The fact that Krauthammer believes that Donald Trump is running for President is not news. I’ve always taken him seriously in that regard. What makes this newsworthy is that Trump actually called Krauthammer to discuss his potential candidacy, and let him know he’s serious about running for President. Krauthammer was impressed with the phone call even though they obviously went a few rounds on a few issues (via Real Clear Video):
I’ve been intentionally ignoring Trump because I just don’t take him seriously as a candidate. He’s not a conservative and he’s bad for the movement to oust our radical-in-chief. That said, he’s showing our candidates that being aggressive isn’t a bad thing, but a great thing. Notice Krauthammer’s tone in this clip. He was clearly impressed with Trump and the way he handled the phone call. That may not say too much about him in regard to his political beliefs, but it says something about him as a person. And that’s important too.
At this point I’m watching Palin and Cain. I need to see more from Cain, but I’m just not sure that he’s got what it takes to overcome someone as influential and powerful as Palin. As for Trump I’m saying DUMP THE TRUMP!
