Finally, someone famous who comes out on the side of being pro-guns. Great little interview:

What is with these British pansies on our networks over here? I find it incredibly insulting that liberals from Britain should discuss our right to bear arms, considering we have that right specifically because of their country. As for Ice T, I just don't like the guy. I agree with part of what he said here, but protecting ourselves from the police? No, we need to protect ourselves from our government. Rappers get on my last nerve, not because of their music, but because of the hatred of whites and law and order they carry inside them. It never goes away.

This man learned to distrust police and all of white society from his mother. Does anyone really think a hoodlum will give up his guns when everybody else does? Look at him Do you believe that?

Typical slick pimp and con and he'll never shake it. There is nothing honest about this man. He is not a great american and for whatever he says about himself, I will believe the opposite.

Ah, Chicago: The windy city, The city by the lake, hometown of our prezy, murder capital of the the United States.

On June 27th, it reached 250 murders since January and the year isn't even half over yet. Homicide is up 36 percent compared to the same period last year.

24 more between July 1st and July 18th.

Most of the homicide victims were black. (Sorry,I didn't mean to mention they were black.)

27 of those deaths were stabbings, my guess it that it is a little more difficult to kill someone by stabbing than with a gun, I don't have the stats on total stabbings.

The amount of stabbings alone in the windy city this year are more than double the amount of moviegoers murdered in a theater in Aurora, CO.

The mayor of the city by the lake is formerly the Chief of Staff in Obama's administration.

Rahm Emmanuel appealed to the murderers to not stand by children when they get the urge to shoot somebody and, I guess, if they think they are about to get shot at.

Did I mention the prezy is from Chicago?

The prezy met with the white victims in Aurora, CO yesterday, to give them comfort after the tragedy. (Sorry, I didn't mean to mention that they were white.)

Is Colorado a battleground state? I think it is.

Is Illinois a battleground state? I don't think it is, it's blue as the Pacific ocean.

Black people shooting black people is no cause for alarm, as though we expect it from savages. No outcry, no community leaders screaming for the prezy to comfort the victims families or even a call to round up the guns in the war zone. Nothing!

The media will highlight the family of a murderer crying and screaming about injustice and their sweet child having to go to prison, and about the disparity between whites and blacks in prison.

The city of Chicago is a damn war zone and nobody cares, not the media, not the city leaders, not even the citizens!

What the Democrats have done to these communities is a crime, they not only condone the murders but then they cover it up, and the people have been conditioned to accept it.

But if a white person shoots somebody, the constitution be damned, they MUST grab all of the legal guns.

It is obvious they will only take legal guns from law abiding people. The Chicago thugs and other criminals will continue to have their unregistered, illegal guns and the killings will extend beyond their brothers.

What a shame. What a sham!

Tongoon; You said, "I didn't mean to mention that they were black." I recognized the context.

I remember when an entire nation felt like that. We didn't like it when the newspapers or tv mentioned that the perpetrator, the shooter, the rapist, the armed robber, the looter and the mob were black.

You tongoon, a gentle soul, have come along way but. like Obama says, you didn't do it by yourself. You've had the assistance of the CBC, Maxine, Sheila, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Rodney King, Trayvon Martin and his mother and fathers, the black panther at at the voting site and the black panthers offering a million dollars, in food stamps, for the capture of Zimmerman.

You and I both criticized the President and his fellow mongreloids for refusing to name the enemy of our country- Islam and every Muslim on the planet. We cringe when we heard a grown men say, "man caused disasters."

I would have been ready to let this skin color issue drop in 1967. But since then, the color persists, not becaue of you and me but becasue color has become a badge of distinction. Black culture and the black racists who thrive like maggots on racism will not allow the community to accept its responsibilities as full-fledged citizens and members of this society and let go of the apron strings of race, the ties to a continent there forebears left 600 years ago.

You will never hear the term "black" used more often to refer to a "man" than by a political, racist black subversive.

There are blacks who desire and profit from segregation of the races. I know you don not wish to paint an entire people with the same brush and neither do I. But if you cannot name the enemy and easily identify and isolate him, you are destined to be defeated.

Have the war. Name the demon. When it's over, the survivors will work it out.

It's past the time we need to be calling it out. It is inspiring that the right minded people in this country are beginning to stand up and be heard. I am going to be among them.

The clarion call for those who love America and her Constitution is sounding and the sleeping bear is waking again....and she's pissed!

Also the government owns these people, they have been moving them out of the slums in the city into more traditional cities, towns, and villages where the crime rate was barely existent and murder was never even heard of except in the newspapers.

So much for spreading the wealth around. They are spreading the misery around instead and taking all the wealth to divide among themselves.

I didn't like the line when he said that guns were to protect people from cops either.

Sober_Thinking

I appreciate his attitude and sentiment but having guns "to protect yourself from the police" was a rather ignorant statement.

This clod interviewer was trying every angle to get Ice to say it's bad to own guns... I hate morons like this guy (Martin Bashir?).

Considering Ice T's world, he has to be packing because we all know how gansta's roll.

Awesome responses by Ice-T and so glad that he got the purpose of the 2d Amendment correct, while Bill O got it wrong last night. The 2d Amendment exists not to allow us to hunt or protect ourselves from criminals but to protect ourselves from government. Protecting ourselves from criminals and hunting are just a bonus.

I love how he didn't stammer or go into super detail in his responses but just looked at the host and asked him simple questions about it. You could tell the host was trying to reach for something. Totally got smacked down by Ice-T.

Edit: My favorite part though had to be when the host asked:

host: "So do you have a gun at home?"

Ice-T: "Yeah, it's legal in the United States."

BOOM!

I like this site. It appears to be an assemblage of intelligent souls, for the most part. I visit a number of other sites. I'm sure the rest of you do the same. This one appears to be a clean site. That is, it does not contain all the mean comments against other members that are so prevalent on other sites. Am I just being a wuss? Perhaps. All I know is that I enjoy the perspective and the occasional different slant of those who may not agree with everything I say or comment on. This country is in deep trouble. I want to hear the opinions of anyone who thinks they have a solution to our dilemma. I'm pretty simple that way.

Whitewolf2009

Hi white531! Welcome to TRS! I came here to this site after FoxNews and FoxNation pulled all comments. Like you, I found the people here to be intelligent, knowledgeable and friendly. So much so in fact that I find myself often learning more from the following discussion than the actual news article itself. I love it here now, and even if Fox ever opens it's comments again, I'll not leave here - unless Scoops boots me off LOL! (looks around warily). Great people, great website, what more could anyone ask for! God Bless and once again welcome.

I used to go to Opposing Views, but the format is terrible. On this site you only get an email if someone says something directly to you, and it takes you directly to the comment or you can reply to it directly from your email. It's a trainwreck on OV and it's difficult tracking down comments made to you. No thanks. This site is much better managed and has better people on it.

I sometimes go on CNSnews and DailyTalker, but neither beat TRS for good, informative news and discussion.

Bible prophesy generally inhibits my ability to give people much hope for the future of the US, but it is always nice to ponder the solutions in theory.

After watching "The Money Masters" and others, the central bank has to go, and government must be held to accounting.

The people of this country would have to rise up and demand that all treaties of recent history must be abandoned.

Most of the federal bureaucracies must be shut down, and the welfare state must be phased out as quickly as possible.

The sixteenth amendment must be repealed.

Property ownership must be restored.

Warfare for the sake of resource allocation must end, and domestic energy must be developed.

The borders must be guarded, and our sovereignty must then take priority in all that we do.

We must then pull out of the UN entirely and take back control of our national lands.

After that is done, all federal lands must be returned to the states.

The fourth amendment must be restored by repealing the Patriot Act and the most recent NDAA.

The supreme court justices must be thrown out, and a new liberty minded constitutional court put in place.

The AJ's office needs to be an elected office, not appointed by corrupt presidents.

Senators should not be elected by the people, but appointed by the states.

Prosecution must take place for politicians who do not live up to their promises.

Local control of law enforcement and education must be restored.

There is much more, but that is a good start.

white531

Why do you think they want to take away our guns, folks? Because what they have in mind for our future cannot be accomplished so long as we are armed and dangerous. Praise be to God, let us all remain armed and dangerous.

white531
white531

It has always been amazing to me how everyone is so much more friendly, once they realize that there are others in the room who are armed and experienced in the use of weapons. The Second Amendment is not just an Amendment. It is something to live by. It is the only thing that will save this country against those who want to turn us into a Socialist country. It amazes me that people can't see that.

librtifirst
librtifirst

I experienced that last week. I was open carrying on my way to go shooting. I went into a convenience store and everyone was very nice and polite. So was I, but in retrospect I realized why. I would prefer that everyone was packing so that I wouldn't be the odd guy out.

By the way, we are living in a socialist system. If you shut down all of the social systems, we would see an instantaneous collapse.

That young man, Jordan Ghawi, was so composed and determined to have the victims and families be the story, and rightly so. We don't need to see the sick b*****d perpetrator on tv, he's done his damage. Jordan G is exactly right - very well said.

Nice thing to know, that the 2nd amendment is popular on the other side of the aisle. He is going to be slapped down by the liberal media soon. He had a couple of comments that I disagree with. About the "justice on the stolen land" and the other one about the police. He is still a lib and therefore the enemy number 1.

The real reason the UN wants our guns. This starts our slowly but them gets going and it is amazing that all the stuff obama and the left have been doing is in bible prophecy. No wonder obama hates, Christians and Jews.

Another 60 seconds and the interviewer would have thrown his hands up in the air and said, "I QUIT!". Ice T's answers were spot on and the exact opposite of what the interviewer wanted him to say.

In light of the tragedy, it would be great to see signs in windows banning the carriage of a concealed weapon taken down. Those signs are invitations for criminals to rob a place because no one can fight back.

Dude, seriously. Honestly, I'm not impressed. To me, he's just another leftist that comes out in support of something that he, personally, supports, that just happens to coincide with what Conservatives believe in. That means he's no better than John Lovitz, who's crying about taxes, only because he wants more money, now that his career's gone up in smoke, and he needs every penny he can get to maintain that coke habit. You people may forget it, but I won't forget the fact that this guy draws a paycheck from one of the most rabidly anti-Conservative, anti-Republican programs on TV: Law & Order: SVU, where he plays a Conservative hating liberal that has a gay son and a bitter ultraleftist for a partner (a holdover from Homicide: Life on the Streets). Dick Wolf, the series creator, is a scumbag, and it shows in his writings that Ice-T fits into like a hand in glove. The guy sings about murder and drug dealing, and you're surprised he's a gun fan? Then, he caps off his "Conservative" talk by saying:

"You'll never have justice on stolen land"?

Seriously?

Their reservation is only 19 acres, though they have bought up a lot of land otherwise.

You are talking to a person who just finished cutting his wheat crop with a scythe, then bundled it with twine by hand. Let me own some land, and I won't need the 21st century. We are witnessing the last days. That is what the 21st century has to offer.

Our best days are behind us. Global government is all that we have to look forward to now, and it won't be better than what we have had in the past. If we don't wake up to the selling out of our sovereignty, the US will just melt away.
