They're like the the North Easterners we have filling Florida right now. They bring what they know with them and expect us to accommodate them.

Case in point, I had a snotty old lady come into the store where I work asking for a copy of the New York Times. When I told her we don't have the NY Times, she got real indignant and said "well, where can I get a copy". I told her to go up to the next intersection, turn right, go to I-75, turn north and go 1,300 miles. My boss almost spit up his coffee. ;-) ;-)

And that in Sweden, which has very strict gun laws, the number of Rapes keeps increasing, so that, by 2008, it was already the second-highest rate of rapes per 100,000 per year, at over 53, among all countries. So now people estimate (hey, it's probably a ballpark figure, so don't get all excited) that one in four women in Sweden will be raped in their lifetime. That's a lot of women who probably wished they had some way to defend themselves. But the Swedes gave up their rights to own guns, just like you want us to do here. You want our guns.

I have a lot of sympathy for Gabby Giffords, but if she continues to use her personal tragedy to push a political agenda, then she is fair game for criticism.

What would be the reaction of the Left if Giffords were a republican pushing a pro-gun agenda???

I agree, Ms, Gifford...Congress does need to act. There is a long list of things, such as passing a balanced budget and fixing our economy, that are far more important than the liberal propaganda you and your husband are peddling.

I realize this woman was shot and that's really horrible. Other people were killed, that's horrible too. But I'm sick of this emotional BS. She's being trotted out for a reason, so that our side will not criticize her. I'm not here to criticize her, but gun control is not the answer. The empirical evidence shows that gun control doesn't stop violent crime. The question we should be asking of Ms. Giffords is, it's well known during the investigation of Loughner that he had stalked her for years. He had said things to school mates that were not right. He was sending her weird correspondence, possibly hidden threats. Why didn't she notify the authorities? Why didn't the school notify them that Lougher was a cracker short of cheese? Same in Newtown. Lanza appeared at the school days before and caused problems, was possibly violent and threatening. Why wasn't the authorities told?

I wish Mrs. Gifford's would look at the whole picture and see that she is putting the public in danger of the exact same experience she went through. Gun control is a facilitator of these horrible acts.

We saw this first with Jim Brady, of course. One could say Gifford and Brady speak with authority, but they speak from an extreme experience which has BIASED them. How can they be objective about the issue? The can't. And that's not altogether a bad thing, because experience is a powerful voice. However, it is not objective, and we need to realize this.

No Gabby WE do not have a problem as most gun owning people are simple everyday people minding there own business. The people with the problem are the crackpots of the world which you are trying to group us into. You know the percentage of killings with the AR-15 "assualt rifle"? Less than 1 percent. And if you are so against guns empty out your house of all guns and ammo and take the lead. Good thing the liberals are not exploiting your plight.

I am sorry for her plight, nobody should have to go through all she has. And here comes the "but", I am so tired of "victim" stories. I learned many years ago about the democrat party, they are the party of death. Universal background checks by feds (stopping transfer of personal weapons at their will), mental health checks linked to private healthcare records, and, magazine capacity limits, will give them all they need to threaten, intimidate, conduct random searches, persecute, prosecute and restrict gun sales over time.

This was inevitable.

While I condemn what happened to her, I had no doubt she would be exploited and become the Democratic face for gun control.

Frankly, I find this rather evil... yes, she has every right to speak out... but when you couple that with the fact that she's a Democrat and we know how they like to surround themselves with children and victims, I find this unsettling.

And no doubt... the dumbmasses will swallow this whole... drawn to this lie like moths to a flame.

Gabby could do so much more with her life...
