Libtalker Bill Press says STFU to Tim Tebow

These liberals hate Christianity and they hate Tim Tebow because of it. In this short clip, Bill Press who we often see on MSNBC tells Tebow to STFU after he plays a clip of Tebow thanking his “Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”.

Liberal heads exploding!

Bill Press you’re just an old jealous, talentless SOB.

  • Joe W.

As a life long San Diego Chargers fan, I cannot help but love, respect, and root for Tim Tebow. I,too, love My Father God much more than I love my Chargers. And my message for Bill Press?? “I’ll pray for you.”

  • Anonymous

Mr Press – YOU’RE the disgrace and embarrassment; what an ignorant *ss.

  • Anonymous

What is all this TIM Renown talk about?

He still will never be an above average QB right?

    • Anonymous

He already is. The quarterback is the leader and on-field, off-field, motivator. The example. The Captain of a sinking ship who patched it, stayed with it, turned it 180 degrees, and sailed it into the horizon, seaworthy and winworthy.

That alone, is Tim Tebow talkworthy. The fact that he holds the same faith as the majority of Americans is a welcome bonus.

      • Anonymous

It is Tebow’s true gift. He is a leader. Those who play with him respect him.

Listen to his promise in this press conference after the Gator’s devastating 2008 loss to Ole’ Miss. Tim Tebow went on after that to lead the Gators to win the National Championship.

It is just in this guy. It is all that is great about America. It is all the lefitists hate about America.

i just arrived home from work. while on the drive home i was able to get wbbm out of chicago. i am a chicago transplant. a chicago bear has been charged with the intent to deliver. what a waste of talent and opportunity. i grew up watching the cubs and bears. always hoping for more than what i received in return. i think tebow is the prime example that we as parents and grandparents ought to hold up

I feel much the same unclesamnephew. I grew up on the north side of the border and loved my Toronto (and a couple of US) teams as well- and while back in the older days most players were respectable guys on and off the field or rink, there were a few who soured the sportsmanship of it all. Waste of talent and oportunity- well said.

“It’s a shame that people out there are so ready to judge when they weren’t there to see what happened.” What a crock. If she’d have half a brain and sit and think about things, she might get a clue why people are getting angry.

I’ll trade my “great” QB Jay Cutler for this “below average” QB any day. He’s a leader. He’s a role model. He’s not a glory hound. He wins. Period.

Thanks for the open door, Bill.

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed but praise God that you bear that name. For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God: and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good. 1 Peter 14-19

In other words, keep doing what you are doing, Tim. Keep glorifying your Savior.

This guy is such a pathetic waste. What would he rather have, some guy, Michael Vick perhaps, perform a animal sacrifice after every game? Press, I pity you and those like you, who, because of your fear and pride hate anything good and to have someone acknowlege publically, their faith. It’s fear and pride because you hate that people can be so sure of something and you haven’t got a clue about. Guess what? You could know and accept that Jesus loves you- but you prefer to live in hatred and anger.

Right. He must be Christophobic like so many others these days. Isn’t atheism and godless behavior shoved down our throats 24/7, unless we turn off all media? Oooops, there it is again in the paper, and on that billboard, and in the grocery store.

Here’s a freakish suggestion. Live and let live. Since your side is doing the most orchestrated, persistent, shoving, on every media thoroughfare there is, at least let us have our freedom. You have yours, in spades. Give us ours. What are you the thought police, the spare this one person’s feelings while stomping on those of all the rest proponent?

Eat it press, you peon. Tebow has something you obviously lack. Who has he told to shut-up? Whose speech has he attempted to stifle? Should he change who he is for you? Who have you changed for?

If you had the fairness gene somewhere in your DNA, you might let him remain as he is…a good example to tens of millions of like-minded people, an inspiration to Christian athletes everywhere, a witness to the peace, power and position of God almighty, and…you can remain whatever it is you are.

Atheism is shoved down our throats? Name the last president to be openly atheistic. Read some money. Are you insane?

        • Anonymous

What the heck does the stated religion of a President have to do with anything?
No, I’m not insane. One of us is rabid and blind though. Go to a reputable veterinarian and get a shot. Easily cured.

By the way, do you watch TV, attend school, follow court rulings etc.?
Have you ever read and understood the 1st amendment? Check out both the “…shall make no law…” as well as the “…free exercise thereof…” part. If you can find the imaginary separation of church and state part, show me and I’ll send you a bevy of ‘bama bucks.

          • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

It has everything to do with it. The U.S. is, for all intents and purposes, a Christian nation even thought the first amendment does call for freedom of religion. We have the ability to practice religion as we please, but plenty of policy has been put in place due to organized religion. Thomas Jefferson, if that name rings a bell, did diligently promote separation of church and state. Also, the supreme court agreed that there would be such separation back in the 40′s. Christianity is shoved down our throats on a daily basis. Most of our morality based laws are a direct result of the Christian influence. Gay marriage bans? You think that is based on anything other than religion? Sodomy laws? Tax laws favoring traditional Christian families? Not being able to get booze on Sundays? Christmas? No? Nothing? Really? Atheism is being shoved down our throats? Seriously? Wow, talk about blind.

            • Anonymous

You’re a liar and an idiot, and no one is reading this. You are upside down and backwards. What you are talking about is separation of religion and freedom. Shove it!

Try freedom. Freedom for you to distribute your idiocy and freedom for me and Tebow to distribute the truth, you several days late, and a million dollars short dingbat.

              • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

No one is reading this? Clearly you are. Separation of religion and freedom? No. There is separation of church and state in this country according to the constitution, but it clearly isn’t enforced. My “truth” is documented, tangible, and transparent. It’s the fucking constitution. It’s ALL of the things I mentioned in the last post. Those are undeniable facts. Your “truth” is a fairy tale fed by ignorance, fear, and talk radio/tv hosts that care more about ratings than what is best for this country. P.S. God threw 4 interceptions this week.

Just stop putting the microphone in his face if you don”t want to hear him talk. Tebow (as far as I know) never tells others what to do, particularly regarding religion. He is telling the world how he feels and what he thinks. Not interested? Don’t ask…

  • Anonymous

It all comes down to this verse:

Joh 15:21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.

The Word of God is perfect in every way. Our Christian hearts should grieve for these people because they don’t know God. They don’t know the Saviour Jesus Christ and they are on their way to a devil’s hell because of their rejection of the Saviour.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

You can be an athiest, agnostic or pray to a tree if you like but to say that Tebow is an embarrassment is just plain nasty. Period. I am Jewish and I am proud to see Tim Tebow take a knee and praise his god –true, honest and innocent spirituality is so rare in this world that it should be protected and nurtured. I have never heard this guy say a single bad word about anyone, even his detractors. So, to all you haters, leave the boy alone.

  • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

He isn’t hating on Christianity or religion. He’s making fun of Tebow thanking Jesus and God for things that are happening on a FOOTBALL FIELD. The point is that if God cares that much about football, then we are all f#$&ed. Many athletes are Christians and allow that faith to be PERSONAL, as it should be. Why does he have to convince everyone publicly that he loves Jesus. It’s just like the idiots that propose to their girlfriends on camera. It should be a personal relationship. It seems pretentious the way he does it.

    • Anonymous

Are you offended by people showing their Christianity? Or do you think they are just like the idiots that propose to their girlfriends on camera?

      • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

How do you feel about gays showing their love publicly?

        • Anonymous

What difference does that make? Nobody is talking about gays right now. Why are you changing the subject?

Keep in mind that Tebow isn’t operating the camera and they can edit out anything they don’t want people to see. So the question is; why do they want people to see him praying? Do you think people should alter their life so as not offend you.

          • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

Once again, how do you feel about gays not altering their lives so as not to offend you? It’s called an analogy. It’s not changing the subject at all. I’m pointing out the hypocrisy.

    • Anonymous

What seems pretentious to me is all the silliness that happens everytime a player makes a sack, strips the ball, recovers a stripped ball or catches a pass, or scores….back in my day nobody did all that foolishness.

Tebow at least has a reason other than self-aggrandisement.

      • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

It’s entertainment. That’s all it is. If you don’t think waiting til the camera is turned toward you to kneel and praise god isn’t self-aggrandizement… You think he does that after he takes out the garbage?

        • Anonymous

Entertainment is watching a bunch of men throw a ball around and knocking each other down. Tim Tebow has made a choice to follow the most important thing in his life and he doesn’t need to wait until the media is gone and he is alone in his room. And yes, I hope he does when he takes out the trash too.

The only people I see here that has a problem with what people do is you and Bill Press. I will take a guess that you call yourself “tolerant”. Tolerant except where Christian’s are concerned. We all have limits to our tolerance, even you.

          • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

I don’t feel a need to be tolerant toward Christians. There’s nothing to tolerate as long as they allow me to live my life the way I choose. Some of my closest relatives are priests. I love them to death. I, along with many others, feel that Tebow’s “showing of love” is contrived. He doesn’t do it when he takes out the trash, I assure you.

    • Anonymous

Really? So if after every game the Broncos won Tebow said, “I’d like to thank the creators of Gatorade for making the drink that refreshes and re-energizes my body and my talent” you’d be okay with that? And Bill Press wouldn’t find that “a disgrace” and “embarrassing”?

      • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

He was calling his football ability embarrassing and the hype over it embarrassing. Thanking gatorade would at least be honest. Also, his endorsement deals speak for themselves.

    • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

If faith in Christ was meant to be personal, the faith would have died with the last apostle. Many atheletes may be Christian, but the fact is Tebow lives his faith on and OFF the field, which is what sets him apart from many others. He’s not trying to convince anyone of anything. He’s praising God in whatever he does. If he was trying to ‘convince’ as you call it, he’d be grabbing the mic at the end of the game and giving a sermon.

      • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

You really think he kneels down and praises Jesus when after he takes a piss?

    • K-Bob

Pretentious would be thinking you can perform at that level because you are such an exceptional human being.

I guess your opinion should be completely personal too Van, I’m offended by your offense. I’m offended that you want to deny this man both his freedom of religion and of speech. I’m offended that you want to speak your mind but don’t want him to speak his mind. Your as consistent as a blind archer. Speak your mind somewhere in private OK? Some of what you say is good for him might be good for you too.

One’s girlfriend is not the creator of the universe and everything in it, (including you), nor the author and finisher of anyone’s salvation. Proposing to a girlfriend in public won’t help anyone gain salvation or find God. Tim’s example might do precisely that. See the difference?

God can walk, chew gum, and attend the creation moment and the crucifixion moment simultaneously. He can answer your prayer, my prayer and Tim’s prayer simultaneously. He knows how many hairs are on your head. Multitasking is not an issue with him. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, and I won’t shut up about him either.

Very well said my friend. Four stars.

      • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

Never said I was offended. Why is this assumed? I’m just saying that it is unnecessary. I happen to not believe in god, but the people that I associate with that do believe it to be a personal relationship. I know that the majority of people on this board are simply going to defend everything they already “feel” is right instead of actually THINKING about these things. It’s easier that way. It’s easier to assume I was offended because for some reason Christians in this country feel persecuted even though they are the majority. I think makes them feel brave for believing in the same thing most people in this country are taught to believe. Football is ENTERTAINMENT and should be treated as such. If a guy wants to celebrate by dancing after a touchdown, who cares? That’s his job – to entertain. Putting god so openly into sport is not only giving a false sense of importance to the sport, but diminishing the value of god. To say that god gives a damn about football is to call god petty. That’s not very Christian now is it? It doesn’t matter no one will actually read this for what it is. You’ll just start thinking about how to “counter”. It’s all we do in this country. It’s terribly sad. I should also be said that conservative is not equal to Christian and liberal is not equal to non-Christian. That’s something that you’d like to believe to further drive your hatred of those you don’t agree with. People are complex individuals that shouldn’t be put in these boxes and then sent off to fight the people in the “other” box. It’s horrific for the individual and the collective.

About the girlfriend analogy – it’s an analogy of love. Tebow isn’t proclaiming to spread the word, he claims to show his love. You don’t need a public display to “show your love”. If you need a football player to show you God, you’re missing the point.

        • Anonymous

There you go again making a “public display” of yourself.

The Prosection rests…while the accused implodes :-)

        • Anonymous

As an atheist (assumed because you don’t believe in god), you want to instruct Christians when and how to be Christian. It’s a good thing that Christians have people like you to identify our shortcomings and failures, because we don’t have the capability of thinking for ourselves, unlike you. Did you know that some the greatest thinkers in world history have dedicated their lives and minds to the Creator. Text books have erased that kind of information so I thought I would tell you.

Please tell me more about the drive of my hatred, I don’t know you and I don’t know how you could know me. So I am amazed at your ability to see my heart over the internet.

And the most interesting thing is that you say people should not be put into a box but you immediately came here and put Tebow, me and my friends into box and then lectured us on it.

Rshill7 has a good response below, probably the appropriate one, but I had to respond. So I’ll tell you what, I won’t go to atheist sites and explain how to not believe in God, if you don’t come here and tell me how to be a Christian.

          • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

SCORE!!!! Nice touchdown my friend and brother!!! Beauty eh! (I only reserve that last part for when I am very impressed!) :-)

          • http://www.facebook.com/rkaupp Van Persand Wich

Did you not read what I wrote? I don’t participate in any atheist sites, as I’m not an atheist, nor would I if I were. It’s this us vs. them mentality that has ruined this country. Atheists vs. Christians, Dems vs. Reps., Conservative/liberal. Gay/straight. Black/White. Just think. Think real hard.

Tim, you’re walking the walk. Don’t be discouraged. Worry when they all get polite:
“Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” (Luke 6:26)

    John 15:18-19:
“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” (Jesus is speaking.)

    John 15:25:
“But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’ ”
    (Jesus is speaking.)

He’s my Lord and Savior, too. Although I try, I’m not worthy, but by God’s grace, through the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross, we don’t have to be.

Soli Deo Gloria! (To God alone be the glory!)

To tell the truth I don’t really know much about Tim Tebow, anyone who professes a love of God and believes in Jesus Christ our saviour is worth defending to the death. I wonder if Mrs. Press tells her husband to STFU when he tells her he loves her. God never ever gets tired of our professed love for Him, His only begotten Son or the Holy Spirit and neither should anyone else.

Well, there’s the real left for you. At least he was honest about it and spoke his mind, I’ll say that much for him. Doesn’t make it any less difficult to hear or any less pathetic on Press’s part though. I guess liberal inclusiveness and multiculturalism stops abruptly at Christians. Tebow most assuredly, as I, will turn the other cheek and forgive him. Its the Christian thing to do.

Well, Press. Tim has the right to have his beliefs in Jesus. About 85% of America believes in Jesus. You have the right to not believe, but you do not have the right to limit free speech in this country. By the way, it is all about eternal life with God the Father and Creator. Good Luck, hope you reconsider before it is too late. God bless you.

I read through every comment here and am heading to sleep tonight with such joy and gratitude! Thanks to ABC, Rshll, Westernman, John 3 3, KBob and ALL the rest of you who have taken a stand to speak of your love for God and Christ Jesus. This is the most wonderful group of folks ever. Thank you for reminding me why fellowship keeps our “watch” strong– on the wall with Nehemiah, with a tool to repair in one hand and a weapon in the other.

One of the nicest, sweetest comments I’ve ever seen. Thank you my brother (or sister?) ;-) I’m grateful for Scoop who allows us to stand for Christ here. It’s a rarity anymore- and TRScoop is an outstanding place.

I don’t practice any religion, and I don’t believe in God, but I find the remarks made by Press to be truly disgusting. I have no problem with Tebow or those who have that differ from mine re: religion and God. Guess that’s why I’m not a liberal. ;)
