Mark Levin grills Alaska Lt Gov over Write-In Ballots

The Lt. Governor in Alaska, Craig Campbell, is responsible for the counting of recent electoral write-in ballots, and Mark Levin had him on this evening to better understand how the process would work. Levin had a couple of problems with the decisions Campbell has made already during this process, namely moving the date up for the recount to start, from his initial decision of 15 days after the election to 8 days after the election. Considering the Miller campaign had asked to move it back to give them more time to get people up there, Levin grilled him a bit to understand why he didn’t honor that. Campbell argued that it is more important for this to be done in a timely fashion, but Levin countered that it is more important for it to be done accurately.

The bigger issue though was the decision for Campbell to allow ‘voter intent’ to be determined by the ‘non-partisan’ panel. Levin argued that nothing in the statute mentioned anything about voter intent, but Campbell said that he and the Attorney General don’t want to disenfranchise voters, and cited the courts as a method of ironing out the problems. On this issue, Levin really held Campbell’s feet to the fire, as it is the most important issue.

I am posting the whole 14 minute interview. Don’t be dismayed by it’s length, it’s really good.

Enjoy!
