Leno is definitely a liberal, but perhaps a more honest one that others in the media. Last night he took aim at Obama during his comedy routine (via CNS News):

Typical Progressive fashion, wait until after the election to make that joke, when it has zero chance of hurting Obama's reelection campaign...

I'm glad that all the morons in the audience can have themselves a good hardy laugh at their own demise!

Obama is a Pathological Narcissist. He controls America. What is next? Study history. Germany in the 1930's is very similar. Crisis. Chaos. The Rise of the Leader. Next he will purge all government and cultural institutions and put revolutionary marxists into as many positions as he can. He will "consolidate the revolution". Purges, power grabs, power, power, power. What we see in the "news" or through leaks will only be 10% of what he is actually doing. He will be gutting America's power in any way he possibly can. His supporters will become even more wicked, hateful and violent. The media will greatly step up it's lies and attacks on anyone with traditional America values. Any problems, like a collapse of the economy, will be blamed by the media on capitalism, white people, businesses, etc. It's going to get much, much worse and fairly quickly.

It would be a mistake not to think Obama wants to go forward over the fiscal cliff. It will result in tax increases on everyone and cuts to the military. And it can all be blamed on Republicans because they were "unwilling to compromise." What is there not to like about the fiscal cliff for Democrats? You'd think old-timers like Boehner would have figured that out by now. Yet they fall for the same tricks every time. Who could have known Lucy was not going to let you kick the sequester football down the road this time? What a surprise.

Even though I am retired now, I don't stay up late enough to watch his program. I did not know Obama won until the next morning when I woke up. I told my son to me wake if Romney won. When my son had not awoken me, I knew the bad news without turning on the tube.

And then there's this:

Breitbart News reported earlier that the Supreme Court is reconsidering one of the major cases challenging the constitutionality of Obamacare.

The Court has now set that petition for a vote at its November 20th closed-door conference. The outcome of that vote will likely be revealed the morning of November 26th, after Thanksgiving.

The case is Liberty University v. Geithner, No. 11-438.

I see some glimmers of hope. I call it, glimmer glamour.

What the media fails to point out is we are in this situation because of Obama's failed leadership the past 4 years. He signed bills into law that set up this fiscal cliff scenario.

Without a bunch of writers, those "comedy" dudes are as good as FuBar Ack without a teleprompter....

If Rush Limbaugh called, say, Hilary, "a c*nt", there would be huge protests, marches, calls for his death, etc.

But Maher's arrogance? It is OK, he gave money to DNC....Nothing happens.

I am still waiting for the news about his loooong hospital "visit" after his tete-a-tete meeting with Todd Palin...... ;)

I appreciate the sentiment Scoop. Thank you.

Honestly, this material isn't funny. And audience laughs at such a serious subject. Frankly, my funny bone has been fractured since last week and I'll need time to mend. Until then, let these late night comedians make our national debt a punchline so America can laugh it off.

sDee

Exactly. That is same role as the morning news shows' opiate. Both our news and our entertainment industry is gltizty sophisticated yet pathetic state propaganda.

The truth is no where to be found.

You're exactly right. The left trivializes important issues and serious people by making jokes about them on the late night shows and SNL. All the more reason to tune them out completely. I pulled the plug on my already limited channel selection television ENTIRELY on 11/7. I encourage everyone to do the same - if they already haven't.

I was told if you get NetFlix and Hulu you don't even need the main stream. We get our news right here anyway! Cable TV costs us about $125.00 a month, what a waste it's been.

Breaking: Fox confirms Petraeus has agreed to testify in the House AND the Senate voluntarily.

Let the games begin!

Petraeus could potentially face criminal charges for the Broadwell fiasco at Obama's discretion, but he could also face legal troubles if he lies in front of Congress. Something has to give here.

Sure...he seems to be in the come clean mode now. If he goes down, he's damn sure not going alone :-)

Have you ever seen burnt food stick to Teflon? I have.

Especially when that Teflon has been wearing thinner and thinner. It also tends to "flake" off.

Isn't it ironic that two of Hollywood's biggest liberals, Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, are driving the car that goes over the cliff at the end of Thelma and Louise? Life imitates art.

All of the talk about the fiscal cliff has turned into a Hollywood catch phrase. How many people do you think have any idea what the implications of it are?

It sounds like a reality TV show, they want to know what time and channel it's on.

Sorry, but there's no need for me to raise my blood pressure by watching any of these pandering millionaires on late night television. The only usefulness they can serve in the near future is that eventually maybe, some of their at home audience will wake up one day and see the hypocrisy of the hosts comfort. These guys makes asses out of any one with a right leaning approach for a cure and make way too much money doing it. To be honest, if the whole bunch of late night hosts gave half their worth to charity my opinion wouldn't change. They've been complicit in the libs destruction of this country for the sake of laughter. They ought to mind their own Hollywood business and key in on their fellow perverts, drunks and drug addicts that have too much to say about conservatives who have legitimate solutions to our problems. Remember too, this creeps reneging on his retirement deal when he screwed his successor and found a willing partner in his network to virtually screw a fellow lib. Theres a lot to be said about liberal hollywood in that one story.

I guess his writers couldn't come up with any good jokes about cancer or incest. Those are much funnier than economic collapse.

Edit: Hey Jay, BTW, we really don't think you need all those cars. The new law is one (fuel efficient) car per family. You can keep that electric one from 1904. That sounds "fair".

tinlizzieowner
tinlizzieowner

"The new law is one (fuel efficient) car per family."

I fully expect to see something like this somewhere down the line. At the very least, I expect to see a tax on antique & custom 'hobby cars'. The Hollywood rich like Leno will (of course) be able to get around it but little guys like me with a couple cars, wont.

Arrrggghhh
Arrrggghhh

I'm sure that there will also be taxes on what the government deems to be "gas guzzlers" as well as on cars that get TOO GOOD gas mileage because they are not paying their FAIR share of gas taxes. I also wouldn't put it past them to put GPS devices in cars to track your driving habits.

Oops, sorry, we already have all those. NEVERMIND!

The Canadian rock group Rush released the song "Red Barchetta" in 1981. Our children will think it was written AFTER the "Motor Law" was enacted:

My uncle has a country place

That no one knows about.

He says it used to be a farm,

Before the Motor Law.

And on Sundays I elude the Eyes,

And hop the Turbine Freight

To far outside the Wire,

Where my white-haired uncle waits.

Jump to the ground

As the Turbo slows to cross the Borderline.

Run like the wind,

As excitement shivers up and down my spine.

Down in his barn,

My uncle preserved for me an old machine,

For fifty-odd years.

To keep it as new has been his dearest dream.

I strip away the old debris

That hides a shining car.

A brilliant red Barchetta

From a better, vanished time.

I fire up the willing engine,

Responding with a roar.

Tires spitting gravel,

I commit my weekly crime...

Wind-

In my hair-

Shifting and drifting-

Mechanical music-

Adrenalin surge...

Well-weathered leather,

Hot metal and oil,

The scented country air.

Sunlight on chrome,

The blur of the landscape,

Every nerve aware.

Suddenly ahead of me,

Across the mountainside,

A gleaming alloy air-car

Shoots towards me, two lanes wide.

I spin around with shrieking tires,

To run the deadly race,

Go screaming through the valley

As another joins the chase.

Drive like the wind,

Straining the limits of machine and man.

Laughing out loud

With fear and hope, I've got a desperate plan.

At the one-lane bridge

I leave the giants stranded at the riverside.

Race back to the farm, to dream with my uncle at the fireside

I used to play that game with my kids when they were younger. Now they know both and are better people for it.

Very funny story. I was playing a "Rush" song from my iTunes library and casually mentioned to one of my young daughters that it was by "Rush". She immediately connected "Rush" with the person that she hears on the radio all the time, Rush Limbaugh. Her response was priceless: Rush sings? It's even funnier if you know that "Rush" is a fairly hard rock band.

Now I have to listen to Rush. Good on you.

They will just declare those cars as "museum art" and not only be able to keep them but probably get a government grant to maintain them, of course a political "donation" to the Democrat party will be expected.

Unless you're a millionaire (which I'm not) and you still have more millions coming in, Classic and Hot Rod cars are not the place to be. I'm a real glutton for punishment, I own a boat too.

Do you know how to make a small fortune in the antique car game?

Start out with a large fortune!

tinlizzieowner

Why sure, it's a turn key 'driver'. The Mrs. and I drive it all over the place just like it was any other car. I've re-built it from the radiator to the u-joint.

Don't know how to post pictures?

Wolfie

Does the Model T still run? Every summer in a car park near our market on a Saturday, classic cars enthusiasts gather and park their cars - often with windows down and hoods up etc... for the general public and other car fans to drool over (not literally! :-) )... I bet they would darn near kill to see your beauties! Pictures?

NYGino
NYGino

You're not out of luck, you don't need a real museum, the "donation" is the only thing that really matters. Saying you have a museum just adds cover to the whole scam.

Kinda like Solybdra wasn't really intended to be an ongoing, profitable business. It's real purpose was getting money from the government for political payback and self enrichment.

tinlizzieowner
tinlizzieowner

The Model T is an 85 year old, original, 'Used Car'. The 60 Rambler is a full out custom. If you think boats are expensive to own, don't get into this game. ;-)

I live by this philosophy, 'If you're pushing 70 and you haven't grown up yet, you don't have to'. :-)

Wolfie

You really got those two cars? Wow! How cool is that!

tinlizzieowner

In Leno's case, he has a 'museum' already. What you are saying makes perfect sense. In my case, 'Lizzy', my 1927 Model T Ford, is in my daughter's garage and 'Da Rumbler', My (Chevy V8 powered) 1960 Rambler American, is in my car port, so I'm out of luck. :-(
