Where is Karzai (etc)'s outrage against those who "desecrated" the Koran by writing in it? I am just guessing but it would be surprising if they didn't deserve stoning or something like that (according to Islam) for writing in that "holy" book. I haven't heard any of that... Have they stormed the prison demanding that we turn those prisoners over for "justice" and I've just missed it?

Newt Gingrich the only active candidate was once again way out in front of the curve on this issue. He called out Obama, and then was smart enough to warn the American people that we need to re-evaluate our ally position with Karzai & other so called allies in the area. If they are not true allies; leave.

Out of all of the civilians killed in Afghanistan, the Taliban is responsible for three quarters of them. The difference is, they kill them on purpose.
In Islam, people are expendable. You can also trade several hundred Muslims for one Israeli, when negotiating prisoner swaps and releases. These kinds of swaps have been done repeatedly between Israel and the "Palestinians". In other words, according to them, one "monkey or pig" is worth hundreds of Muslim humans. Sounds about right to me.
I am very thankful I was born to Christian parents in a civilized country. Hopefully we can keep it that way. We are way off track though.
I cannot tell you how livid I am after reading this article on the CNS this weekend. When ever in the history of the USA has any 3rd rate leader of a backward country that is benefiting from the good graces of America think they have the balls to make this kind of announcement. All the men and women in uniform that have died, the tens of billions spent from countries around the world to put this dictator back in power and prop up his government and people and this is how they pay the world and especially USA back??
If Obama moves a fraction of an inch in the direction of putting these military members on trial then there should be a cry for his removal immediately. It would mean that Sharia law over rides American law and we are now cow towing to the 3rd world.
This weekend there was the assassination of two American officers in Afghanistan as well, it is time to either get out or increase the surge.
Islamic fundamentalism is the norm in the arab world not the exception. There are no moderates. You have to completey defeate and destroy them and make them tow the line like Japan and Germany after WW2. That is the only option because they respect nothing but strength. Not this wet noodle of a president.
We need to learn from the Afganis, the next time prisoners use the Koran to send messages (i.e. deface the Koran), all in the prison should be beheaded and the Korans sent to Gitmo.
You give an inch, they take a mile. The demand is not big deal. What scares me is Obama's likely acquiescence.
Pull every single one of our troops out of there and let those barbarians fend for themselves.
