What Williams said about Muslims may have been the straw that broke the camels back, but when I read the story earlier on NPR, there was mention that he should have been given a choice of leaving, but that it should have been made clear that is appearing of Fox, “isn’t working.” Went back to try to paste that quote here, and it was gone. Fox didn’t have problems with Juan Williams working for NPR, but NPR never could get over that fact that he was working for Fox. So. . . which one is the more ideological, which one is more open to diverse points of view. Oh no, you mean Fox, when compared to National Palestinian Radio, really is Fair & Balanced?

Perhaps I haven’t been around this particular site long enough to know, but do you want to expound on why Juan Williams is a “despicable man.” It’s so easy to cast aspersion with out ever backing them up with a single example of his despicable-ness. Perhaps you meant to say “NPR is despicable and needs to be de-funded?”
Or perhaps despicable is your way of stating that you disagree with his political views? I don’t know, but what I do know is I have an enormous amount of respect for Juan Williams. I disagree with his positions but I’ve always thought he was intellectually honest. You can still respect someone even if you disagree with them.

Sorry, while I think NPR was wrong and deserves defunding, Williams is no hero to me. He helped create the febrile politically correct atmosphere that turned around and bit him in the a**. He is reaping what he sowed.

Juan Williams is/was the last remaining true liberal in the MSM. I think he’s a little shocked to find out just how dishonest his side is/has been. I couldn’t think of a more stand up ideological opponent. He’s honest, fair and more importantly intellectually honest. That’s the rarest quality to stumble across from anyone on the left.
I’m still pissed that a panelist told him to “get back on the porch” in response to something Juan said. Well perhaps now we’ll have an out spoken advocate for just how racist the left truly is.
Listening to Juan reminds me of MLK’s, “judge me not by the color of my skin but by the content of my character.” Juan is an incredible man and his life will be better off with out NPR. His eyes are now truly open to how much the left hates freedom of speech.

Great clip. Indeed, this works to Juan Williams’ advantage – and Fox News’ too. Fox News can strengthen its reputation as fair and balanced and a defender of the first amendment.
The losers in this are the agenda-driven bigots at NPR, Media Matters, George Soros etc. Never in my life have I known such hypocritcal people – they claim to support freedom of speech, democracy, diversity and so on, but the reality is the complete opposite. Shame on them.

You mean Jane Skinner? I like Juan but disagree with just about everything he says- I think he is well liked by many because he isn’t arrogant-he states his thoughts and feelings and opinions without cutting the other person down. I doubt that he will become conservative but only time will tell!!
