Henry Waxman asked to subpoena the Koch brothers during a hearing on the Keystone Pipeline today because he thought it might benefit them in some way. Krauthammer responded to that by saying that he can’t think of a more stupid, intellectually desperate argument than to reject something that helps us in a myriad of ways, including putting thousands of Americans back to work, simply because it might benefit the Koch brothers.

I’ve included the whole segment just so you can hear Juan Williams compare Waxman’s request to investigate the Koch brothers to Republicans wanting to investigate the cronies involved in Solyndra.

    Henry “ratface” Waxman

    • Anonymous

Remember the Phantom of the Opera movie six decades ago?

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1497076194 Travis Pierson

You shouldn’t insult Lon Chaney or his brilliant makeup artists like that. Waxman looks like a caricature of the Phantom.

    • bobemakk

I always wanted to say that, but hesitated…he is ratfaced. Possibly the ugliest politician alive, God forgive me.

  • http://twitter.com/DANEgerus DANEgerus

It reveals how the Democrats project their moral depravity upon others. The Solyndra bankruptcy was a payback, in tax-payer debt dollars, to corrupt Obama billionaire campaign contributors, at an ROI of about 100,000%. So the Democrats assume that the rationale behind creating American jobs must involve a payoff. Democrats simply can’t imagine Republicans doing their job rather than enriching themselves.

Note also that the Democrats are preventing the private sector from creating jobs naturally, while Democrat subsidies not only fail to create jobs with public spending, but redistribute wealth from the tax-payer to wealthy Democrats.

    • Anonymous

I doubt even 10% of TV viewers could explain the difference. That, is the State of the Union.

    • bobemakk

The democrats blame the republicans for everything. Now Leon Panetta, our defense secretary is announcing today the military cutbacks. In this tumultuous terrorist world, why cut back on the military. That is because Obama has no other alternatives, he is bankrupting US and this is one of his answers. He won’t even open the Keystone pipeline…..that’s okay, these are all additional nails in his coffin.

Gingrich is the man for the presidency. The lamestream media now including RINO Romney, is trashing Newt for “historical” baggage. All politicians have baggage if we dig deep enough, but the lamestream/left socialists won’t expose democrats, they love the big zero/Obama. Newt has made his mark with his “Contract with America,” a contract he fulfilled that no other politician can match. He is a true conservative, and gaining in the polls. Except now losing some support in Florida. He also now has the support of the Palin family and Rick Perry and now Chuck Norris, JC Watts and former Sen. Fred Thompson. Newts daughters also wrote to ABC about the Brian Ross interview with their mother and said it was a mean and nasty move right before a primary, which Gingrich won anyway. We need this man to bring back our country into prosperity. Look at Iraq when the troops were brought home, the Iranians will take over and the violence has started again and is worsening. We can all blame Obama for that and all the soldiers lost or maimed was all in vain.
However, I will vote for anyone who runs against the Obama regime.
I just wish that the candidates would stop slamming each other and focus on the multitude of failures by Obama, he has ruined US and we are on the brink of bankruptcy.

I thought it was Warren Buffet’s railroad that was going to benefit…and Brazil (Soros?), whose best customers we are supposed to be. These sound more like Obama buddies.

    • StNikao

It is very hard to have charitable thoughts (and not the opposite) about those you name, such a greedy, power-mongering evil trinity they are (may they repent or not rest easy until they do.)

    • Anonymous

and those are real Buffets’ deal going on ,Rail road tract he purchased, and Soros Brazil oil deal that Obam look forward to Soros best customer (South America). So why approve the Keystone Deal to hurt your buds.
      dead on correct Stehekin912

      • Anonymous

Soros has also been buying into natural gas and natural gas engine conversion technology this year. A shortages and high oil prices make it easy to build a case for Congress to subsidize conversion to natural gas.

Soros like subsidies. His banks were the major recipients of our mortgage restructuring finds.

Outright fraud and theft of American taxpayer money. Crickets.

        • Anonymous

Right after writing that, I read an email from my “Republican” Senator. He loves the Soros natural gas subsidy bill:

“I was glad to hear the President address the need to increase our production of domestic energy, and I am pleased that there is already a bipartisan framework in Congress to spur the production and use of natural gas called the NAT GAS Act.”

            Throw them all out…

  • Anonymous

Juan, how is that a comparison? Dude must want back on NPR.

    • Anonymous

It is people like Williams who make NPR what it is. They are now slowly making Fox what it is.

      • Anonymous

wonder why I always feel stupid when I see One william withuot listening to his cabbage, people like him keep me away from Fox

      • Anonymous

I haven’t watched Fox in months. Haven’t missed it. I stick to RS.

      • Anonymous

You are so right my friend.

Why give DWS ANY airtime? Why pay to hear what far left bomb-throwers think? Interviewing people like Al Sharpton? Really? Why tolerate Juan Williams, Bob Beckle, Geraldo Rivera, Bill O’Reilly, Alan Colmes, and the other so-called “balanced” shills for moderates and the left? And they’ve recently hired a Soros stooge? Seriously?

I once appreciated “fair and balanced” but with so many corrupt “misinformation factories” out there spewing sludge that they call “news”, so called news that is fit for consumption only on the left… why can’t we simply have “Fair”? I’m not sure if The Blaze news hour at 7:00 pm EST is the answer but seriously, why is FOX biting the hands that fed them? This is a form of suicide for them.

If it weren’t for the Internet (an unregulated Internet), we’d be isolated and uninformed.

Is this stupidity a side effect of Botox treatments? I swear, Waxman, Hoyer, Pelosi, Reid, Wasserman-Schultz–the whole Democrat Party–have taken some kind of drug that has fried their brains. Maybe it really is in the drinking water.

    • StNikao

      Consequences of sin.

    • Anonymous

Mary: I think it’s something added to the water at Capital Hill. The evidence is certainly there. I mean how else can one describe the gungho attitude of some GOP members to shrink govt and suddenly it’s about enriching yourself through political favors via earmarks and stock insider information. Got to be something like this.

      • Amy

Hmm… maybe I better keep Sen. Ron Johnson supplied with bottled water then. :-) Don’t want to see him catch whatever it was Feingold had!

  • Anonymous

Henry Waxman has never been known to be anything but a leftist and so anything he can do to destroy the opposition is fair game. Let him call for whatever; by the time Congress gets around to it the Koch Bros will be retired.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1497076194 Travis Pierson

It amazes me his district keeps electing him. In all of US history, nobody has wasted more time and money on worthless investigations than Waxman. Someone should audit his investigations and make him repay every dime spent on those that had no net positive effect. My guess is that the number would be around 100%.

  • Anonymous

Yup, like my buddy was telling me last night. White people don’t like it when blacks get loud.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1497076194 Travis Pierson

Of course Solyndra was suspicious! What a shoddy argument, Juan. (Yeah. I know. Raaaaaaaaacism!) Solyndra was receiving taxpayer-backed federal loans and they were run by Obama donors. How much federal money is supposed to go to fund Keystone? None. And it will create real jobs in both the short and long term, not the unicorn taming jobs Solyndra offered. What a joke.

  • KenInMontana

“Juan” is still smarting over getting his backside handed to him at the debate. As far as Waxman goes, were I on that committee, I’d smile at him and say “We’ll pencil in the Koch brothers right after Soros” then sit back and watch the rest of that wax melt off his face.

    • Amy

Or Buffet, since he just might benefit from the pipeline being killed.

    • Anonymous

But the Koch bros do benefit – from the pipeline not being put in! They own the MN refinery that is running off tar sands crude and expect to process more. The XL pipeline is probably not needed but is a boondoggle to sell pipe or grab land. There are refineries in MN, IL, IN, OH, MI that process over 2M bll/day of crude. There are not oil wells enough between these 5 states that produce 1% of this amount – yet they process 2M bll/day. Where does it come from? – the Gulf. So could not these be reversed if Canada can supply all these refineries? Do the math !!

      • KenInMontana

I have done the math, and I would rather see the jobs that the pipeline would create for MT,ND,SD and WY, when the oil from the Bakken the pipeline would be able to be brought to market. Those are in addition to the jobs building it would bring. If the pipeline is “killed” the one who will benefit is the guy that owns the BNSF railroad, Warren Buffet.

  • Anonymous

My question is where will the oil actually end up going? We put in natural gas lines on the west coast to benefit US customers, then they decided to use it to ship it to China. I have a hard time believing that this will benefit the US. Neither party has been doing anything for that purpose, for a long time.

  • Mike Lee

Does Juan Williams actually believe anything he says? I hope not.

    • Anonymous

Does anyone actually believe anything Juan says?

      I doubt it.

      • Anonymous

I saw Juan on a Sunday news program discussing economics (making a fool of himself) and thought they should let him have one minute the last minute to look out the window and discuss the weather (anything else would require more gray matter).

    here’s to waxman….. here’s to waxman….. here’s to waxman your a real horses a$$

Henry Waxman ia a deplorable and wretched failed human/pig breeding experiment.

To say he’s a shill for the left makes shills look bad. He is another one of those folks (think Alan Greyson) who speaks without the brain engaging. With a face for radio, the I.Q. of a rock and a predisposition to blatantly lie every time he speaks, he should resign and go live on an island somewhere and enjoy the billions he’s gained from all his corruption.

Sorry folks… he’s on my list of top 50 who I can’t tolerate. Just venting…

    • KenInMontana

The Island of Dr. Moreau, perhaps?

      • Anonymous

Brilliant M8… I should have thought of that! :)

  • Anonymous

I watched the clip of Waxman yesterday….intellectually desparate is not strong enough…his speech is a stupid as his face.

  • http://www.facebook.com/pageyuri Yuri L Page

That is way I think Fox News is fair and balance, you won’t get that at the other media, just lefty talking point.

  • Anonymous

Waxman, yet another “useful idiot” in a high position.

Waxman and leftist friends mistakenly think they will be on the top of the pile if they bring America to her knee’s.

  • Anonymous

When the left went after Juan Williams, it was the right that defended him and gave him a job. Yet, Williams continues to support the left.

  • bobemakk

Krauthammer is the most intelligent journalist around. He is so right.
