The best way to resist is by becoming politically active. If they come for your guns let them arrest you. There are far more of us than there are prison beds.
A lot can change in ONE GENERATION .... Take note of the liberal B.S. your kids are being taught every DAY in publiK sKoolZ .....
Let's hope Charles is wrong on this one! Americans should NEVER accept gun control. As a matter of fact, I believe we should be more like Switzerland who requires a gun in the home to be used by a trained individual as a member of a civilian militia.
An armed citizen is feared by the government, an unarmed citizen fears the government.
Then you believe that banning full autos is wrong, correct? I believe this as well. If the purpose of the second amendment is to defend liberty, how can we allow government to control the means to do so? If they are allowed to control the means, then they will control the means.
I believe that there are no restrictions on what kinds of weapons we can own according to the 2nd Amendment. If a weapon is produced, we have the right to own as many of them as we choose.
I haven't tried washing it. I have some new stuff, so I might try it with the old. Thanks.
I haven't reloaded in quite a few years, but I used to just replace it. What kind of media are you using?
I'd like to hear some of our Tea Party Patriots talk like that.
Edit: Sadly, the only ones I hear talking like that are the Libertarians.
I would prefer that localities had equality in arms with the federal government. Since the military takes orders from federal politicians, the localities should have fighter jets, tanks, missiles, etc. These locally controlled forces should be referred to as militias, and should have no federal control attached to them. That is constitutional, and the National Guard is just a ruse of local protection, because it is now commanded and funded by the federal government. Our militias have been co-opted, and our citizens have already been stripped of their 2nd amendment. We are now just fighting to keep the last vestiges of ability to resist tyranny.
I disagree Charles. The sentiment on the right to bear arms in America will never change as long as there are liberty loving patriots alive.
We won't be accepting it period. There will be no infringing on the II Amendment. Enough. Look at the airports, they've become one violation after another of the IV Amendment. Muslim Islamic Jihadists fly airplanes into buildings killing thousands, now they're infiltrated into DHS and the TSA, and they're violating the IV Amendments of true Americans. People should stop flying, paying taxes, and ignoring any of these so called laws.
These people work for us, and we are going to start dictating to them. This is finally crossing the line. Lie, ignore, and do it anyway, if they try to impose something like this.
I'm registering for an NRA course in May. It's a handgun course, and I'm going to learn and purchase a weapon. I'm doing it because I no longer feel free or safe with this crime syndicate in D.C.
It only took one generation to get rid of smoking, the steel and lumber industries, and most of our freedoms. Americans became complacent then apathetic and lazy. I Don't think that enough Americans have the fortitude to take any action. The "ruling class" has everyone afraid and disorganized. This country needs a leader (not a ruler) that loves this country and has the integrity to stand up to the press, the entertainment industry and the US government. I don't see that person anywhere on the current political stage.
Conservatives, if you had to choose between adhering to your religious beliefs, or advocating unalienable individual rights, which would you choose?
Given the Conservative views on drugs, pornography, violent content in videos/games, abortion, gay marriage, etc - I am thinking that you'd all choose the former.
But I could be wrong, so let me know, and explain your stance.
As far as I'm concerned, religious beliefs and unalienable rights go hand in hand. I don't have to choose. Our Founding Fathers were Christians and wrote the Constitution and Bill of Rights based on their fundamental Christian beliefs. It's not us that must choose, it's the liberals. What they have declared as unalienable rights (i.e. those you mentioned) don't appear anywhere in either the Bible or Constitution.
Ok, how is it consistent with the unalienable individual rights for the government to ban pornography, ban drugs, ban violent content in videos/games, ban abortion, and ban gay marriage on religious grounds?
As far as I see it, if I had unalienable individual rights...
I'd be able to buy/sell/use/own/produce ANY drug I wanted to.
I'd be able to buy/sell/use/own/produce ANY pornography I wanted to.
I'd be able to buy/sell/use/own/produce ANY violent content in video/games I wanted to.
I'd be able to have an abortion (although I'm male) so long as it's still before viability.
I'd be able to get married with ANYBODY I wanted to, regardless of gender.
And just to show you how far this goes: I'd also be able to engage in bestiality.
But out there, right now, are a load of Conservatives who oppose ALL of these freedoms of action because of their religious beliefs.
How do you rectify all of this?
What does homosexuality and screwing the cow in your photo while high have to do with physically defending our freedoms in the event of a tyrannical government?
Quote: "What I said was, our Founding Fathers were Christians and wrote the Constitution based on their Christian beliefs"
You said that by banning the things I listed "the government is simply upholding Biblical teachings (as our Founding Fathers wanted)". That indicates that you believe that the founding fathers weren't creating a country based on the fact that man has unalienable individual rights, but that the founding fathers were creating a country based on the bible, ie. religious texts. That is a theocracy. You deny it now, after I've pointed this great evil out to you; it's clear why you'd therefore get hostile toward me and label me a Liberal even though I'm the complete opposite of one, since Liberals are ideologically opposed to the idea that Man has unalienable individual rights.
Quote: "I understand that in your gay world everything should go exactly the way you want it and anyone who doesn't agree with you should be demonized."
My gay world? What the hell. I'm not gay. I'm just a consistent advocate for the unalienable individual rights of Man (as the founding fathers were). You're the one who's not consistent at that. You're the one who's accepting some tyranny, just in order to uphold religious beliefs/texts, at the expense of the individual freedom of Man.
And don't tell me that the founding fathers were Christians all. As far as I am aware, they were deists (look up that word if you don't know it). Thomas Jefferson even wrote his OWN bible called the Jefferson Bible, where he took out ALL of the mumbo-jumbo, and only kept the rational good stuff in. That's not what a Christian does; that's what someone does when they have disdain for all the mysticism within Christianity.
Quote: "It's the liberals and their Chicago Messiah who want tyranny"
Yeah, they do, but so do all the religious Conservatives who want to impose their religious beliefs in total and utter violation of the unalienable individual rights of Man. Sure, they might give lip service to capitalism, the free market and individual rights, but when it really comes down to it they'd HAPPILY sell them out in order to adhere to crap that was written 2000 years ago. Don't deny that you wouldn't too.
Just tell me one thing: If there was a conflict and you had to choose between adhering to the bible, or recognizing the unalienable individual rights of Man, what would you choose? Be honest, because if it's the former then you with the enemy.
First of all, I'm not your buddy.
I never said the Founding Fathers wanted a country "where its main objective is to uphold religious texts". What I said was, our Founding Fathers were Christians and wrote the Constitution based on their Christian beliefs. Now, you can twist my words to further fuel your liberal ire... I don't care.
I understand that in your gay world everything should go exactly the way you want it and anyone who doesn't agree with you should be demonized. Well, you're trying to bully and pick on the wrong guy.
It's the liberals and their Chicago Messiah who want tyranny and at this moment it's right smack dab in your laps... and you are so blind you can't even see it.
Have a great day!
You've got the wrong country, buddy. The founding fathers did not want a country where its main objective is to uphold religious texts. That's called a "Theocracy" - And that's precisely the kind of tyrannical rule that the founding fathers were opposed to.
The founders established a country in which even if you did things that the bible said are "no nos", then you could STILL do them so long as you didn't violate the individual rights of others.
The standard of right and wrong in this country is NOT whatever the bible says. The standard of right and wrong in this country is whether it isn't or is a violation of the unalienable individual rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If you want to go buy/sell/use/own/produce pornography, then you should have the freedom to do so because you're not violating anyone's unalienable individual rights. The same goes with all the other things.
If you want a theocracy, then you must want tyranny, because you want a country in which unalienable individual rights may be violated so long as there's some religious texts/beliefs which say they can be violated. I say that anyone who violates or advocates the violation of the unalienable individual rights is immoral and should be opposed as one opposes any would-be tyrant.
I think you (and many other Conservatives) need to get your head screwed on right, and decide whether you're with us (and for unalienable individual rights) or against us (for a theocracy / rule by bible).
You were asking about religious beliefs vs unalienable rights. The majority of those things you're so upset about (pornography, violence, abortion, gender violation in marriage, bestiality) are no-nos according to the Bible. So by banning them the government is simply upholding Biblical teachings (as our Founding Fathers wanted). So, the only one left is the drug thing and judging by the way you sound I'm not so sure you're not doing what you want, so where's the beef?
I am a conservative who does not advocate for the government having authority over those things, so we are not all the same. Conservatives who advocate for the regulation of personal behavior, that does not involve violence toward others and their property, are advocating for government to have the power and authority to control their religion, and take away their guns. They don't realize that you can't pick and choose what tyranny you want, you either have it, or you do not.
Just this:
The grass roots, the Americans who are buying guns and ammo ever since Newtown are showing that they have a far better understanding of the way Obama 'reigns', and they show that they do not trust their representatives in Congress to defend their rights under the 2nd Amendment as they should and must be defended.
They also show that they fully understand the way the meejah and the left are dominating this issue, spreading outright lies about 'assault' weapons.
These grass root Americans are seeing that lies are being told by the left and the meejah about something they do understand: guns, hand guns, rifles, ammo.
For the first time there is a massive gulf opening between what the grassroots know - and what they hear on their TVs.
This has opened their eyes - and whatever the outcome, their attitude to both government and the meejah has fundamentally changed.
Both Capitol Hill and the beltway pundits, never mind the POS and his cronies, have not understood this.
They will - because this is empowering ordinary, law abiding citizens who now have their eyes opened, and who will not easily be shushed back into their corners by the mighty in DC.
So far, these people are just reacting to government in a peaceful way by buying guns and ammo. Though it does show some intent to defend the right to do so, it is entirely different from using those guns to secure liberty, and against the State.
This is a psy-op interview designed to get people who are worried about gun control to relax. Krauthammer knows that it won't take generations to ban guns. He is not stupid. Australia gave up their guns, and their culture was more like ours than Europe's. Our government is using the same tactics to reach the same end as theirs did.
When I hear people say "they will never get our guns", I cringe. That is the epitome of pride, and is contrary to human nature and historical proof. When people say that we are not like other countries, implying that we are so special that this could never happen here, they deny reality. How has our citizenry proven that they are not like any other country in this matter? They have allowed socialism to take our rights in many other areas. Why is the gun issue so different? We already have laws restricting our ability to fight back if government goes really bad on us. More laws, and eventual disarmament are just getting further into disarmament, which means that the American people are not doing what a "special" country would do.
Don't let their psy-op tactics work.
Hey Chuck, it will NEVER happen. Our rights have been infringed enough. NOT ONE MORE STEP!
Too late. The precedent that your unalienable individual rights may be violated without you first violating the rights of others has already been set, and now it's just a matter of time until the principle is completely null and void. The precedent was set centuries ago, so there's nothing you could have done.
Dear Scoop,
I really enjoy this page and the work you do for our country. [OUR COUNTRY] Thank you. The thoughtful and intelligent comments here are worth the read.
TRS is friendly, respectful and should grow with readership. I have taken a lot of heat two times on TRS.
1) I was ticked off by a comment John Bolton made about troops killed in Afghanistan and paid him no mercy with my reply. People jumped all over me and didn't know my oldest son was a Marine there at the time. His company had too much hurt for normal men to understand. It's cool, they didn't know. He has a 3.5 GPA in Business Management.
2) Recently I asked why people are worried/talking about the Feds rounding up [our] guns? I could be wrong. That was fun. My inbox blew up. Nice stuff. Everyone has a right to think for themselves. My wife and I are glass-half-full people. Mr. Krauthammer said in a brief moment what I have thought all along. Americans wont stand for this crap about our rights being violated. I believe in my fellow man, I'll give the shirt off my back, but if you bother me or my family I'm not a nice person. MOLON LABE.
Thanks Scoop
Hannity just finished an hour with people from NY who had their names published in the Journal-News for owning a gun. Excellent show and very sane people.
Does anyone actually believe these talking heads any more? Do they even believe themselves? They live in a bubble.
We know what the hell is going on. We know that half of our government has mounted a full blown assault on the Constitution, our liberty and our prosperity, and... that the other half is a pathetic bunch of back benchers, just trying to figure out how to share in the spoils of tyranny.
We know the Republicans are going to do jacksh't about this assault on our rights. Do they think we have bought up every semi-automatic rifle, round of ammo, and magazine in the entire US inventory manufacturing supply chain because we are feeling lucky?
I pray Obama does not test the will of the American people on this issue because if he does he will find us ready to lock and load.
NEWS:
"Joe Biden said on Friday he was interested in technology that would keep a gun from being fired by anyone other than the person who bought it."
.
Yo so smo't, Biden!
Kids and wife will be murdered, because the man is not home.....The Law of Unforseen (by stupid leftists like you) Consequences always bite somebody's (ours) butt......
That would make all guns battery powered. Do you think that the military will be packing gun batteries, or just the people?
" technology that would keep a gun from being fired by anyone other than the person who bought it."
Didn't Al Gore invent that?
