Marc is a very very smart man. His book, while it scared the crap out of me, was an excellent history of the enhanced interrogation techniques and he did side by side comparisons to the torturous regimes that have used similar yet different techniques to ours. In all cases our techniques were humane and performed with a doctor observing who could stop them at any time where they to feel that the detainee was in danger. It made me furious when I finished the book because we now have no access to these techniques and because of The One’s release of details we can’t use them anymore even if we wanted too because folks can be trained in resistance to them.

“performed with a doctor observing who could stop them at any time”
Well, as long as a doctor is present… this was a similar assurance to Dr. Mengele or Dr. Ishii’s patients. Not to say that we need to get weak kneed when interrogating an avowed enemy, but a wake up call that an Army Doctor is not immune from lapse of judgment when detainment is performed in secret. We have the technology that we should have video of every moment of interrogation as much to look for missing clues as to remind the interrogators that they might answer some day to their actions. Checks and balances, in every movement made by the government, military or civilian.

“Terrorists who were waterboarded”
This is a joke, right!? While basking in the Caribbean sun, these flunkies get splashed with a little bit of water and a castrated administration bans it. In Minsk, where the average temperature runs below zero 13 months a year, we endure the much more brutal “snowboarding”, and some love it so much it’s turned into a favorite among winter sports.

You thought enhanced interrogations were bad? Looks like the “twelvers” in Iran are about to have an even worse time. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/05/ahmadinejad-allies-charged-with-sorcery

Sorcery? Hmmmm interesting and a shake up too – wow.

In an ideal world we would not have to use brutal interrogations but it is not the reality that we are dealing with…the result of interrogations brought down osama.
