Under Clinton when the Democrats pushed for welfare reform the Republicans insisted on the work requirement to support it. Without the work requirement it NEVER would have passed.
Now in the 1st term of the 1st Democrat President elected since what does he do but strip out the requirement Republicans negotiated in good faith. Without the work requirement the law is no longer legal because it wouldn't exist without it.
How are we Republicans to EVER negotiate anything with the Democrats in the future on things like SS & medicare reform when they have shown they simply won't enforce any part of a law passed by Congress they don't like?
Obama has gone too far. This has done permanent damage to our ability to pass ANY law now. What's the point of working to pass a law when it won't even be enforced by the executive?
This danger here cannot be overstated.

I agree with Mark wholeheartedly. But, why can't we get him and his cronies impeached? What good is our Constitution if we can't enforce it?
It can be enforced, the Repubs are too chicken to do it which makes them part of the problem. Obama wants conservatives mad at the Repubs so we don't vote at all, making it easier for him to get re-elected.
When is Congress going to step up and discuss impeaching Obsma as well - he put his hand on the bible and swore to administer the laws of the USA as well as adhering to the Checks and Balances of the Constitution- he has failed on this oath
Sebelius is not a Christian is not a surprice. Even Jeremiah Wright said Obama was "not religious." Religion to alot of liberal politicians is just a tool used to lie to gain public office. The corruption of this entire administration is a disgrace, but their lies and deceptions will continue as long as the mainstream media supports it as fact.
Sebellius is a Roman Catholic and it is shameful that her beliefs are against her own religion. Her local clergy told her she is not permitted to receive the eucharist. She should be excommunicated.
I fear what the Obama admin will do as we get closer to the elections and he realizes he won't win. Heaven help US.
The reality is that this is now out of the hands of the voters and will need be decided by prayer and the fighters. I keep hearing how difficult it is going to be to bring back some semblance of what this nation used to be and each day it becomes even worse. We are looking to politicians who are collectively using the power of their position to enrich themselves on the back of taxpayers and then shield themselves from the responsibility of their oaths. Their silence tells us all we need to know about where they stand on following the constitution and the Bible.
There will be no impeachment of Sebelius or any of the Communist Leftists. There is barely a whimper from anyone in congress save for Allen West, and he has been targeted by Soros and the media. One or even a few voices speaking truth in congress will not make a difference. It is only fodder for the left to distort and for conservatives to enjoy a momentary high.
This is so many years in the making that any real renewal has been lost a long time. On a secular level we need to replace almost every elected official with a common sense statesman, the equivalent of eliminating an infestation of cockroaches with a flyswatter.
Many years ago we turned our back on the Lord and we are now reaping what we have sown. There is no returning to the lost freedoms without His blessing and we are not going to receive His blessing until we cry out for Him. Most of my friends here know that the United States is not mentioned in the final battle of Revelations. So this is also a prophecy in itself. The strength of this nation will be so weakened that it fails to be mentioned in John's vision. But it doesn't mean that Christians have not prevailed over evil and tyranny.
If we put our faith in men like Romney who do not believe that Jesus is the Savior (which is another slap in Gods face), we are going to get what we deserve...again. Just like every time we go to the voting booth, we end up casting a vote for the lesser of two evils and watch our freedoms erode.
I have not been a good steward of the Lord, but I know this to be the truth, I am going to commit and prepare the coming battle. Get on my knees, get right with the Lord, and when He chooses the time, be ready, there will be much required of me, us.
Don't be so sure about that - my understanding of the Creator isn't even close to yours, and I'm as Constitutionalist as they come. If and when the SHTF here, I will not leave my America. I will stay and fight. I love the concept of a nation of free people, though realistically I have never known it...I'm under 50, after all, and we've not been free in many, many years. Nonetheless, the oath I took to protect & defend the Constitution has no expiration date. Let them push and goad and agitate until they have the fight they think they want. It will not go as they expect, of that I am quite sure.
I agree with every ounce of that comment. I've said this same thing too anyone that would listen but I couldn't put as well as you did.
When we take out the trash in November we must go back and survey the damage done and then put in place laws and regs so this can never happen again.

The work for welfare program started out with great results, but over the years has turned into just another BIG scam on the tax payers. I saw a report earlier about what was "reported by recipients" as having a job and I constrained myself from throwing something at my TV.
It was reported on FOX, but I can't find the report right now. But hey, all they have to do is fill in the blanks. The required "work" reports from the states to the fed were so revealing as to what was accepted as "work" (took a Yoga/exercise class; ran errands for my neighbor; did some chores for family members, etc.) So the fraud was exposed, and now the states no longer have to report.
Same thing with unemployment, food stamps, etc. Makes me sick! We've all been paying for this garbage.
Can't wait to listen to Levin (via his website) in another 1/2 hour.
Obama is pandering to his minority voting block, implementing more reparations, and reducing the employment % by taking this HUGE group of individuals out of the unemployment calculation.
Ok, color me ignorant here but why is it that when the President does things that are not allowed by the US Constitution things get implimented? I mean if someone refused to do what he or she was told by someone that does not have the authority to give such an order then how can one be prosecuted?
I just don't understand why someone in Congress or some political party put out huge press releases, television commercials and radio spots to tell as many people as possible everytime a President, not just Obama but ANY president, does something or tries to enact law or regulation that they are not allowed to under the Constitution. A seated president would probably not risk something stupid if they knew that the moment that they tried it would be all over the place and not just on a show like Levin's.
There needs to be much more vetting, on an ongoing basis, of this kind of ku-rap.

I say the czars are the ones doing all this while he fundraises or, WHATEVER he does all day, he is clueless. It already has become routine and acceptable. Where is the Congress. I hate to agree with Obama when he says the Congress has become irrelevant, but it has if they don't start to speak out and act now.
It's amazing that even at the start of Obama's term, this action would not have been acceptable. We have fallen so far down the rabbit hole in just 3 1/2 years, that I wonder how dramatic the turnaround will have to be. But, indeed, it must be turned around, at any cost.

Step I was thinking something very similar...wanted to call the family but knew it would only be an hour of "can you believe the.... can you believe what...... How can this happen?....." and this moment, I just can't take it. I know I will feel strong again soon...but for now...some fantasy. Reality is just too nightmarish.

I think the country would get behind him if they knew he recognized what is killing our freedom and our economy. Maybe this needs to take place closer to the convention, but I think it would sell him to to the majority.
