Ban violence - innocents shouldn't have the right or ability to protect themselves or their family.
Notable exception: it's okay by them to tear babies apart in the womb - 55+ million and growing - thousands murdered daily.
The woman declares she has a vagina and she votes. What if a man said "I have a penis and I vote". I wonder what would happen? Some man needs to try that.

I started carrying when I worked 3rd shift in the hospital that was 30 years ago and still do......................My father bought me my pistol, he was a great Dad!
I know many women who carry, older women at that. The reason? most of them have been attacked at some point and want to feel safe.
I support them and all women who choose to take the classes and become qualified.
I am elderly but that is not my reason for not doing this. I have severe arthritus in shoulders, elbows and fingers. I envy those who can.
You'd be surprised how much easier some of the new semi-autos are to fire. You might think of reaching out to a gun range to see if they can recommend some for you to rent and test fire (with a trained instructor of course).
So in other words they have no interest in ending violence against women. They just want an excuse to protest so they look like they care.

If someone is thinking about raping, beating, or killing me, am I going to threaten them with "speaking out?" I can just imagine "Please Mr. Rapist, go away or I will speak out loudly against you in very strongly worded language."

End violence against women, do not allow them to be armed. It only makes things worse when these women shoot their attackers.
Only a whiff. I have always wondered why the women who are the most vocal for women's rights are also the same women who do not want to see them to actually be able to protect themselves.
How is a five foot 100 pound female suppose to protect herself from a six foot six inch three hundred pound attacker without a gun? Discuss it with him?

1) Woman found dead. Suspected sexually assaulted.
2) Woman stops attempted rapist dead in his tracks. Perp has prior record of attacks on women.
Ask them which story they want their name associated with.
Some women may be victims, but others choose NOT to be victims!

My son has a friend who lives in Lansing. He has a concealed carry permit and a few nice handguns. He was walking to the store to get a bottle of wine, but had already had a bit so he didn't carry...that would be illegal. A black man approached him from behind, and hit him on the head. Then asked for all his money. He refused and started to walk away. The guy shot him in the butt and my son's friend broke the wine bottle he'd just purchased, over his head. Didn't phase the guy much who then held the gun to his head and robbed him of approx. $30.00. The guy was caught and is in jail on several charges. The friend still has a bullet in his butt and is walking with a cane. This happened last week.
Attackers like this need to understand that if they attempt this, it may very well be the last thing they ever do. Had he been carrying, the perp would be dead.
Women especially need guns. They need to carry them. They need to be proficient in their use.
I sure hope they throw the book at that scum of the earth bastard! Attempted murder! 20 years minimum in a max prison!

I also agree that if you are going to carry, you need to be trained and proficient in their use and should practice at a range often so that it's second nature and you are completely comfortable with the gun and how to use it.
Guns are the great equalizer. The 5'2" frail old lady can defend herself just fine with one against a 6'6" 260lbs linebacker of a man.
1st I would like to address the statement made at the beginning of the video, "I'm a woman and I have a vagina." Wow, thanks for the biology / human sexuality lesson. The question as proposed by the video is should women be allowed to use the, conceal & carry option. I disagree, it should be framed in the arena of encouraging women to opt for conceal & carry. It is in my humble opinion nothing enforces a woman's right to say NO like parting the hair of a, would be rapist with a .357 magnum round. Look, there are women who can whip the butt of many men. The question is what about the women who can't defend themselves with their bare hands. Or, God forbid, the, would be racist decides to bring a knife to enforce his ability to rape a defenseless woman. Ted Nugent repeated this correctly and recently, "An armed society is a polite society." The woman who said that she would prefer other options for controlling violence against women is missing the point. Why limit a person's ability to protect themselves; when the people they are trying to get protection from will not limit their ability to cause harm? The last point that just made me laugh was the "Condom Czar" comment. Look, if people want to have sex, then the responsibility of this belongs solely to those choosing to engage in this activity. With stupid thinking like making the taxpayers responsible for buying condoms so anyone can have sex would be the same as saying the taxpayer is responsible for buying auto insurance for anyone that wants to drive. Not that the liberals won't try this later.

Big day for me tomorrow Korndog. I have another visit with the surgeon who will be doing the surgery to implant the defib in my chest. He wants to 'measure' my chest for the ICD.
I asked him just how damn big the gadget was going to be and told him that if he can't fit something that is supposed to be the size of a deck of cards into my 52" chest, then I didn't want it cause it must be the size of a truck battery!
Thankfully, he has a sense of humor, cause he'll be taking a sharp scapel to my chest! (Sure don't want to tick him off!)
I'll know tomorrow when the surgery will be and will let ya know. Hopefully this will be the last time they have to open my chest! It's not much fun ya know! VG

When Sarah announced that she wasn't going to run, I made a bunch of comments that the best thing for her to do was lay low for awhile so the donkeys couldn't call her quitter. Sure enough, the low info commenters thought I was saying that about her.
Next thing I know is my login failed. Screw 'em if they can't read properly and/or at least tell someone before dropping the hammer. Funny part is that Sarah did exactly what I suggested.

OK, I'll tell you the story...
Our nursing program learns with cadavers. Three top students were chosen to be on what is called the "Dissection Team." I have the honor of being one of those three who works alongside a doctor as we prepare cadavers (we receive in depth one-on-one instruction and more Units) for the students to be tested for the Anatomy & Physiology instruction and practicals. We were working on a brand new cadaver. It was very quiet in the room when we discovered he had a defib. It was interesting, and of course the doctor showed how it worked, and explain its purpose. Afterwards, we went back to quietly concentrating on our project. Suddenly, a very loud beeping started coming out of the defib and we all were just about startled out of OUR skins! Even the doctor!! It was so funny... I swear, we laughed so hard. Well, you know, it takes a cadaver about 1 year to cure in special chemicals, so that attested to the durability of defibs!

Yes, you could say so. After my husband passed away, I returned to college to earn a BSN and I will be entering my 4th year soon. I struggled along in retail management for a year after he passed and after awhile decide to take the plunge and do what I was created to do... be a nurse. We have 5 son's (three are older and very helpful to me), this career will provide much better for our family. My father just had a defib put in, he is doing very well. God blessings upon the doctors and you sir...
I had a funny story about a defib... but, it involved a cadaver, so I thought I thought I shouldn't tell you. But, it WAS'NT the defib that took the guy out. LOL!

I've been blessed with a great cardio team and they've keep me alive to this point. I will say however, Thank God for insurance as well. As of this writing, I've had over 3/4 of a million dollars invested in my chest. By the time the next surgery is billed, along with the myriad of follow up visits and lab tests, it will be over 1 million of which 20% comes from out of my pocket! SHUDDER! lol VG

I won't lie to you my dear friend, I am tired of spending so much time in the hospital getting my lungs drained. It leaves me weak and tired. It isn't what I would call living, just existing.
It seems as if I've spent as much time in the ER and cardio ward as I have at home. Yes, I know I've been home more then at the hospital, but it is all starting to blur in my memory.
I pray that this stuff is over soon. I want to be able to go outside and 'blow snow' too! lol.
Seriously, unless the doctors can find a treatment that keeps my lungs clear, or even MOSTLY clear, of fluids, this old diver is going to die by drowning in my own lungs. As I have said before, I find that to be amusingly ironic. Don't you? VG
Yes, there is VG and I am predicting that you will be out there enjoying it very soon. Hang in there as we have heard that the cardio folks that you have in your neck of the woods are excellent. Thanks Wolfie. I don't think he's gonna cut on me tomorrow, but hopefully we'll get the gizmo in so I can get on with my life, in the next week or so. All the defib is for is to monitor and shock my heart if it goes into arrythmia. My cardio guys are afraid to get real aggressive with treating my CHF until that is in place.
In the meantime my CHF is advancing rapidly and I spend most of a 24 hour day, whether I'm awake or asleep with oxygen running into my lungs. Not much fun but it keeps me alive, and mostly stuck at home! Is there still a big wide world out there? VG
