lee... I couldn't agree with you more.... but permit me to add to your very accurate assessment.........in biblical times....... Egyptians (pharoah) enslaved the Jews for 400 years by (AFRICANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) ...Then there is a very secretive, historical fact that NEVER made it into our history books..... that slavery in the 1500's, involved enslaving poor, "WHITE", European's along the Barbary Coast!! Poor Irish, French, and Italian, would very often be nabbed off ships by Africans and Arabs and seperated from their families and sold into slavery, and recieved brutal treatment..... just do a simple search... it is there for us to see ....but no one ever heard about that...nor our children because it doesn't fit into the liberal agenda..... and because we have to be on a never ending White guilt trip!! Does any White person or Jew ever remember recieing an apology from that side of the world for having enslaved us 1st???? But lee you are right, slavery has been going on for a long time....it certainly didn't start in America..... and it still continues today!!!!
Anyone else think that the Founders meant "We are all created equal spiritually."? That's the impression i get. The spiritual & temporal realms should be discussed more by conservatives. In this view, we can say that temporal slavery is a sin, and so is spiritual slavery, and i'm sure this is how the slaves viewed it also. I'm just trying to bring the Christian perspective into this.
It would seem that America is the ONLY country in the world today that is still apologizing for slavery. Read the writings by David Livingston on the Arab slave-traders in Africa. It will make your blood curl. Are the Arabs apologizing for a millenia of slavery? Slavery did not end in Brazil until 1888. Are the Portugese who colonized Brazil still apologizing for slavery? The Spanish in Cuba? What about the French Caribbean slave owners...the black African slave owners, the Maori prisoners of war in New Zealand who became slaves, the Kauwa outcasts/POW's in Hawaii who became slaves..and I could go on. Any black person living in America today should get down on their hands and knees and thank providence that their ancestors were brought to America instead of any other nation. Slavery is evil and anti-human, but it has existed for thousands of years up to and including 2012. Given the history of manhind, it will most likely always exist.
Just got home from seeing Spielberg's Lincoln. It is a wonderful testimony to the genius that is the Constitution. Would recommend EVERYONE see it. It should be required in high school.....without the swearing.
I came away embarrassed by the depth of the intellectual chasm between Lincoln and our politicians and leaders of today. Stunning difference!
I am hoping that Mark gets to Gov Palin and convinces her to run as a 3rd Party Candidate if the Republicans break their promises again - if not a 3rd Party then she needs to go for the GOP Republican Nomination - Enough of these Wimps and broken promise repeaters!!!!

At our founding slavery was an institution practiced worldwide. Women were chattels around the world. It was a different time and place. Liberals and others pretend not to know that. They act as if the Constitution was written last year. It is remarkable that when all other civilized nations were under the rule of kings and Queens somehow the founders came up with a totally different idea and as Mark stated had the foresight to allow for the correction of the inequity of slavery. Anyone who doesn't understand this is either pretending they don't understand or doesn't have the intelligence to understand.
As I said the bulk of the population does understand. They would rather be evil than see the truth.

That argument has been made repeatedly. Problem is everyone presumes Obama cares about economic vitality. He doesn't and it is apparent. He cares about instituting communism and getting even for any perceived slight since time began against Blacks. History doesn't matter. Facts don't matter. Rational thought and behavior do not matter.
The only thing that matters is his righteous indignation and the indignation of the misguided who agree with him.
All you need to do is to remember what he has said repeatedly about the Founding Fathers and the Constitution.

If you said to them "the sky is blue." The liberal Progressive will say "NO IT'S PURPLE DAMN IT!!! Next to the BIBLE (Old and New Testament) the Torah and The Ten and Two Commandments, these documents lead us to overcome our sins and keep us in the Way of Life.
However, lately, especially since Obama was elected (but first, when Romney was Governor of MA when he enacted public funding for abortion and gay marriage) the US has enacted laws that enable us to break all of God's Commandments and some that would force us to do so.

We can debate all day long the motivations for this particular evil but the fact remains it is still evil at the end of the day and at the end of time. Intent matters. It has always mattered. It matters with God because he knows what is in your heart and it matters with people too. Look at the law...we do indeed take a look at intent in regards to prosecuting and at trial, be it criminal or civil.

This man has no respect for The Constitution, no respect for Congress, no respect for the legislative process, and he and his fat wife both hate America. He is so in love with himself, he thinks the teleprompter, is a mirror.

Personally I think everyone should go John Galt as much as possible especially during this fourth quarter which is the Christmas season. Most don't know what the fourth quarter comprises for business. To put it succinctly it is the super Bowl for the economy and sets the stage for whole rest of the year. John Galt it as much as possible! No one can totally John Galt it because the system is rigged so that you can't totally, but you can mostly. Make people live with their votes and the consequences, especially the 18-30 crowd. Yes I know not all 18-30 yr. old's voted that way but those aren't the ones that are going to have problems are they?! We also should, while we are at it, bring back the Christ in Christmas in a big way since he is what Christmas is about to begin with.
Next up I recommend we present a united front and tell our congressmen to do one of two things. Either hold the line on tax increases if the required spending cuts won't take place (which they won't see history most especially Reagan and Bush Sr.) or Thelma and Louise it off of that fiscal cliff that is so artificial that it is ridiculous.
The Democrats want ton play chicken...let them play it with the gas pedal all the way to the floor and the brake lines cut.
P.S. Many of those businesses in that consumer driven economy are also using the profits they make off of you against you.

I totally agree. Let's see if they do but we need to apply pressure. My congressman is a liberal Democrat, so liberal she is communist. However I give quite a bit of money to a very prominent conservative congressman and he has gotten phone calls to both of his offices as well as letters. As this progresses he will get more.
I also called Boehner's office and will be putting a letter in the mail today.

Did the Democrat party originate over maintaining slavery? Why is it that Republicans are always challenged on the issue of slavery when republicans have a long history of fighting institutional slavery when and wherever the opportunity presented itself whether in the Constitution or the Civil Rights Legislation where Lyndon Johnson absolutely needed republican vote to pass civil rights legislation. Now, I want to know where is the democrat party background about slavery and their attempts to defeat it? Now where! And it was only recent history that they wrapped their arms around Black Americans when they received the given the right to vote. The right to vote in the Constitution but special provisions needed to be made for Black Americans because of the democrats and their insatiable desire to keep Black Americans out of the voting booth. Who is it that tried to institutional Jim Crow laws? The democrats! What party was it that tried to prevent Black Americans from attending school? The Democrat party! The democrats party entire existence is based on a lie!
Something that I mentioned in another TRS post. The Republicans among us, do not know how to message. Democrats have an ugly history. We don't expose it. It is as simple as that.

I mean you don't get any worse than tree hanging or implementing Jim Crow methods to keep down an entire race of people because of the color of their skin. This was all created and implemented by Democrats. Democrats harbor evil whether in the early 1900's thru the 60's to now with this Marxist-Leninist ideology and agenda! Their objective today is to tare down the Constitution and eliminate America as we have known it and as we know it now. I predict that in 4 years America will look very different than today.
I have no doubt what you say is true, about what America will look like in four years. We have to find a way, using Tea Party principles, to re-capture the hearts and minds of the American people, and in the process, make it clear to them what Democratic policies are doing to our economy, our people and our nation as a whole. God willing.
I don't think we will accomplish that task, under the current Republican (lack of)leadership.
