OK folks, break out the bubbly! With all the beatings the Tea Party has taken over the last few weeks, Krauthammer now says that it’s the Tea Party that’s the real winner in all of this because it has managed to focus the debate in Washington on the debt and it makes Obama’s investment talk sound like it’s from the Jurassic era.

Welcome to the Debt Era:

A deal that reduces the projected growth of spending 6bil the first year, that doesn't eliminate one single program or department, that says nothing at all about Obamacare, that essentially gives Obama a free ride through 2012 by raising the ceiling and giving him further authority to raise it himself, and that doesn't mandate the passage of a balanced budget amendment; anyone who says that is a win for the Tea Party, for conservatism needs to grab his left ear with his right hand, his right ear with his left hand and Pull. His. Head. Out. Of. His. Ass. Krauthhammer is a glittering jewel of colossal ignorance on top of that and damned if I'll even give him the satisfaction of a "click". It'd be too much like reading messages hidden deep inside microwaved bullshit.

The tea party is a success not for the reasons he claims. It is a true grass roots movement and not a political party. It is (so far) leaderless therefore immune to attack from the left. It embodies real principles, something that is foreign to the Potomac river rats.

And what the hell does Krauthammer know about the Viet Nam war? Declare victory and go home? We were winning when I left.

Dark days indeed.

This is really not a compliment at all. This is his way of being psychologically manipulative. Especially with his comparison to the `worst days of the Vietnam war`. Meaning declare and empty victory because you didn`t really get what you wanted but you did stop the other guy from getting all that he wanted. So with this plan Obama gets 90% of what he wanted so we should all be happy with the 10%, crumbs falling off the table.

Using a war analogy, this is like the battle of the bulge where the 101st airborne (tea party) are surrounded by the enemy, outnumbered and out gunned but still stopped their attack. Now it is time to dig in, keep firing back and wait for Patton to arrive with his tanks in 2012 to get a clear cut, final victory! My response to you Mr. Krauthammer is `NUTS!

Tea Party!

Look what they influenced in the debate. Like I had said :: Palin's key note speech

in Iowa will have a well done to the Tea Party.

The Tea Party is showing the America People they have the true America Patriot interest. Conservatives that are on the fence will have a clearer View of where the Tea Party is coming from.

p.s. getting stronger every day!!!!

When credit cards reach their limit people stop using them and that's just what the US government needs to do.

Don't forget to repeal the 17th amendment. Lets give the states back their representation in congress and return this country back into its original and proper form, that is, a collection of independent republican states.

Well, that's a great take, Charles, after you've been bad-mouthing the TEA Party for months. Sorry, he's a great intellect but he came to the party too late for me.

Kraut is dealing in politics and optics and not actual policy reality. Assuming Obama is defeated the next President will have to deal with 17 Trillion in debt right away, and a limit that is about to be reached right when they take office. All this spending is baked into the cake and cuts are nothing in comparison to it.

This latest debt increase to 17 trillion or so will last into 2013 when a new president takes office hopefully. Which means even if we get a serious budget cutter like Sarah Palin, she can't cut everything all at once especially with the establishment republicans pitching a fit! We are going to have 20 trillion in debt before you know it.

3 trillion in cuts (wont even be that much) over 10 years is 300 billion per year in cuts when we are running 1.2 trillion deficits each year! So we will still be running a trillion in the red approximately every single year!

Are you kidding me, Krauthammer? After your crapola this past week? Just stop talking about the Tea Party and stop talking TO us as well. In fact, all the talking heads who told the Tea Partiers to quit causing so much trouble over this debt ceiling can suck rotten eggs. McCain, are you listening too? You are my Senator, Mr. McCain. You shall be hearing from me this week. Any town halls coming up soon here in Arizona, Mr. McCain? I do believe the Arizona Tea Party people would like to have a conversation with you.

OMG the TeaParty got suckered. From the Get Go Obama wanted a pass so this did NOT come up during election, the GOP rolled over & gave that to him, he has a blank check until 2013 well really from now on. And y'all call this a victory?? For pie in the sky cuts...yep good job.

Krauthammer mentioned this. He said you should "declare victory". The opposite is declaring a loss. That's not what you want to do. He understands perfectly that the Tea Party didn't get what it wanted, but there are some cuts albeit dangerous ones with respect to the defense budget. He mentioned this.

But one thing you cannot deny is that the message has been altered. It is now about the debt. The Tea Party completely OWNED Obama with messaging. The entire country understands that the debt needs to be addressed. And now it's Obama who looks like he's out of touch. Krauthammer said he looks like something out of the Jurassic era, he's so out of touch. That's a win right there. Get both houses and the Presidency and start making real changes.

Declare victory and go home? Uh, no Mr. Krauthammer, we still have the business of the 2012 GOP primaries and especially the GOP presidential primaries. We are not done yet putting into office true conservatives who will change Washington. And it begins in September when Sarah Palin enters the race. We need a Tea Party patriot at the top of the ticket in 2012.

Also there is still talk of some type of grand bargain, i.e. tax hikes. So no, we will be vigilant and hold our representatives and Senators feet to the fire until we get this administration out of power in 2012. And even then we will ensure that whoever is the GOP nominee, does what has to be done to put this country back on the right track.

Great analysis Charles.. Keep it coming that way.. It is, and was always that way, as in The Tea Party has fought from day 1, with these goals, and the will continue to do so, until Obama and all of his cronies and henchmen & women, are thrown out of the White House, period.!!

I wasn't expecting him to be a total convert. Kraut being 75% right is at least tolerable, given the predictable alternative.

I wouldn't call it a "win" just yet. The real winning will come after the next election and will not be completely over until everything Obama and the 111th have done gets scrapped......and then some more reductions for good measure.

Realistically, most of the federal government has to disappear to be able to pay the debt off. It's painful to think how much money this administration has practically burned.
