain for his consistent support for the Federal Reserve and for the TARP bail-outs. His endorsement of Romney in 2008 also impresses me. All of these issues are important to Black voters. Cain will also continue the Iraq and Afghanistan wars; continuing these wars and bank bail-outs just like Obama has done is hugely important to the middle class. We must always continue to bail-out the bankers and the wars must never stop.

That was a great interview. Cain did Palin a HUGE favor by forgiving her for calling him Herm. Even though she actually called him Herb, that will give her followers an out. At least the ones who claimed she called him Herm because that’s what his friends call him. Hey, she only thought his friends called him that. All those people who claimed I should Google “Herb Cain” to educate myself about how people routinely call him Herb will have to come up with some other rationalization.

Cain is a good guy but I can’t support him. His business background doesn’t impress me because I spent 30 years working for a large corporation and guys like Cain are nothing more than bureaucrats.

    • Anonymous

      Wow. Way to generalize Jaynie.

  • Anonymous

I like him and I’d vote for him, but I wish he’d stop talking about instituting a national sales tax. He’s just opening up another revenue stream without getting rid of the others. 9-9-9 could easily escalate to 12-12-12 or 20-20-20 under another dem. administration.

If you want a national sales tax, repeal the 16th amendment and get rid of the income tax first. He should know more than anyone that TEA mean taxed enough already.

    • Anonymous

You’re right, Democrats will raise taxes, but they do that anyhow regardless of tax structure.

    • http://www.noneedforastinkingwebsite.com dow daytrader

it will be in the 9-9-9 legislation that the sales tax can’t be fiddled with and I am sure will require a super majority to change anything. We need change quick and fast, otherwise the USA will be a failed state experiment in self determination. An amendment takes too long to wait for, we need swift change with a huge GOP – conservative majority that will not perish.

      • Anonymous

Oh don’t worry Dow, come November of next year “we will” have a full majority and the Dems can finally sit down, shut up, and do as their told for a change!!!!!!!!!!

      • Anonymous

Yeah, but I don’t see why that swift change needs to involve a national sales tax. Why not just have a flat tax until we can get rid of the 16th amendment and switch to a sales tax. I’m VERY weary of creating a new revenue stream for Dems to monkey with and raise.

    • Anonymous

I heard that Herman favors “Fair Tax” or a full sales tax, but does not think it is feasible to implement a sudden changeover like that. “999″ is the best that can be expected, and it’s much more than most other candidates propose.

It would be great to toss out the entire IRS tax code as Herman is suggesting.

      • Anonymous

I like the idea of the “Fair Tax”, but ONLY if the 16th amendment is repealed as a condition of it’s implementation. If an income tax and a national sales tax are ever in place at the same time – neither will ever be removed. Remember the income tax was promoted as a tax on the rich of just a couple of percent – it was never going to impact the middle class. You can never trust the political class. Cain’s “9-9-9 Plan” would be disaster for that reason.

I love the man. I believe he has the right philosophy and instinct with enough intelligent to learn and become a force in the future. But his naivety is just too deep right now. We cannot afford to elect another President who needs to “learn-on-the-job”. Now that he has the name recognition, he would have a good chance at winning in a senate run.

This country is in trouble and we need a President who can hit the ground running, but is not a member of the “political elite” and will fight for us against Washington.

IF Palin endorses Cain, he’ll win. So it goes without saying, if Palin doesn’t get in, I’ll be raising some Cain!

The more I hear Herman Cain speak, the better I like him. He’s smart, he’s articulate (not like Obama, but a man who speaks clearly and understandably about the issues, without all the flowery verbiage), and he embodies the American dream.

    • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

AND he does so well without a teleprompter telling him what to say.

  • http://www.solitudeholdings.com/blog1/ Dan C

Sarah praised Cain multiple times, and tweeted his article so many would see it. Now, Leno asks him about the flavor of the week and instead of being honest and telling Leno Sarah was criticizing the media and not him, Cain said nothing to correct the falsehood.

Stand up guy Herm! I’m Greek Orthodox, so am I banned from Government as well or am I on the approved list put forth by you? LOL

Our Founding Fathers only wanted Christians in our political offices. John Adams said our Constitution would only work for moral and religious people.
Read the book, “Muslim Mafia” and you will understand how they are trying to destroy us from within.

In the 1970′s Lebanon was mostly Christian. Muslims started getting positions in the government and took over from within.

Remember, Islam is mostly a tyrannical political doctrine and their “religious” part is praying to a god that tells them to go around killing and establishing Islam over the entire earth.

      Want that in your government?

  • Anonymous

Ladies and Gentleman this man is as real as it gets. No nonsense solution oriented man. I would be proud to put him in the WH!

  • Anonymous

Even the “peaceful” ones believe in the one world caliphate. In the 70′s Lebanon was mostly Christian and Western. Muslims got into positions in the gov’t and took over from within.
Their god is a god who hates.

Our Founding Fathers would be appalled that we are allowing Islamic immigration. It must be ended and they need to be repatriated back to their country of origin.

Read the book, “Muslim Mafia”. Every muslim group in this country is a front group for the Muslim Brotherhood, including the Islamic Medical Society, Muslim Veterans Association, and the Muslim Student Association.

80% of the mosques in this country are financed by the Saudis and they preach for our death and destruction.

A “good” muslim can only swear allegiance to the Koran. They cannot swear allegiance to our Constitution.

Still want them in our government?

    “Grumpy old man”…WTF???

Pretty good interview, but he started out kinda boring while talking about his accomplishments in business.

He musta forgot to mention his being a member of the Federal Reserve in KC. I wonder why….

    • Anonymous

C’mon, you have to admit that even if you love Dr. Paul’s position on the world as he sees it, he DOES come across as a grumpy old man! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile on his face. Mr. Cain’s synopsis was accurate.

      • Anonymous

Paul’s age is a problem for some people, but not for me….’cuz I have faith in Dr. Paul asking an honorable person to be his running mate.

I know a lot of PaulHaters would say Dennis Kucinich possibly, but I wonder if it could be someone more like, say, Pastor Chuck Baldwin or Howard Phillips of the Constitution Party?

The possibility of having as POTUS that might nominate someone like fmr. Judges Andrew Napolitano or Roy Moore to the USSC; fmr. Rep. Tom Tancredo to run the Border Patrol….

    • Anonymous

Working for the Federal Reserve Board is a highly favorable accomplishment.

Yes, Ron Paul does sound exactly like a grumpy old man.

Gary Johnson is a Libertarian I’m glad to listen to, but not Ron Paul.

      • Anonymous

Maybe it’s that northeastern accent of his that makes him sound a lil “grumpy” to some people.

        Yeah, THAT’S it!

HERMAN CAIN HAS ADVANTAGES NOT SHARED BY THE OTHER CANDIDATES. PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF PROFESSIONAL POLITICS AND POLITICIANS. HE SPEAKS ON MOST ISSUES WITH CLARITY AND ASSURANCES–THIS APPEALS TO THOSE WHO HAVE IT WITH OBAMA, AS WELL AS BOTH PARTY MEMBERS WHO HAVE NO CAPACITY AT ALL TO REMEMBER THEIR PROMISES OF ELECTION TIME.

HE HAS A REMARKABLY UNIQUE AND PLEASANT PERSONALITY. HE HAS THE REAGAN CAPACITY TO SPEAK TO VERY SERIOUS POLITICAL PROBLEMS WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE. THIS IS CONFIDENCE BUILDING FOR VOTERS.

THE IDEA THAT A PRESIDENT MUST DEAL WITH HUNDREDS OF DIFFICULTIES BEYOND HIS EXPERIENCE IS CERTAIN; HOWEVER, NO ONE COMES TO THE WHITE HOUSE AS AN OUT-OF-BOTTLE GENIE, WITH UNIMAGINABLE INSIGHTS, ANSWERS, DISPLAYING FINESSE WITH ANY AND ALL PROFOUND CONUNDRUMS.

A LOVE FOR THIS REPUBLIC, AND INTELLIGENCE SUFFICIENT TO LISTEN TO TRUE EXPERTS IN ALL THOSE FIELDS OF MYSTERY–BECAUSE HE WILL BE FACED WITH HUNDREDS OF PERPLEXITIES, THAT HE– NO MATTER WHO HE IS– WAS NOT IN HIS PAST, PRIVY TO, IN WHATEVER PROFILE AND LIFESTYLE HE LIVED.

HERMAN CAIN IS HONEST, AMERICA LOVING AND BRIGHT ENOUGH TO DO A GOOD JOB AS PRESIDENT–THE FIRST STEP OF WHICH IS TO BEAT BARACK OBAMA.

I am a simple working class woman. I was invited to Orlando by an email to see brietbart. While there I wandered upstairs and had the opportunity to meet Cain. When I left I had an Epiphany. OMG. He was amazing. I got the same tingle up my leg like I did for Reagan and Palin.

    He is the real deal.
The next day, at home, I was waiting to hear the straw poll results.
When announced, you couldn’t pull me off the ceiling. He did it. He did it!!!
    He has my vote!!!!
Yes they will try to find Anita Hill #2.
Stand firm against the fake slim they will throw at him.

And Bill oreilly scrubbing Cains 31% win will not deter is from supporting him

  • Anonymous

I happen to like this man, and the “BIGGEST” reason why is he is not a politician.

  • Anonymous

Besides deriding “free market purists” and supporting TARP, as late as September of 2008 (!) Cain still thought the economy was all roses: http://004eeb5.netsolhost.com/hc126.htm That’s what we need, someone who is so clueless about the economy he couldn’t recognize an economic bubble if it bit him on the rear end. (There is only one candidate–a grumpy old man–who predicted the NASDAQ crash and the housing bubble, but that’s another story…)

I would have thought, before reading the comments on this blog, that we, as conservatives, would endorse someone who is opposed to taxes, not someone who supports them. Cain wants some kind of tax reforms that are “revenue neutral.” That should immediately disqualify him from any serious consideration. In other words, he doesn’t see any problem with the current course we are sailing on, we just need to rearrange the deck chairs.

    • Anonymous

And you seem to be supporting a man who wouldn’t recognize an honest threat to the safety and security of the United States if it was eating his leg.

Herman Cain is opposed to taxes, but he’s also not a moron. We need to have money to keep the government functioning — after all, people will not stop needing their SS checks because we would have a legitimate “first black president.” Let’s get something clear, here: EVERY candidate in the field has their weaknesses (including Cain and Paul), but they all have one big strength…they’re not Obama.

      • Anonymous

The man I support is the only candidate who understands the reasons why we were attacked and who clearly understands foreign policy. He is the candidate who received more than twice as much in donations from the military as all other candidates combined. I am supporting the man whom the troops are supporting.

If Herman Cain is opposed to taxes, then why is he proposing new ones? Revenue-neutral new ones? Economically speaking, yes, he is a moron. As I posted above, as late as 2008 he still thought the economy was all peaches and cream. Cain claimed there was no housing bubble. So our solution is supposed to be to support the guy who completely failed to understand the true condition of our economy in the years leading up to the collapse? Why, because he’s the “first black president”? No thanks, I’ll stick with my grumpy old man. He’s the only one who can understands the economy and he’s the only one who can fix it.

        • KenInMontana

I somehow doubt that 34,000 in donations represents all “the troops” as you imply. I have no doubt he enjoys some support from them but, at the same time claims that he has “the backing of the military” is somewhat specious.

          • Anonymous

I did not claim he had support from “all the troops”, so your quotation marks were a falsehood. I claimed, correctly, that he received twice as much in donations from members of the military as all other candidates combined.

            • KenInMontana

I put the phrase in quotation marks is because it is used ad nauseum by Paul’s supporters as if it is some kind of “mandate” and we should fall into line with their way of thinking because of it. This meme is played over and over on the blogs as if it grants some type of moral high ground. That said it is not a falsehood, nor is it a quotation of what you wrote, but a reference to that meme. I place quotations in block quotes, like this,

I am supporting the man whom the troops are supporting.

BTW, that is a direct quote from your post and it sure looks like you are implying all “The Troops” are backing your candidate, as you made no effort to qualify it.

JA….go ahead and support a grumpy old man who would rather save the life of a terrorist.>>> http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_CLERIC_KILLED_RON_PAUL?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2011-09-30-10-34-45

I’ll stick with a man that has little political baggage to speak of.

      • Anonymous

He is not trying to save the life of a terrorist, he is trying to save the life of the Constitution. It should not be too difficult to distinguish between the dangers posed by one American in a foreign country who was never charged with a crime and the dangers posed by a government that endorses secret prisons, torture and the assassination of American citizens.

Go ahead, GiantM, and support a man with little political baggage to speak of and as equally little economic understanding.

I’m really liken this 999 plan! I wish he would have done an 888 or 101010. Christens may not vote for him because 999 exposed to be the mark beast. LOL! His plan will get rid of alot of corruption in polititics! You would have to set it up with a super-duper majority vote! The establishment will cry for more money or pick up a bum off the street to to give a false impression of it’s unfair for the working poor and the rich needs to pay more! Lol again!

Right now I’m a Palin fan but I am becoming a Hermnator fan as well. I’ll be deeply satisfy with one or the other!

    Palin, Cain 2012!!!!

    • Anonymous

Yah 777 would of been nice being that I to am a B.A.C, but 999 does not scare me. Anyone who thinks that flipping it over is going to ruin his campaign needs to think outside the box here.

I’m sure Cain was aware of what that number implied when inverted? He went ahead with it anyway and most likely because it’s not a matter of image but it’s all about saving the country from the IRS/Marxist!

      • Anonymous

If Herman gets rid of EPA, IRS, & Dept of Energy we could lucky number 7′s baby!

        Palin, Cain 2012!

          Palin/West sounds good, too….

Do you hear that? That is the sound of all the glowing reviews of how Herman is one! Like what we heard the media said about Perry. What they continue to say about Romney!

    Palin, Cain 2012!!!

I did not know that the the 999 plan would also replace the payroll tax, which is REGRESSIVE. A flat tax that replaces the regressive payroll tax and the progressive income and corporate taxes. Simplicity and certainty. No taxes on used goods is another strong point.

Pretty easy to run against this guy. Obama will be conservative in comparison. He can just say “Well, for the first time in History the GOP challenger is running on a platform of creating a whole NEW tax!” LOL

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_RDUM7PJBQIFRKVT7C3BBNMP2NQ LeoS

You’ve got it all twisted. You of course ignore the elimination of other taxes. You don’t want your beloved POS president to lose, ohhh I feel sorry for the donkeys come next year, IF THEY DON’T SUCCEED in SUSPENDING ELECTIONS.

Herman has a plan, I like that, his plan will change the tax system. I know that is a change we will all welcome. I will stand behind him on his plan and a real change, we can count on. I am a democrat and I have never voted for a republican. Obama has lost my vote, and I like what I see in Herman Cain.

    • Anonymous

Welcome to TRS from a former democrat – we have several here. Looking forward to your next comment.

I have liked Herman Cain from the first time I heard him speak – haven’t done enough study on his 999 plan but from what I have learned so far it sounds like a good one.

  • Anonymous

Cain is amazing in this appearance. He is getting better as a candidate, a very good sign of his capacity to get elected and to be president. Maybe not so surprising, given his executive background.

  • Anonymous

For a long time I’ve been saying Palin/Cain would get my vote. I’m beginning to think – even should Sarah decide to run – that Cain would be my vote. The guy is pure class.

  • Anonymous

My dream ticket: Herman Cain for pres, Marco Rubio for VP. And Newt must be sec of the Treasury or have some equally influential role.

  • Anonymous

I love Herman Cain! What an opportunity to have someone with great experience in the White House! Besides, how cool would it be to get to vote for an actual African-American! Obama is not from the African-American community: his Mom was a white Marxist and his dad was a Kenyan Marxist. If I were black, I’d be insulted that whites folk trample over worthy African-American candidates (or would-be candidates, Ms. Rice, Gen. Powell, I’m thinking of you) in their rush to vote for a dark-skinned (biracial, thank you, not black) man with virtually no experience, just because he talks like a white person! Well, and he has a fabulous speechwriter. But isn’t that the most back-handed insult ever?? Oooo, we’re liberal, we want to vote for a “black,” oh, but none of you that actually grew up here need to apply… it just makes me ill.

Great job Mr. Cain! You sir are a patriot and we love you.
