Washington Journal was very entertaining this morning as Jason Mattera was given an opportunity to articulate conservative values to a large CSPAN audience. Like most in the CSPAN audience, this was my first time hearing Jason speak at length and I must say I was quite impressed. He is very informed on the issues he has written about and was able to easily refute arguments from callers based on actual substance rather than platitudes.

What was especially entertaining was that several callers simply didn’t like him because he was ‘so young’ and they mentioned (I believe) on a couple of occasions that he was acting like a know it all. I can understand why they got that impression because Jason did seem to ‘know it all’ this morning. Once they hung up Jason quickly identified them as ‘Obama Zombies’. No doubt that he was right on the money there. I would have loved to hear a caller’s response to that, though I doubt it would have been aired. On the other side of the spectrum, I dare say that maybe 2 callers actually supported him, which made for an even better discussion.

It runs about 38 minutes but I assure you it’s worth watching.

Enjoy:

This is where "Conservatism" fails for folks like myself. Regan IS the BEST president in my life up to date, but he ALSO had his flaws. Overspending on defense and revamping the "War on Drugs," as well as giving the FCC even more power because some minister (I believe he was from Mississippi.) didn't like certain content on the radio? These are ALSO supportive of "big government."I think Ron Paul said it BEST at that...crap...what was it called? SRLC or something like that? He said "You can't just limit government in some areas and keep it large in others. You have to be for limited government all around, if you really want to solve the current problems we face."

Seriously, bro? The Iraq war WON? Why are we still there and planning to be until 2011? We as a nation have allowed ourselves to take part in this "we'll help everyone else in the world." Even if we leave in 2011, we'll be right back in unless we change our defense strategy entirely. If you honestly think it was Russia & China and not the Federal Reserve, then you need to dig deeper into the REAL hidden story.Also...Bush...HONORABLE. Now I KNOW you're joking. Suspending Habeas Corpus in favor of indefinite detention, instilling the Patriot Act as a license to spy on people, and turning a $200B surplus into a $1T deficit I would HARDLY call "honorable."On other words...Bush LAID THE PATHWAY for this radical president we have now to EXPAND on. It was all a part of the scam all along. Do we REALLY think that the GOP couldn't have gotten a better guy for the job of Republican opponent than McCain? C'MON, now.

I wish he could have gone on a bit more on Reagen. A lot of people don't understand he would not have left us with a deficit... there was a lot of waste he wanted to get rid of... but he had to rebuild our defense after Carter got done with it. Congress does indeed hold the purse strings. That's why we need to vote them all out...

It's hard to listen to the Zombies. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. There's no convincing them that their fascist liberalism is destroying this country until the day comes when China and Russia join together to try and dump US Debts in attempt to collapse the market like they did right when Bush left office. That was the reason Bush had to support the bailout (that no conservative ever would have) and the media hide that story. That's right. Russia and China tried to collapse the market and Bush had to guarantee the banks so they couldn't be crippled. It worked, and 380 Billion reserve was handed off to Obama in fashion no Democrat President ever would have (they would have spent every dime on their pet programs and never given it to Republican president). You can hate Bush all day long, but history doesn't lie and Bush left office with the Iraq war won, the bank wipeout attempt by the Soviets thwarted, and honor that Clinton lost restored. http://punditpawn.wordpress.com
