Wow. Aside from it being just truly great singing, I think the crowd was cheering someone finally singing the anthem without putting all kinds of crazy runs and extra notes. This guy just SUNG it. And the crowd appreciated it straight forward.
That was powerful, but not beautiful. I've listened to four little girls bring more life to the banner than most. Whitney's performance was top knotch. I agree many try too hard, and inevitably ruin it.

I have to admit I had to look him up to know who he is, but my goodness he's got a voice! I don't watch football, hockey is more my game (go figure) so the Black Hawks I know, the Bears, not so much as far as watching pre games go. Thanks for posting this Scoop. It's nice to hear our National anthem sung so beautifully.

That ring is the Chicago Blackhawks 2010 stanley cup winning ring! This guy is awesome and we are glad we have him here in Chicago...If ever get the chance...attend a Blackhawks game at the United Center is Chicago...you will never feel the same about the anthem...Great job Mr. Cornelison!

I just listened to Jordin Sparks sing it in Arizona and after hearing Cornelison, it was about as meh as it could get.

He can really belt it out. At the end of the Anthem, he sings and holds Brave what seems forever.
And there's no question that he put everything he had into singing the National Anthem. I love how the crowd cheers through the whole song.
