John Boehner’s first press interrogation

John Boehner held a press conference on repealing ObamaCare today that went a bit more like an interrogation. I’m not suggesting that the reporters did anything wrong, but it certainly would be nice to see them questions BOTH sides of the aisle this way. After all, the Democrats passed PAYGO and still ended up with almost a 3 trillion dollar budget deficit, and I don’t remember hearing anyone ask them why they weren’t offsetting their spending. But let a Republican Speaker ‘deviate’ on one bill from his promise to allow Democrats to provide amendments to bills under his speakership, and the interrogation starts.

Also, it’s worth pointing out that the new MSM talking point is that the Republicans have already failed because they are supposedly reneging on their pledge of cutting 100 Billion in their first year. Boehner countered that by saying that they will indeed keep their pledge within the first calendar year. Hopefully it will be that and more.

He also wrangles with a reporter over the fact that he doesn’t believe that repealing ObamaCare will add to the budget deficit even though the CBO says it will. He gives the reporter a lesson on the CBO.

The press conference goes a bit more than 9 minutes but I must say that I rather enjoyed watching Boehner soundly answer all of their questions and thought that it was educational to say the least. The truth about the Democrats not having a budget for the current fiscal year as well as their fuzzy math in dealing with the CBO over ObamaCare needs to be told to the American people and I’m glad it was stated in this press conference.

Enjoy!
