Lilly Ledbetter is for the racist white women in corporate America. I have experienced an abundance of racism from white women in the workplace. The EEOC has their token aunt jemima Jacqueline making big bucks to throw out all discriminatory acts by whites to their black employees/colleagues. Joe should be the president instead of obama. He favors the whites & hispanic women over decent SMART, BLACK PROFESSIONAL WOMEN.
Another problem with this act is that most don't want the stigma of having sued a corporation even in good times, let alone in a time of high unemployment. Good going Joe--way to tell the truth. I was wrongfully terminated in a company where the H.R. director was intent on hiring a friend and that is exactly what he did. (other employees warned me that he was doing this and urged me to take note of other employees doing things that were firable offenses that he regularly ignored) Despite the fact that I had a solid case, I wanted to remain employable in the town where I lived, I passed on suing. So, yes, this case does NOTHING for women.
Ann Coulter joked that Romney brilliantly maneuvered Obama and Crowley during the last debate forcing the New York Times to FINALLY report the Bengazi attack. The vast majority of middle class Americans are NOT liberal and they will make the correct decisions given the truth. Collectivist have known this for decades and that's why they control the dissemination of information by dominating education and our sources of news. My local radio station host many conservative personalities but their news reporting is very liberal and they run many liberal PSAs throughout the day. Some Fox News personalities are conservative but they still have a large number of liberals like Shepard Smith. My point is, Obama will continue to get away with lying until we control the dissemination of information in America.

This Lilly Ledbetter legislation is only beneficial to the trial lawyers who pursue class action lawsuits. Where the only real winner is the trial lawyer, who gets a healthy percentage of the settlement. And then makes a political contribution to party of the donkey to keep him/her in business.
Where does it say in the constitution that the federal government can force private companies to increase a specific gender's wages from amongst its workforce?
Where does it say in the constitution that the federal government can force private companies to NOT discriminate against certain people?
I don't see those anywhere.
In fact, even if they were in the constitution, they'd be a violation of individual rights, and thus invalid/powerless, since individual rights trump amendments that violate individual rights.
Anybody else but me notice those government posters about worker's rights in workplaces still say women only make $.71 for every dollar a man makes? George Orwell was unavailable for comment. (Just to PO the leftoids, I write on them, "And they're worth every penny!")
Joe Biden seems to be out of touch. He said, "It's a big deal for women, but it's not a big deal for equal pay." What??? The liberal argument is that women aren't paid enough. (That's not true. Outside of the Obama administration, data shows that women are paid the same for the same job.) So if this act doesn't help them get paid fairly or doesn't help them receive compensation for discrimination, then it's not a big deal for women. Joe Biden said it wasn't a big deal for equal pay, thus it's not a big deal for women. Obama's key accomplishment for women is thus proven to be a farce by his own VP candidate.
Both Obama and Biden are running their campaign, based on falsehoods. They are doing their best to get this criminal and his idiot Vice President, elected for four more years, by lying.
The average intelligence of voters in this country, has sunk to such lows, that they can get away with saying almost anything. And then when Romney or Ryan say something that is actually the truth, the Obama camp calls Romney/Ryan liars, and out of touch, and worse.
This strategy would not work in a country of educated and politically aware, individuals. But, that's not what we have. I am sure my, "blithering idiots," comment precedes me, but that is the reality. We are fast approaching an average intelligence in this country, where the Liberals can say anything, no matter how ridiculous, and it will be believed by their base.
Every day, you see Obama and Biden, lying on stage. For Republicans, that would be political suicide. The liberal media and the Obama camp would have a field day. Yet, they do the same thing, and they get away with it.
Here is the basic rule. Lying works, if you have the media in your pocket.
I agree white but we are not even talking about a college education. Decent elementary and middle school curriculum that included real US history, basic math and money management education along with some ethics and some philosophy would be all it would take.
There should be one agenda: What does a person need to know to have a chance at success in this society and what does a future voter need to know about the world that would lead him to believe and support the notion that this country is worth saving, preserving and worth defending with your life?
None of these concepts is beyond the grasp of 99% of the people who live or are born here.
Education is the critical first step. It cannot be minimized. And we can no longer trust universities to create teachers. We must find a new way to select those people who can pass on our culture. The minimum age for elementary school teachers should be 56.
Equal pay for women has not been an issue for many years because as Mark said that battle was fought long ago, but now since they've nowhere else to go the Dems are returning to the days of yore. Just shows how sad their campaign is and guess they think there is another crop of younger women who will bite into their apple. However, these girls will find out like Eve did it was a very bad idea.

Yes, that's what Mark said. Equal pay was fought and won years ago and this ploy by Obama and Biden is a ruse.
Yes, the Lilly Ledbetter Act essentially eliminated the statute of limitations for women to sue their former employers for wage discrimination. By the time she filed suit, most of the people that actually supervised her were dead or unreachable. It was a SOP to the trial lawyers. If women can sue their employers decades after they were employed, that is a real reason for not hiring women in the first place. Quite frankly, in this litigious society, it's a miracle that small businesses hire women, or anyone else, for that matter. Based on the unemployment rate, they are at least hiring as few as possible. Thanks a lot, lawyers & libs.
Thank You for the info, I can't imagine how much this has hurt women in the workplace. it's so mind blowing all the ways lawyers seem to be the only ones who win when something like this gets passed.
So many lawsuits are bogus and that's why we need "loser pays". I think Obama and Biden are playing to the younger women who weren't a part of the equal pay era and don't remember the commotion surrounding it. The Dems have nothing else at this point but to bring up the past because they certainly can't discuss what they will do in the future because they would lose every vote they have. Not every Dem wants to destroy our nation.
And still nobody thinks Biden is a fool. Amazing. He can tell a lie with the best of them and I just don't see why more people don't treat this guy like the joke he is. Amazing.

We don't live in the same world some describe here and in other threads. About women, washing dishes, dusting, being a baby factory. Or working women typing letters and getting coffee for male bosses. Maybe because my wife has the spunk to tell a man to get his own coffee.
People will run over you if you let them, persons un-named, so you better stick up for yourself because no one else will.
Married over 30 years I still make my husband's coffee not because he won't but because its another way to show I care but he gets his own breakfast every day.
I rarely drink coffee but my wife would gladly bring me some if I asked her. After all I'm her husband, she loves me and she darn well knows I love her. It's not a boss thing, it's a couple thing.........

My late husband, God bless him, brought me a cup of tea, first thing in the morning, for as long as we were married. I bought him a cup of hot chocolate last thing at night.

Once a couple is starting to argue about whose turn it is to do xyz, and how much they've already done for each other, their relationship is in very serious trouble.

The fact is society still values the contributions of men more than women unless women are at home taking care of the kids and washing the dishes. It has nothing to do w skills. It is what men perceive as to be more valuable thus worthy of more pay. Most supervisors and managers are men and therefore make the decisions. Me...i got smart and started my own business so they can get someone else to type their letters and make their appointments.
Me- I worked in RE in commission sales so you only got paid for closed business. There really was no discrimination and as many successful women as men.
So...now you can get a man to type your letters and make your appointments??LOL Your doing a good job thumbs up. Now would ya mind getting me a cup of coffee, just joking.:)
