I hate to say that this guy is right about anything, but Christians are not any different than the rest of society concerning materialism and nationalism. I see it all too much. When I talk to Christians about debt they almost always justify their extended circumstances. I personally have no credit cards or debt other than my home, which is carried by family and is $570 per month. Lower than a one bedroom apartment. I don’t even like that debt. Though they might say that they put God first, they are generally fervent nationalists who support the wars, taxation, regulation, and all the rest. They don’t seem to understand the inherent freedom given to them by their God and how it should carry out through their lives. Christians should have a better understanding, and conviction, concerning how corrupt and criminal our government is. They should be looking for our gvnmt to be taking away our inalienable rights for the purpose of one world gvnmt. Especially in these times we live in. They may be interested in saving souls, but they offer nothing else that is different from everyone else concerning how they live. Christians should all be Libertarians with a staunch aggression, politically speaking.

You buying the “all Christians are phony” line? Here’s one I bet you would appreciate. All blacks are lazy and stupid. All Catholics are molesters I seriously doubt he knows that many Christians anyhow.

Yeah. I bet he hasn’t volunteered to minister to the elderly for years. I bet he doesn’t teach School. I’ll bet he has never been in 5 different churches in the last 15 years from Sacramento to Eugene Oregon. He aint probly nevr red a bible.

Yes the millions of Christians are all the exact same. Of course every Christian is a materialist I mean gosh those church thingys do absolutely nothing to help anybody, o wait…
- Paulchri
Come on man. Statistically, the divorce rate is no different. Nor is the amount of debt that Christians have. I don’t know all the statistics, but if Christians lived a modest lifestyle and had true convictions about biblical teachings, they would be a more attractive alternative in today’s world. The cults figured this out, and are growing at huge rates. The cults teach, and practically require, traditional family structure. They use their wealth to grow their business’ and take care of their own. They have their own welfare systems that employ who they can, and feed the rest. Their divorce rates are considerably lower than the rest of society. They can weather hard times much better, due to preparedness. It is insulting to my God that the cults have more Godly lifestyles than Christians do.
I never said that every Christian is the same. Obviously I am not. I do know Christians who are also different, but it is one out of 100. Through the years I have been in churches with 600 people, and churches with 35 people. The ones with 35 tend to be more closely nit, and better grounded in biblical principles. That is not main stream. Main stream is to grow to bigger numbers and continuously see growth. Many churches go into massive amounts of debt to do it. I am very good friends with a pastor who is a “no debt” kind of guy. His church affiliation required him to go into debt in his church, then constantly focused on growth and income. It sucks, but that is main stream Christianity.
Main stream teaches justification for divorce. Mathew 19 does not allow for divorce, but newer translations have screwed up the context and the words to make it so. When the obvious is presented to the elders, they don’t want to reason it out, they just hand you their doctrinal statements and say “this is what we believe”. The same pastors spew warmongering nationalistic crap from the pulpit. They expect unquestioned respect and obedience to their freaking “Godly” church positions. They are almost as bad as the cults. The 700 club does the same things. They are almost as un-Godly as the liberal leftists, just in different ways. Anyone who truly understands the love of God, and how we are supposed to transmit that love to others, must question doctrines that say you can abandon your covenant because of one sin, and not another. You can spend the rest of your life unwilling to truly forgive that person for one act. Forgiveness is not conditional. Either all things are forgivable, or non are. If none are, then we are all going to hell. The word used in Mathew 19:9 for “sexual immorality” is not translated properly to say it is “adultery”. King James got it right when he used “fornication”. Which is done before the covenant, and only in the context of a legal marriage of the time which was betrothal. Its a simple concept that anyone who understands these things should know, and act on if they have any conviction concerning the most important worldly relationship that exists.
Some even say that Christian’s divorce rates are slightly higher than the rest of society. Maybe that is because they run to their “contemporary bible” and their worldly pastors and get permission to write off their spouse. That tells me that the “world” has more forgiveness than we do.
There is a country music song that says “I am a man of conviction, call me wrong, call me right”, and “hate me if you want to, love me if you can”. A man of conviction will be hated by those who have no conviction, even in their own circles. It takes a person of conviction to love when it is difficult.
I’m done.
- Twaynepar
Christianity would be more attractive if Christians weren’t such hypocrites; Is that what you’re saying? Modesty and true convictions gets nothing but laughs and derision. Acting like Christ will get you killed quicker than it did 2,000 years ago. How’s your nuts Paulie?
Narrow is the way and straight is the gate, Paulie. Do you think everyone who says Lord, Lord will find a way home Paulie? What a laugh. You’re anything but deep, pal. Do us all a favor and stay away from Christ. You don’t have the balls for it. Pussy
- Paulchri
Ok. Sure. Whatever. Who cares what modesty and conviction gets you? It has nothing to do with other people, just who you are. Yes, I am saying that Christians are hypocrites. To deny it would be a lie. Though flawed and sinful, we must still stand for our convictions, but you need to have them first.
- las
Paulchri… good points. You are right about contemporary Christians being so unlike the culture around them. I agree totally. It’s this truth that Wallace is hitting upon, except his solution would be to adopt a godless redistributionist “salvation by works” thoroughly anti-Christian heresy. Christians so thoroughly attached to the culture need to get off the wide road and enter the narrow gate. Prosperity while not evil can definitely turn hearts away from their Lord. Prosperity is not the issue…. fleshly living is.
Wallace’s brand of Christianity reminds me of the sneering sanctimony of Judas who claimed that this “money should be given to the poor”. That’s Wallace’s theology. For Wallace it’s not about the poor… it’s about power.
- las
sorry… that should be:
” You are right about contemporary Christians being so very much like the culture around them.”sheesh… thinking and typing (hate multi tasking)
- Simmy
I seem to be experienceing the same difficulties today las – with writing I mean – hope you all exuse the typos.
Sheesh!
LOL - Simmy
Sadly I have to agree that many Christians are not living set-apart lives as we should be. Many have been swept away with materialism. (Christmas is a very good example of what is now a “merchants holiday”. We are more stressed over what to buy for whom, and worry more about whether or not they’ll like it or toss the gift away, than we are in being committed to a solemn observance of the Day means.)
The short and simple answer to this problem is that Christians in America need to wake up and repent.
- Twaynepar
Who are you trying to please Simmy? How many people have you asked “Are you a Christian?” in the last year? None. If you’re going to really judge and run everybody into The Pit, we still need good folks to visit the Orphan’s Home, Rest Homes, Prisons. Try it. It will humble and break your heart. And don’t worry about These throwing away your present, if you bother to take one. A pack of cigarettes, a small toy, canned food will bring a look you’ll never forget. Personally, I think you’re just like Paulie. Pussy lookin for love in all the wrong places. Prove me wrong and show up for a “committed, solemn observance”.
- Twaynepar
Have you or Paulie ever spent time in Jail or Prison? Been bed ridden for months or years? Forgotten? Try it sometime.
- Paulchri
You certainly are quick to attack people personally for their opinions. Try attacking the argument rather than the person. Do you complain about Sara Palin being attacked personally all the time. If you do, then you sir, are also a hypocrite. Just like the rest of us. Yes I do know what it is like to visit the elderly every week for years. I know what it is like to see someone saved after teaching a bible study in a nursing home. I also know what it is to see that person die after knowing them for a long time. I have also seen the cults come into nursing homes and forbid the elderly from hearing a non-cult message, and after time breaking through that barrier. Spew all you want, but turn it back on yourself.
- Dheff73
Jim Wallis may say he is a Christian and only God knows a mans heart but in my humble thinking Mr Jim Wallis is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and is not a Christian.

Sorry Mr. Wallace, you d*&k head, America’s in decline for selling out their faith to snake oil social justice left wing virulently anti-Christian haters of prosperity types like you…masquerading as sanctimonious soldiers of righteousness for socialist systems that have already proven to be colossal historical failures. You just didn’t get the memo.
I remember you “Sojourner” types from the mid seventies in academia… ashamed of their loyalty to Christ and personal personal salvation, opting instead to ram down everybody’s throats your social justice crap snake oil so you could feel superior and righteous… reworking the tenants of Christ so that He would have relevance, at least in your fevered minds.
You contaminate the young, because they have not learned the smarts to stand up against the suicide peddlers, and they become twice the disciple of hell that you are yourself sir! You inhabit academia presently, and we are all the more sorry for it now as well.

Spiritual advisor? This man and the fool he advises along with the rest of this administration and democratic party have already lost their fight as their agenda sees the light of day, and it won’t get any better for them. More and more people are seeing them as they are, angry, dishonest, deceitful people full of hatred. Hatred for America, hatred for freedom, for Christianity, for decency, for charity [unless it's doled out by them], hatred for freedom of speech and the press [unless given their approval], these are truly the worst of the worst, truly evil people intent on fundamentally changing America, changing as Michelle Obama has said America’s history and customs. These are people who actually believe America is the bad guy, the terrorists are the people who get all of their sympathy and legal protections. What else would you expect from people whose blueprint for power is Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” , a book dedicated “to the first radical, Lucifer”. Truly evil people.
- Frank
The bible tells people to be charitable. The bible does not tell the government to steal from those who have, and give to those who don’t. Jesus was always critical of the “tax collector”.

“As GLENN BECK proclaimed last week on Dec.9,2010 the REVOLUTION has started and Rush L. warned of upcoming societal chaos as is now in London once we take control of Congress in January 2011 . So prepare for a NON VIOLENT REVOLUTION against these SCUM BAGS who hide behind their Union thugs . We will let our MILITARY take back the U.S.CONSTITUTION and the RIGHTS of all LIBERTY loving AMERICANS . THE TRUTH WILL SET US ALL FREE !”
- Frank
I don’t know what the military is waiting for. It’s their duty to defend the constitution.
- Paulchri
All public officials take the Oath. That is what Oath Keepers is all about. They are trying to spark an awareness of what it means and get gvnmt individuals to adhere to it. At the same time, the military quit teaching the constitution in boot camp. The educational system is ignoring it, if not changing the meaning of it. Our young troops don’t really know what they are promising to do. After they take the oath, if they still do, they aren’t well enough informed or reminded about it. They are taught to obey orders, and Catrina proved that they will. They went house to house disarming people and ransacking houses to do it. Some military personnel who were asked about it said that it didn’t seem right, but they were just following orders. Unless the people giving the orders are doing the right thing, anything is possible for them.

Are we speaking here of Jim Wallis, who, in years gone by, was a member of
SDS, or Students for A Democratic Society? Do some research on that hard
left group from the 1960s and the credibility of Wallis is vastly diminished. - Anonymous
The credibility of the man who chose him as Spiritual Advisor should be diminished, but unfortunately the liberals are not playing with a full deck.
- Simmy
Spead the word DJ.
We all have to shine the light on this man.
- Anonymous
I observed SDS in operation during the campus riots as a college student in the sixties. There were so many different groups I wondered for a long while which one or ones were the most dangerous. I eventually came to the conclusion it was Students for a Democratic Society & then the Weather Underground. I had a firm feeling that it was fundamentally important. I had no idea why I came to that conclusion until Beck started putting the pieces together – 40 yrs later. But I do know how frightened I was then. To know the same people have just changed tactics but not goals, since that time – just leaves me speechless. :0
- Simmy
Does this man even refer to himself as a Christian?
I know little about him actually, except that he is the “President’s spiritual adviser”, which doesn’t mean he’s a Christian. The word “spiritual” covers alot of ground, and can go as far as including Satanic spiritualism – since the Devil is a spirit too.As an American Christian, I am wary of this man.
He dares to speak of the Gospel. And I am quite certain he knows nothing of the message. If you read this Mr. Wallace and would care to challenge me on any one point of the Gospel, I invite you to do so. Begin with Jesus’ instruction to “Beware of the leven of Herod.” (A political figure of Jesus’ day)
Let’s go toe to toe with Gospel knowledge.
Perhaps those who you seek the truth in God’s Word will smell WOLF!! Just as I do! - Simmy
PS…
I made an error in the last part of this post -
I meant to say, those you wish to DECEIVE. . . will smell WOLF!!
And they will run to the GOOD SHEPHERD who is able to beat you away with HIS rod. - Twaynepar
Use of knowledge is power, not going on the lightening round for Bible Trivia. The Sanhedrin is looking for you, Pal. I’d rather hang out with that Fox than you. If Christ is not in you then what good are you Fig Tree?
- Cheryl~
You might want to go toe to toe with Beck as well. Christian Theology-The Bible clearly teaches monotheism. This truth is taught in Deuteronomy 6:4, “Hear O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” Isaiah writes about God, “Before me there was no god formed, nor will there be one after me.”
Mormon Teaching- Joseph Smith wrote, “In the beginning, the head of the gods called a council of the gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and (the) people in it
The Pearl of Great Price states in the Book of Abraham, “And they (the gods) said: let there be light and there was light. And they (the gods) comprehended the light, . . . and the gods called the light Day and the darkness they called Night. . . .” In these two chapters, the plural designation “gods” is used over fifty times.
And that is just a little taste of Mormon teaching!

A pimp is a pimp is a pimp! The gentleman in question is an avowed Marxist who fits in very well with the Obamacrowd currently ruining our great country. His title of “Rev,” stands for REVolting. Have you heard this creature speak? Anti-American, Anti-Christian……his true religion is the State! He has plenty of company in this – Hitler, Stalin, Marx, Castro, Chavez and yes, the party in the White House who claims to be a Christian. People ask, is he a Christian, or a Muslim? The answer is, neither. He is a STATIST!
Pray for our nation! (Are we still allowed to say that?)

Apparently Wallis is TOTALLY IGNORING THE STATEMENTS THAT BECK AND THE RABBI CONCERNING MATERIALISM!!! APPARENTLY , WALLIS WOULD RATHER BE IN A OBAMA LEADERSHIP CIRCLE LIKE DENIRO WAS IN “THE UNTOUCHABLES” PLAYING AL CAPONE WITH A BASEBALL BAT.

Hey Mr. Wallace- did you ever hear of the 9th and 10th commandments? You sir are a liar. America is not dominated by the “right wing” news. You mentioned Fox, OK the all the rest? Which would that be? MSNBC, CNN, any of the alphabet stations? You and the rest of the social justice “christians” are promoting people to covet. I think, since I agree that Christianity is on the decline in America, it is because of so called pastors such as yourself who pit class and race against each other. You, Jerimiah Wright, Al, Jessie, father Phlaglar etc., and others who preach touchy feely, your best life now type of hogwash. You all have moved so far away from the Cross- none of you mention sin (unless it’s those evil republican corporations) none of you mention redemption through Christ. You and so many others of your groups are false teachers. Jesus is the Truth, the Life and the Way- but you’d never preach that. You and the rest look to man for your (meaning yours and your friends) will be done, but you fail to teach or even listen to what Jesus says, Our Father, who is in heaven, hollowed be His Name- HIS kingdom come, HIS will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
The only thing you are promoting is more failed commie/socialist utopia which will make things ripe for the Antichrist. I pray you come to know Jesus Mr. Wallace, for I would not want to be in your shoes come judgement day. - Goldni007
“A man of conviction will be hated by those who have no conviction, even in their own circles. It takes a person of conviction to love when it is difficult.”

Most Christians in the US do not live as the 1st century Christians did with their money. I’d guess that even Wallis doesn’t despite him being a Marxist.
The 1st century Christian church met in homes, not church buildings. They gave their ENTIRE paycheck to the elders and then the money was equally distributed among the believers after first taking care of the sick, widows, and orphans.
Anyone care to live like that today?

The SOONER you realize Jim Wallis is a PROGRESSIVE Democrat then Everything he does and says falls in to line.
See CLOWARD & PIVEN.
This is the end result that he and his ilk are after.

Get thee behind me Satan.
Wallis is morally devoid and corrupted.
His fruits are rotten…
So the presidential ‘spiritual’ advisor admits he’s in a battle with Fox News. It’s just like Beck said at some point in the past, that eventually they will just start saying everything out in the open, and that’s exactly what is happening. Van Jones and Jim Wallis are on the same mission, just approaching it from slightly different angles. And there are tons of others like them in the administration.
This is an all out war, and I can’t say it enough.
