Rep. Maxine Waters (CA-D) told a congregation on Sunday that the “mean spirited” Tea Party that won in 2010 wants to cut food stamps and doesn’t want to fund education. Really? I didn’t know that one of the Tea Party ‘planks’ was no more education. Wow. And as far as food stamps, no one is talking about cutting the program altogether. But we have more people on food stamps now than ever and we need to get people back to work because we simply can’t afford this growing unsustainable program. And she never mentions once that we are broke.
One thing she did get right is that we want to overturn Obamacare, but in her characterization of it she made it sound like Obamacare is something they would simply have access to, and she failed to tell them the whole truth, that they would be forced to access it, to purchase health care.
Toward the end Waters once again smears the Tea Party, this time playing playing the race card by saying they are coming after her in DC because she’s ‘trying to help poor people and people of color’. How ludicrous. Can’t even give one little speech without playing the race card.
