Matthews said that from the very beginning the Republican Party, the right, was trying to eliminate Obama’s presidency because of hatred. He continued that it was like the voices of secession were uniting in the South to bring Obama down even as he was being inaugurated:

It’s funny. I read a story today where Phil Griffin, head of Democrat Party propaganda network MSNBC said that they were beginning to chip away at Fox News. Ha! Not with this kind of nonsensical blather.
