Hilda Solis excited about manufacturing growth even though it’s not growing

Geez. Let me quote from Ed Morrissey this morning:

[via ABC News] “New orders for factory products tumbled much more than expected in May, posting their sharpest drop since the depth of the recession and their first decline in nine months, a government report showed on Friday.”

[Ed Morrissey] Manufacturing actually added 9,000 jobs last month, so this drop back to a 15-month low may mean that those jobs will be back on the chopping block this summer. The drop in factory orders also draws to a close a year-long movement towards inventory growth rather than actual consumption.

So unemployment is looking terrible with over 650,000 people leaving the work force, and manufacturing orders are down and the small jobs gain that’s being touted now will likely fall due to falling manufacturing orders.

So armed with the facts, now listen to Hilda Solis lie to the American people, just like her boss:

To quote a somewhat famous old man, “don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining!”
