Rand Paul was on FOX News three times this week speaking in intelligible English on real issues. He is a model for opening up the conversation to actual concerns and various sides to them It may actually be possbile to have national conversations on issues if R. Paul could get to the forefront. I was so amazed by the quality of his conversation (I obviously like that word to describe the Rand effect!) I may not agree with all his points yet, but I don't think there can be any denying the issues are further illucidated when he speaks. Please see his homepage for videos of him this week, and for a list of the bills he's sponsoriong. A real do-er, earning his pay, anyway.
Also, he opposes Obama effectively on major issues, I think, without getting crazed. A real plus.
BTW, I wrote to him about what he said, disappointingly, in his State of the Union about the Immigration issue.. I am impressed that he wrote a detailed letter (no doubt form) to me in response. No one actually responds! This is interesting. It did not answer all my questions, but he did point out things I did not know but certainly need to know, if I care about the issue now, not waiting until 2016. Also, I feel sure that if I continue to write I will at least be heard, more than by any other politician. In short, he is reasonable and responsible, attentive, willing and eager to dialog. Therefore, someone worth paying attention to.
Rubio? All flash, and that is disturbing.
I am convinced the youth could respond very well to someone who doesn't pander and talk down to them, but instead appealed to their native, though dormant, intelligence. They are young, and that is a characteristic of youth. They are, I believe, also longing for truth and end up acting out in desperation without it.
I really wonder if anyone else hears intelligent life in these apearances on Fox this week.

While I agree that politicians should stay informed and not appear as "old out of touch farts" I have mixed emotions. We already have a POTUS that seems to glorify himself in the entertainment industry. I guess I'm one of those old farts, need to bring myself FORWARD, huh?
It's great that he sincerely likes the music. Personally, it's not my cup of tea.
But how fast would a hip hop artist demand Rubio pull their song if he decided to use it at an event?

Just one minor correction. Marco Rubio DOES NOT, "Belong to the Tea Party! One of his first acts upon becoming a member of the United States senate, was to refuse to join the senates Tea Party caucus. Marco Rubio is a Bushbot RINO!
We'll finally have a candidate who can appeal to what younger people actually know something about. Not sure if this will trump legalizing dope by Libertarians, only time will tell.
Rubio is NOT a natural born citizen and therefore does NOT qualify to be President. Do we just change the Constitution without amendments? Why does he think that new immigration laws will be followed by the executive branch when the present laws are ignored? Republicans are such fools!
The Hussein regime has set precedent of central power in the Executive Branch. He is now unchallenged in that.
Being able to install a "citizen of the world" in the Executive Branch is crucial to the next phases.
That also sets another crucial precedent for globalism - unchallenged violations of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

This is exactly why we need our candidates to be "cool." Obama is seen as "cool" because he appears on late night shows and he knows a little bit about hip hop. That's why he won. Young people are ill-informed and uninterested in politics, so they say, "Oh, I like Obama, because he's cool."
Voters who think "cool" is importatant, see Obama as a cool guy in a suit. They see Rubio a a guy in suit trying to be cool.
Rubios' image builders pay for theses show slots. Like a O'Reilly on his book tours on The View. The hosts are polite and go along with it for the money.
Correct, the media has created an image of "O" that he would be fun to party with. How does anyone expect to entice LIV (low information voters) whom see only what they are shown and decide by what they are told, unless they create an image to fit LIV liking.
Not saying I think Rubio is the one, frankly I have never been impressed with him, less so when I'm told he's great by the GOP… What we are seeing is Rubio acting like what rove desires, move to the center, and taking on social issues, like a leftist. Or as I like to say a dem of the past...
Just because someone has appeal to LIV does not mean they cannot be capable, intelligent, responsible, and conservative.
Reagan had ability, no preaching to the choir, or talking at someone, instead he, engage, educated, an instill belief of a better future. Reagan was not afraid to engage dialog with whom held opposition to his views. He backed up his vision for America and the world with results. Not a pathetic, less then anemic past four years, and a future even dimmer looming a head.
Why are we the only ones that can see what impact the LIV have on votes? Upwards of 30% 18-24 y/o get their "news" from the Daily Show and Colbert. We MUST co-opt their message. Glad you see what I see.
The correct candidate could appeal and educate LIV's without them feeling preached too. LIV are superficial, if they can be told by the right people they should like someone, they will...

Even if the bankers keep the rates low, the noose is closing. Obama will hand the throne of a broken nation, to Rubio or another dutiful noble who has shown no resistance to his surrender of America to a global order. It won't matter who it is who seizes the throne, except to those seeking crumbs.
The days of a free Republic are numbered. Anyone in DC not fighting Hussein and his patrons tooth and nail, has simply resigned them self to their place in the new pecking order of a globalist political class.

Marco Rubio is not a true conservative. He is far too cozy with the establishment when it suits him and only stands on principle when it is convenient. He supported John Kerry for Secretary of State, and his immigration plan does not require the border to be secure before amnesty is given. Allen West did an excellent interview with Bill Whittle and they both agreed that Marco Rubio is led by his own political ambition and not by what is in the best interest of the nation... and I think we have had quite enough of that!

Although I agree with much of it in reference in re to the "ruling" class- I dont see anything identifying the party's inner workings to Pres Bush and a "Mafia" as you put it. If people on the right are mis-classifying him, there is not much difference between us and the left.
They are the "Ruling Class" elites of the Republican party. They are corrupt crony capitalists who have more in common with leftists than conservatives and they believe in "Big Government." Conservatives are the "Country Class."

Let me understand this,Rubio was a liberal Florida state senator. A liberal Florida House speaker. He lied about his parents being refugees from Castro's communist Cuba, when they actually came over well before Castro had taken over. Rubio's personal finances are in a mess. Rubio's first act upon entering the United States senate was to refuse to join the senate Tea Party caucus. When the internet freedom destroying PIPA legislation ( The senate counter part to the House's SOPA Bill ) was actually read and the BLEEP hit the fan after the American people found out what was actually in it, Rubio and every other republican acted "Shocked" and vowed to vote against it when it hit the senate floor which thankfully they did. The problem is Rubio was the co-sponsor of the Bill and Lied about not knowing what was in it. Last summer Rubio was working behind the scenes with the dems on a separate 'Dream Act' which he refused to disclose the details of and the current version he's behind, contains a monstrous provision to create a National id card under the guise of needing it to prevent illegals from taking jobs away from American citizens. If Rubio and company were concerned about Americans losing jobs to illegals, they would be blocking the borders. So this is just another in a long series of lies by Rubio. With all due respects RS, our Great Country is being driven into the crapper ( Some say deliberately ) and we are possibly on the verge of a Civil War and people are impressed because this duplicitous weasel knows hip hop? He shouldn't have the time to about know hip hop with all the problems we are facing. Also, just an FYI for everybody, Eric Cantor during his 60 minutes profile also waxed poetic about Hip Hop and claimed to be a big fan. Yes, that Eric Cantor. So this must have been focus grouped tested. Finally, get it through your Heads, Rubio, Christie etal, are willing smokescreens and cannon fodder for Jebbie. I was not referring to Rubio's lies about his parents coming here in regards to His eligibility to be President, if that is what you are implying. I'm sure he's eligible. I was referring to Rubios lying about his parents escaping Communist Cuba when in actuality Rubio's parents left before Castro took over, as a way to get Conservative street cred. Scoop, they are missing the point. Lazy, uninformed voters are electing our politicians. They watch pop culture and little else, but the propaganda (always from the left) compels them to vote for the "cool" person. Andrew Breitbart got it; I saw several posts a few weeks ago (I think on NRO) that we (Conservatives) need to buy magazines, a major newspaper, and a network to offset the leftist slant; and just last week a caller to Rush suggested that some of our PAC's run commercials and PSA's on all popular cable channels, NOT for candidates, year-round, but more as a PSA of Conservative values that most people inherently embrace when presented properly. I scoffed at Obama going on all of the pop culture-type programs in 2012, but it got him re-elected. We MUST counter that.
True his parents were here as exiles and were still Cuban Citizens when he was born. That establishes him as a dual allegiance, qualified to hold the office of US Senate but not eligible for POTUS. No more eligible than I would consider the son of Vladimir Putin, whom his wife gave birth while on our soil under a legal visa.
If someone said otherwise here I would probably consider them ill informed or deceived by the GOP and the good Senator himself, but not a lair.
I don't see an issue here. Rubio has exposure to hip hop and has an opinion regarding artists. It would be like asking Kennedy about Sinatra in the late 1950's.
If this opens a door of exposure for Rubio to a younger crowd I say more power to him. It certainly puts an obstacle in the lefts argument of the GOP being the party of Old White Guys!

Obama won because he has this ability. He has the ability to campaign and win votes. In this case, Rubio is appealing to young people and low information voters who vote based on "cool" image. If you want someone who doesn't have the ability to do a good job campaigning... ...then you want to lose.
It ought to make you nervous when you see the liberal Democrats with this ability. It should make you excited when you see a conservative Republican with this ability.

I'm not happy with it either, but if we want to elect a Republican president we need to get more of the Hispanic vote. Before the Democrats got the civil rights act enacted in 1963 a majority of black people where Republicans as was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. If Rubio was elected Pres., even if he did do some sort of amnesty type action I would guarantee or bet you everything I own he would secure our borders. And his plan states that that must happen first, securing the borders.
McCain has done more than one run for amnesty and won't stop until he is forced from office.
McCain isn't Hispanic either. But it seems he's come back on the scene and wants to take the wind out of the sails of Rubio's influence on any negotiations. Don't forget that he is in a border state. Sort of.
