I heard an interview this morning from a doctor that served with Hasan at Walter Reed and he stated that Hasan never counseled men and women returning from Irag or Afghanistan so where did all this so-called PTSD come from!? He stated that doctors are specifically trained to counsel returning combat vets, and not all do and Hasan was not trained in this area, so all the media regarding this is lies. The doctors "specialize" in this area. So basically what Hasan is, is a terrorist that should be tried for treason and premeditated murder.t2e@yahoo.com

I am a VN vet and practicing psychologist – I work with military members who have returned from OEF/OIF. My stomach turned yesterday listening to mental health experts. such as Dr. Phil – where is he licensed anyway? – turning this murderous major into a victim. Bullcrap! This guy should not have been seeing combat veterans. The Army screwed up and every veteran out there knows it! Someone should be fired for not having the backbone for getting rid of this radical. Yes, it's possible to suffer from PTSD because you've heard about something bad happening to someone else, but it has to have happened to someone you cared about or identified with. Who could believe that Hasan really cared about the patients he worked with? No, he wasn't beaten up by listening to his patients talking about their wartime experiences. Like others of his persuasion, he is an absolutist – he wouldn't accomodate or try to understand beliefs that were different than his own. God help us all if we don't learn from this tragedy!

I agree with Lt Col Peters. The P.C. attitude began as a well-meaning effort toward restraint of pen and tongue; it has morphed into denial of Truth and Integrity. Those who did not care for the Ft Hood murderer based their opinions on what the major said; Americans were murdered yesterday by a man who was crazed. He killed my people and I do not want to lose any more brave Americans. “Don't be afraid to see what you see” (paraphrase of Ronald Reagan)
