I like this story because I don’t think this can get said enough today.
Lolo Jones isn’t couching her position of abstinence until marriage in a religious principle and I have no idea if she’s even a Christian. Even so, given the animus toward abstinence and virginity in our culture and the obsession with sex, I have to applaud her for having the courage to say it out loud. It’s something that every person should consider because sex is a very intimate bond that God created special for a husband and wife. Besides that, the consequences for sex outside of marriage can be catastrophic to someone’s life.
So I am grateful for at least one voice in the pop culture speaking up on behalf of abstinence. Watch below:
