I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting given all the “suffering hype”, but this woman surely wasn’t it. She claims that her unemployment benefits will finish next week, but since Bunning decided to relent, the resolution will pass and her benefits will continue, unless of course they were going to terminate anyway which would make no sense being that her sole purpose on the show was to shame Jim Bunning. Her actual problem really seemed to be that she can’t find a job, which again has absolutely nothing to do with Bunning. I can only guess that they scheduled her for the show to decry Bunning’s principled stand, but then he relented (which everyone predicted) and they decided to run the segment anyway.
Did you notice that they didn’t even bother to mention why he was holding up the Senate? And they barely mentioned that he relented. They portrayed it as if the democrats were terrible victims who finally overcame their somewhat crazy benefit-denying perp by beating his amendment.
Oh well, so much for honest reporting.
