Please let me translate the Water’s rant into Free Market American, to show what this corrupt commie is really trying to say. It may make more sense.
They (progressive democrats) want to “save” our country by indebting us beyond repair, by overburdening the system, by changing us into a socialist state and by subjugating the entire population to the point of controlling every aspect of our lives. They also seek to force as many people as possible onto the welfare rolls while forcing the working poor to pay higher prices for food and energy while at the same time limiting our nation’s ability to get energy. This will force many, many more onto food stamps, welfare and the like. It’s a vicious cycle.
We (conservatives) on the other hand, want to “destroy” our nation by getting it’s fiscal house in order, by paying out less than we take in, by restoring individual freedom and by rolling back endless regulations which are strangling our businesses, by building pipelines that will be full of oil, and by lifting the moratorium on drilling for our own energy in our own country. We want to restore freedom by repealing the healthcare law containing 18 new taxes and freedom squashing mandates that we all know will be ever-encroaching on our personal liberty. We also want to repeal Dodd-Frank which is killing small banks and giving those that are too big to fail even less competition.
So, we want to kill the country by saving it and they want to save it by killing it. Get it? Oh, you knew this already? Of course, we Tea Partiers should still “go to Hell” as Maxine said previously. Maxine should simply settle for prison time, along with Holder, Corzine and many others.
Have you ever tried to seriously bear false witness against someone? Have you ever tried to blame someone else for what you yourself had done? Ever stolen something and slipped the stolen item into your innocent enemy’s pocket? No? Neither have I! To progressives though, this type of activity is a mainstay, i.e., par for the course. If they had their own ten commandments one of them would read, “Thou must bear false witness against your political opponents.”

I like the constructive posts some have made under different news items. But the comments here (no disrespect intended) sound like children on a playground ‘I know you are, but what am I.’ As some condemn Ms. Waters they do the same thing. Why demonize others? Why not break down her augments with some constructive criticism. I believe that all of us are basically good. We were created by God and infused with his qualities, so we are capable of much more than we are. It comes out at times, during natural or man-made disasters; it is touching to see how people really care for one another. I admire altruistic people who forgo riches and fame to care for the poor in other countries (I did some of this myself before children and it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done).
I do not classify myself as a liberal or a conservative, I am not in any party, in fact I have never voted in my life, I feel I have already chosen my leader. I am trying to have the mind of Christ, which is not easy in these times. (1Peter 2:21) We are truly in the last days (2 Timothy 3:1-5) Read a newspaper, any newspaper and you will find elements of those things mentioned in Timothy, every day.
Being neutral puts one in a unique advantage; it’s like being above the fray. I can converse without hatred with people of differing political points of view. You see that people are not evil; they care deeply in differing ways. I think that there is a measure of truth in every argument; it is just many try to force that truth to fit or agree with something they believe. For instance, a woman does have the right to make decisions concerning her body; some use that truth to say that she can abort a baby growing in her body. Or the truth that each person is responsible for the decisions they make. But does this absolve us of our responsibility towards our fellow man.
Politics muddies those truths and vilifies those who may differ. They are like fanatics, you know the guys that will paint their faces or where no shirt in zero degree weather, they will even yell or insult another person who is wearing the jersey of another team. They will even pick fights with opposing fans. They cheer (maybe inwardly) when the opposing quarterback is put out of the game. Doesn’t this describe politics well? A neutral person is able to see this.
So when people vilify or demonize Obama or Bush, of course the other side will not listen. These are two men (power hungry maybe) who care about their country and are leading it in the direction they believe is best. Obama or Bush is not the Anti-Christ, if you read the Bible the ant-Christ is not one man it could be millions of people who are anti Christ.
I have been listening to both parties for decades and they are both hypocritical. They will complain about some policy that the party in power is doing and remain silent when their party in power is doing the same thing. It really is comical sometimes. I know there are tapes of Rush Limbaugh ranting against Clinton for something he became about silent when Bush was doing it and then ranting again when Obama is doing it. Both parties do this constantly. It is a farce. It is why Christians have no business being involved in this muck.
When a Christian gets involve they have to lie or distort or fudge facts and they have support a person of questionable character or defend them because they are in the party. They start to vilify other or call names or shout abuses, all of these things the Bible forbids Christians to do (Ephesians 4:31, 32). This is certainly not having the mind of Christ. (Galatians 5:14, 15).
Christianity is supposed to transcend politics, race, language and nationality (Isa 2:1-4). It must do this because Christianity was supposed to be a worldwide brotherhood. Instead of bickering about the conditions on the Titanic, Christians should be urging folks to get into the lifeboats (1Timothy 2:3, 4). To mix in with the world places one in opposition with God (James 4:4).

America’s founding father’s took matters into their own hands, reviling and revolting against the higher powers. The anarchy of America’s founding father’s violates the philosophy of nearly every pastor and Bible-scholar today, who teach that Christians ought to unquestioningly submit to government.
Hypocritically, these same religious leaders heartily enjoy freedoms which were secured only through bloodshed inflicted by rebellion and revolt against the abuse and tyranny of the higher powers (i.e., England). Freedom isn’t free!!!

I went to the website and read the arguments presented there. Quite convincing for someone not familiar with scripture and history. Romans 13:1-4 is the fall back verses many who want to justify their participation in the world’s affairs use. However no where, first of all, does it tell christian to get involve in politics and war. It only tells them to be in subjection, this in no way says get involved. I challenge you to tell me where it says so. Romans 13:7 says “Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.” Jesus also says this ‘Pay back Caesars things to Caesars and God’s things to God.’
In fact these verses actually stand against the Founding Fathers since they revolted against the existing government (Romans 13:2). Consider: was the regime of Saddam Husein really placed there by God? What about Iran and North Korea are they really God’s servants? (Romans 13:4, 6) If you are using this as the basis for your argument then you have an even bigger problem to resolve.
First, Christians should be the most lawabiding citizen of any country. Honestly paying taxes and showing honor to the government and it’s officers. That, is paying Caesars things to Caesars. Now when Caesar demands things that belong to God like worship and allegiance, then a christian would say ‘we must obey God as ruler rather then men,’ (Acts 5:29) yes then a christian would respectfully pay God’s things to God, refusing to obey Caesar. That is why the Apostles were beaten and some of them killed.
I think some get hung up on the word servant, that the governments are God’s servants. Read Jeremiah 25:9 there God calls the King of Babylon, my servant. No Nebuchadrezzar was not a worshiper of God, no God used him or allowed his army to punish his wayward people. Later God punished Babylon for its cruelty and wickedness.
The nations today bring a measure of (relative) stability to the world. The Romans built roads and maintained order and this allowed christ decisples to use those roads and benefit from order to preach the message of the Kingdom to the nations. The Romans did not worship God, in fact they persecuted God’s people. So today there is relative stability which again allows God’s servants to preach to the ends of the earth. However from time to time governments demand of Christian what they can only give to God and thus they are persecuted. (Ephesians 4:17) When they see what good citizen they are sometimes they are left alone (1Peter 2:12).
But make no mistake, the nations do not serve God, in fact they are all (all of the governments) are in opposition to God. Revelations 16:13-16 shows that the war of Armaggedon is not a war among the nations, it is a war that has all the kings (governments) of the earth on on side against God. So how are they his servants?
History shows that those Christian that lived closet to the time of Christ did not get involve in the governments. Look it up.

From The March of Civilization, Ancient and Medieval World by Jesse E. Wrench, Professor of History, University of Missouri, p.205: “The Christians refused to show their loyalty by burning incense to the emperor. Being men of peace, they would not serve in the Roman armies.” (2 Cor. 10:3,4 I added this scripture).
From History of Christianity by E. Gibbon, pp.162,163: “They refused to take any active part in the civil administration or the military defence of the empire. It was impossible that the Christians, without renouncing a more sacred duty, could assume the character of soldiers, of magistrates, or of princes.”
Now later the predicted apsotasy set in. (Acts 20:29, 1Timothy 4:1-5, 2Thessalonians 2:7) So false Christians began to adopt pagan pactices and holidays, they began to mix in politics and hold office and fight in wars. Today Chritianity is a turn off to many as they look a the filthy and disgusting things so called christian religions have done. No wonder liberals fight against the religious right, who wants to see a return to the days when the so called chritian religion ruled the world (by the way it was called the Dark Ages). Felix, Festus, King Herod Agrippa II. He also witnessed to those of Caeser’s own household, being released from his chains by Nero himself.
He was ordered to not preach in the name of Jesus but he did anyway. That’s called civil disobedience. What Christ, Paul and the other apostles did changed the world dramatically for the betterment of mankind. All of the apostles save John the Beloved died working in opposition to the orders and wishes of Rome. They voted with their feet, their actions and with their very lives.
Compared to these, you are nothing and neither am I. You have no voice at all with governors, presidents, senators and the like. You are like the cursed fig tree. Worthless. Please, it is not meant to impress anyone. I want to back up what I am saying. All christian should do that, otherwise we are just talking. I could say I am a a millionaire, talk is easy, what evidence shows that what I say is true. If we just talk without the backing of scripture than anything goes. We can justify anything or reason anything to make it sound OK. Read the scripture that is more important than anything I say. When someone tells me what they believe I want to see the backing of scripture, wouldn’t you?

To come on here and quote scripture and tell us we should just sit this out and not be involved when the stakes are so high? Amy, in the sincerest respect, all I am saying is that what I have said is on the table with the backing of scripture, anyone can take those scriptures and show where it is wrong. I sincerely believe what I wrote, I have studied the bible for decades and been in more debates (most never hostile) than comments in this article with every denomination I can think of. I just want people to think about these things. Read the scriptures, look at the history it is there in black and white.
