Levin is rather dismayed at a video that has emerged where Mitt Romney is not only misrepresenting capitalism, but saying that he isn’t a classical Republican when it comes to economics, which he also misrepresents. Levin says he just doesn’t know who Romney really is:

I honestly do not know if Mitt Romney is a conservative or not! I honestly don’t know if he’s a free market conservative or not! He has evolved on every single major issue I can think of, and not over a course of time, but over a course of a few years. Pro-abortion, now pro-life. Against classical Republican economics, whatever the hell that is, now he’s for it. And I can go down the line. 1994, trashing Ronald Reagan.

I mean, who is this man? Can somebody tell me WHO IS MITT ROMNEY? It’s a simple question! I don’t know! And the problem is, 75% of you don’t know either! And we want an answer! …Honest to God, I want to like the guy! Who the hell is he?! I don’t know!

And that’s the problem.

Mitt Romney is NOT a Republican. All his actions point to a moderate progressive Democrat. Is he going to shrink gov’t, control spending, get rid of Obamacare, put the country in the right direction? NOT!

Republican is now synonymous with moderate Progressive.

The Mitt Romney Record in Massachusetts:

    1. Pro-abortion with taxpayer funding (signed into law with RomneyCare in 2006, kept abortion in his plan, refused to line-item veto it).

    2. Pro-government mandated healthcare (RomneyCare has cost the state over 20,000 jobs and has actually increased the cost of healthcare in Massachusetts).

    3. Pro-government mandates in general (“I like mandates” his own words on tape).

    4. Pro-gay marriage with full state sponsorship (was first Governor to install it, earlier broke a law in his zeal to issue gay marriage licenses before it was legal to so so, then called opponents of his actions “right-wing”).

    5. Pro-transgender lifestyle education to children in public schools (promoted by Governor Romney’s administration, read Amy Contrada’s 660 page book: “Mitt Romney’s Deception” which covers Mr. Romney’s support for gay marriage and the transgender lifestyle).

    6. Pro-gay scout masters in the boy scouts (“I feel that all people should be allowed to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation.” U.S. Senate debate on Oct. 26, 1994. Massachusetts News, June 18, 2002.)

    7. Pro-global warming caused by human activity (his own words: “I believe the world is getting warmer… and I believe humans are contributing to that”).

    8. Pro-environmental regulations to combat global warming (imposed massive environmental regulations in Massachusetts, according to the Wall Street Journal: “Mr. Romney joined activists outside an aging, coal-fired plant in 2003 to show his commitment to the emissions caps. “I will not create jobs or hold jobs that kill people, and that plant, that plant kills people,” he said. On Dec. 7, 2005, the Romney administration unveiled the final orders. “These carbon emission limits will provide real and immediate progress in the battle to improve our environment,” then-Gov. Romney said in a press release touting Massachusetts as “the first and only state to set CO2 emissions limits on power plants.”).

    9. Pro-taxes on businesses (closed loopholes, then raised business taxes by 20%, a $309 million increase, as governor of Massachusetts).

    10. Pro-taxes and fees on the public (Romney raised state fees and taxes more than $740 million per year, according to independent experts. He raised fees by roughly $500 million in his first year alone, a figure that was highest in the nation. The state and local tax burden rose more than 7% during Romney’s administration, while property taxes skyrocketed by 26% under Romney the highest level in 25 years).

    11. Pro-amnesty for illegal immigrants (supports path to citizenship for illegals, his own words in 2006)

    12. Anti-second amendment (In 2004, signed gun control legislation in Massachusetts permanently banning the sale of automatic firearms).

    13. Romney declared himself a “moderate” and says his views are “progressive.” (his own words on tape).

    14. Romney opposed the Bush tax cuts, earning himself the praise of Barney Frank.

    15. Romney appointed liberal justices 75% of the time to the bench in Massachusetts, including activists for abortion rights and same-sex marriage.

    16. Under Romney’s progressive policies of increased taxation on businesses, the state of Massachusetts ranked 47th in the nation in job creation.

    After Massachusetts:

    17. Romney supported TARP

    18. Romney supported the auto industry bailouts.

    19. Romney supported the Obama stimulas when it mattered, then flip flopped and said he didn’t.

    NOT a conservative.

    NOT a moderate either.

Romney’s record is actually to the Left of most Democrats.

What Mitt Romney wants…. is power.

    It’s all he’s ever wanted.

Mitt Romney’s biological father, George ran for president – unsuccessfully.
Mitt Romney’s spiritual father, Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism, ran for president in 1844 – also unsuccessfully, because he was murdered in jail, after he was arrested for his BUSINESS and spiritual dealings.

      Notice a pattern here?

Now we have two men running for the highest office in our land, who believe they are entitled to the Presidency of these United States of America, because of their spiritual, ideological and biological fathers and for spiritual reasons and purposes.

We have seen everyone vetted well but Romney and Obama. Why?

Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. (aka Bari M. Shabazz) adopted son of B.Obama, Sr. (Muslim) and Stanley Ann Dunham, (communist, atheist) who is the biological son of Malcolm X (aka Malcolm Little, a black supremacist, Sunni Muslim convert) and biological mother was possibly Jo Ann Newman (communist, Jewish, daughter of Frank Newman, sister of Frank and Sandford Newman, cousins or friends of the Dunhams and also active as communists in US politics).

Now, if this is easily found, published online, known by many in the FBI, CIA, Congress, etc. – AGAIN WHY haven’t the authorities and the media made it known to everyone?

Why are the Congress silent while Obama spends money without constraint, oversteps or ignores the law and Constitution?

What is going on? Is this all just political drama and the real deal that Obama is going to win by hook, crook and trick, Chicago style, no matter how we vote?

Who is being real and honest with us? Who can we believe?

    • Anonymous

Spot on Matt – given a choice to vote for a Democrat or Democrat-lite, the public usually goes for the real thing. The McCain-Obama 2008 matchup is a perfect example of this. Distinct contrast against the Marxists the only way for the GOP to truly win.

  • Anonymous

If Romney becomes the nominee and is elected president, he – just like Obama – will manage the decline, and inevitable demise, of America. But instead of following the Marxist’s tactics of hurling our nation off a 90 degree angle cliff to achieve its end as quickly as possible, Romney will roll it down a 45 degree angle slope to a silent, watery death (think Chappaquidick) – completely oblivious to his complicity in the nation’s dissolution because for his entire presidential term, he will be too obsessed with facilitating and touting his ability to “compromise” with Democrats.

  • Anonymous

Levin you know who he is !! He is another Obama. Just take the time to compare the two to each other and you will know who he is.

The establishment has done a good job up til now directing the narrative about Romney, but the truth will set us free.

For instance: Bain was introduce by Romney as he was doing his Obama imitation about all the jobs that he created in the private sector, (of course failing to factor in all the jobs he destroyed). Bain was never about capitalism or free enterprise, but that is the spin that the establishment put on it and you all followed like sheep.

When Newt challenged it, the establishment continued their burnt earth attacks against Newt ( please separate Newt from Perry).

Mitt Romney also was the first to use the Obama model for campaigning in Iowa, by using his surrogate Pacs to go after Newt, (lies, half truths & exaggerations). Then in the debates he did his best Obama imitation by saying he new nothing of what was in the adds, nothing about the pacs or what they were doing. In front of the world he was “innocent”. People fell for it.

Romney Care and Obama Care are basically the same horse, but different colors.

Romney advocates getting away from Reagen and his principles. Look it up.

His rhetoric and record are 180 degrees apart, however, we are to believe that he is now the new conservative that will bring hope and change. Sounds like, looks like and walks like the person we now have in the White House.

BEWARE OF SHEEP IN WOLVES CLOTHING.

Mark, feel free to consider this while you ask the question: Who is Mitt Romney.

  • Anonymous

Even assuming that you guys and Levin are right, Levin says he’d vote for Romney or an orange juice can to boot Obama. Will you?

My fear is that a Romney presidency will do nothing but make conservatives look bad and cost us the WH in 2016, and the Congress before that.

Who here can wait until 2016 for a real conservative, and what will you say in 2015 when it’s all too clear that the same game is going down again? When does it stop, folks?

    • K-Bob

If Obamacare isn’t gone in two years, it no longer matters who’s President, or whether they like big government or not.

      • Anonymous

And Mitt sure won’t repeal it. It was based on his signature legislation.

        • K-Bob

          That’s my take, too.

Oh, he’ll say he’ll repeal it. But instead of a masterful, LBJ-style, arm-twisting of historic proportion, he’ll cave when he meets up with Olympia Snowe-job and similar Republicans who don’t really want to lose their jobs.

He’ll give a speech and say it was a well-fought battle, and some of the worst problems with Obamacare have been repaired, but repeal just isn’t going to happen, but don’t worry, Mitt’s here, and he’s gonna make everything all right.

You know that’s how it’ll go down.

    • Anonymous

Appreciate your thoughtful points, steprock. But remember that Obama is already bypassing Congressional authority and abusing his Executive Powers. He has appointed unelected czars who preside over every area of US domestic and foreign policy, enacted cap-and-trade through the EPA, went to war in Libya without going to Congress, and installed recess appointments when Congress wasn’t in recess. He is effectively engaging in an Executive power grab – all of this occurring while he is still running for a second term. Imagine what he will do in a second term – where the restraint of re-election no longer exists.

  • http://twitter.com/SahitMuja Sahit Muja

Sahit Muja: Romney Gains In Polls As Gingrich Join Obama’s Dirty Political Hits
The Rasmussen Reports in Florida, show gains for Mr. Romney. The poll showed Mr. Romney with 41 percent of the vote there, better than he has done in any prior survey of the state.
The poll also showed Mr. Gingrich’s numbers on the decline. Florida GOP Primary: Romney 41%, Gingrich 19%, Santorum 15%.
Texas Congressman Ron Paul and former Utah Governor Jon Hunstman are next with nine percent (9%) and five percent (5%) respectively.

The Gallup national tracking poll also had good results for Mr. Romney, with his moving up to 34 percent of the vote, his highest-ever standing in the national survey.
    Romney 34%, Santorum15%, Gingrich 14%, Paul, 13%

Mitt Romney is now the only candidate that a majority of conservative , moderate Democrats, Independents, liberal Republicans nationwide see as an acceptable GOP nominee for President.
Conservative Republicans and Independents are more likely to say this about Romney than about either Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum.

Mr. Gingrich is looking for dirty political hits against Romney rather than substantive criticism.
Newt Gingrich seems to be siding with the Occupy movement and President Obama for political advantage.
The “tearing apart” will occur on Newt Gingrich for his salacious personal and professional life.
Lying and cheating on 3 wives, being thrown out as Speaker by his own party.

A $300K fine for lying. Not even to mention Newt’s support for Global Warming and Cape and Trade.
Mr. Gingrich has been seen as an ultimate Washington insider, as exemplified in that $1.6 million he was paid to from Fannie.

America need a leader who will take a hard look at the budget and the economy and make decisions.
Mitt Romney would make a great President for this nation.
Mitt Romney is equipped with a great management background. He has been successful in business and as Governor of Massachusetts .
Mitt Romney’s work with our Winter Olympics is financial legend in contrast to the President’s failure to attract a future Olympiad to Chicago.

Mitt Romney have run private companies where they turned around , and Massachusetts where he balanced 4 budgets.
Mitt Romney will be the best candidate against Obama because he offers a choice.
Mitt Romney favors the private sector, Obama the public sector; Romney favors balanced budgets vs. Obama favors deficit funding.

Mitt Romney favors smaller government vs. Obama larger government.
Mitt Romney works with others who don’t agree with him vs. Obama blaming others.
Mitt Romney is a pragmatist who knows how to get things done; Obama is a ideologue who gives fantastic speeches and has great rhetoric but NO follow through.

President Obama will point his finger at the Republicans and put all the blame on them.
President Obama will try in 2012 election to weasel out of his responsibility as President of the United States
President Obama reminds me a former partner of mine. My partner was hyper-articulate, strong as steel in a meeting, but it was all an act.

The U.S. Government ran the deficit way out of control $15.23 trillion dollars.
And now Obama and Newt Gingrich are taking down people who invest, whom they consider evil “millionaires and billionaires.”

How much damage can Obama administration do though over-regulation, environmental wackoism, failure to allow production of more domestic energy, constant talk of higher taxes, incessant business bashing, ridiculous growth of government, and failure to understand capitalism and the free market?

President Obama and Newt Gingrich is utterly bankrupt in terms of political capital.
As much as President Obama and Newt Gingrich might want to revise history on record, the American people will see through the rhetoric.
This president is finished, President Obama has nothing to show for his 3 years except for economic devastation, $15.23 trillion in debt, over 50 million Americans on food stamps and 15 million unemployed Americans .
Mitt Romney to become President of the U.S.

It’s not about hating Romney, ed – it’s about good ol’ fashioned pushback against a GOP establishment crony whose policies as Mass. Gov are Democrat-blue to the core. The man is simply not a conservative, no matter how many ways the both he and the Beltway elites try to shove it down our throats. And until the last vote is cast, the true conservative GOP base will fight to prevent this man from becoming the nominee. But if, heaven forbid, he does become nominee, I assume that most of us are no Ron Paul fanatics either – because sitting at home in protest will only allow the Marxist to stay in office to complete his destruction of our nation. But as of now…the fight continues….

Mark, I don’t know who the hell Willard Mitt Romney is. The only thing I know for sure he will do anything, say anything to get this nomination. He claims he is a conservative but his record shows he is not. After I read the article about what he and McCain’s staff did 2 weeks before the 2008 election to take down Governor Palin because he wanted to be the voice of the GOP and he was not going to let Sarah Palin be the voice. This lady is very political savy and they know it. Jealous perhaps.
Mark the only real conservative with a proven record is not in this race, she happens to be a friend of yours. I wish Governor Palin was in this race, I trust her.

Great, brilliant strategy, a luke warm ‘I kinda like that Santorum guy anyway….’ Because he’s more pure than Newt and wears sweater vests. Nevermind Newt and Santorum are 99% identical on positions. Newt just has the much better experience, faster and smarter brain and whit and superb debater and can stand toe to toe against the media with 0 fear, but Santorum has the corny Mr Rogers feel so let’s go with him. Santorum is so much better because he doesn’t have the balls to attack our new Dear Leader Mittens. Shame on Newt for attacking Mittens.
As long as we keep splitting our Conservative vote 3 EFFING ways, I’m sure we will win somehow. How many states do we need to lose? Before Conservatives wake up and realize it’s too late, Mittens has been coronated. I guess less than 1 week, after S. Carolina it’s Newt or it’s over. Don’t like Newt? Ok! Enjoy Mitt.
I’m sure Gordon Gekko and his teleprompter will play well against obama. P.S. You thought Rev. Wright was controversial? Well wait till they get into the mormon stuff, I suspect the media won’t be so shy to look into Mitt’s religion, when the time is right.

This is why I like Levin… he expresses what we are thinking even before we know we are thinking it.

I ignored Romney because he didn’t say anything to me. And as a consequence, I rejected him. But the problem is, just like Levin is expressing here in his monologue, the problem is that I could never get a handle on what the heck Romney stood for. Romney engenders absolutely no clarity of position. So what do normal people do? They move on. So why are so many Republicans stuck on Romney? It’s just not normal to support Romney because Romney himself does not know what he stands for. Does this make these Romney Republicans abnormal? I suppose it does. They are a minority, but they are a big mouthed and barking minority nonetheless who are holding conservatism hostage.

To Levin… BINGO! You said it all.
