This is the guy who is trying to transform the health care insurance industry, and he doesn’t even understand simple liability insurance (H/T Ed Morrissey):
Mr. President, they laughed at you because you were supposed to call the insurance of the person who hit you! If you buy liability insurance, it doesn’t cover you, it covers the other person if you cause an accident. If you didn’t cause the accident, which is almost 100% of the time in cases of being rear-ended, then it wasn’t your fault. However, if it was your fault, for whatever reason, then you would need collision insurance to fix your car.
Sheesh. How did this guy get elected?
