IF THE GOP WAS SMART THEY WOULD GET BEHIND JD HAYWORTH. SEN MCCAIN IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROGRESSIVES IN WASHINGTON. I KNOW IM FROM AZ AND DONT APPRECIATE HIS BIG SPENDING HABITS, SIDING WITH THE DEMOCRATES TOO MANY TIMES, NOT BEING HONEST WITH ARIZONA VOTERS. IVE LISTENED TO JD RADIO SHOW AND TEND TO SIDE WITH HIM IMMIGRATION REFORM, PHYSICAL SPENDING, TAX REFORM AS DO MANY OTHER CONSERVITIVE FIGURES IN AZ. MCCAIN HAS BEEN IN WASHINGTON TO LONG. I REALLY DONT CARE IF PALIN IS BACKING MCCAIN. I HONESTLY DONT THINK PALIN HAS A CHANCE WITH THE GOP IN 2012 AS DOES ROMINI WHO I FEEL IS AS PROGRESSIVE AS MCCAIN. I FOR ONE DONT CARE IF JD WANTS TO QUESTION OBAMAS BIRTH RECORDS. WHEN HAS IT BECOME UNAMERICAN TO QUESTION IT OR DO YOU THINK THAT ALL BIRTHERS ARE RACIST JUST BECAUSE HE IS A BLACK MAN AND THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT. THATS HOGWASH
- lifelongrepublican
Sarah Palin has publicly supported McCain over JD. Whoever wins will be fine, because they are both Republicans, and both vocal supporters of Israel and both vocal supporters of war. So either way, we are in good hands.
- Tyler
Well, when you've got McCain who's voted for measures that are bankrupting our country right now…that's NOT GOOD HANDS.
Being a supporter of Isarael and a supporter of wars (that are necessary) is fine also…but America's ECONOMIC DECLINE…THAT is a MUCH bigger threat than terrorism right now.
I don't live in Arizona, but it SEEMS like Hayworth's the better guy. He's able to more clearly explain himself and doesn't have anything to hide from the looks of it.
MAYBE if I looked into it more, he'd be just as bad if not worse than McCain…but I dunno.
I don't exactly buy Sarah Palin's “rogue patriot” image either. “I'm a hockey mom from Alaska and I'm a Christian.” You can SAY whatever you want…our CURRENT president's PROVEN THAT.

Haywood is an old-guard, take-money-from-corrupt-lobbiests and vote-for-unfunded expansions-of-Medicaid-that-even-John-McCain-votes-against type of conservative.
McCain, on the other hand, votes against unfunded expansions of Medicaid (ie Part D) and doesn't waste money on corrupt earmarks.
Furthermore, Hayworth makes pointless and stupid comments about Obama's Hawaii birth certificate that has already been posted online and shown to newspapers and widely available for anyone to seen.
Hayworth is essentially a Democrat, because his whole election strategy is to support socialism by losing in the general election, because he runs an inept campaign and questions Obama's birth.
- Tyler
I guess the “lesser of two evils” can apply WITHIN THE R. Do you accept the guy who voted for Medicaid expansion…OR…the guy who voted for the TARP SLUSH FUND…oh…and APPARENTLY is EASILY DUPED despite everyone else saying that was a LIE?
- Desert Gardens
McCain needs to come home. He went negative on J.D. BEFORE J.D. even announced. It's the only thing he can do given his spotty conservative record.
McCain: Opposed Bush's tax cuts, lead Gang of 14 in opposition to Bush, co-sponsored McCain-Feingold (later decalred UNCONSTITUTIONAL by the SCOTUS), co-sponsored McCain-Kenneday (attempt at amnesty for illegals), he believes in AGW, and is for Cap and Trade legislation, he supports the closing of Gitmo and considers waterboarding “torture,” he voted for TARP, bailed out AIG, bailed out the auto industry, and supported Janet Napolitano for the Department of Homeland Security.
Lastly, he seems to have no problem going negative against those in his own party, but refused to have even half the energy to oppose Barack Obama during his presidential run.
There's no way I'm voting for him again.
- cubachi
Good points! I would also add, now that you reminded me, McCain also voted to confirm Eric Holder to Attorney General. A man who is no friend of Israel and America.
Holder would defend a terrorist, before he defends the CIA, our soldiers, and this country. - therightscoop
voting in Eric Holder was one of those mavericky mccain moments making everyone miserable in the conservative movement.

Did You Notice…?
In the McCain deceptive political ad, it ridiculed J.D. Hayworth by falsely denigrating Berg and Taitz WITHOUT definition, with the intent of implying that constitutionalists are in error to insist that the request for citizenship verification is kooky.
Is that dumb, or what?
How dumb is that?If it is kooky to insist that Obama's citizenship be established retroactively for 2008 or proactively for 2012, then why did McCain kow tow to the Obamabots in the drive by media when they vociferously DEMANDED that McCain PROVE his U.S. citizenship because he was born in the Suez Canal when his Navy Admiral father was stationed there… even though BOTH of McCain's parents were acknowledged to be U.S. citizens?
McCain complied, respectfully, with the demand to prove his citizenship and the Obamabots slithered away.
Obama has NOT complied, $1.7 million paid to lawyers to resist compliance in court is NOT respectful, and the web site certification of birth does not have the identifying names of the doctor and other pertinent data.
McCain needs a friendly pat on the back and a firm grip to the shoulder moving him to the exit.
It is time that Arizona elect a constitutionalist like J.D. Hayworth to the U.S. Senate and publically denounce the progressivism Teddy Roosevelt and McCain.

Did You Notice…? 2
Clarification in the 1st sentence…
“… the request for citizenship verification is kooky. ” should read,
“… the request for citizenship verification is sensible and NOT kooky.” - Anthonysmith
The birther arguement is a non-starter, it's a losing strategy that was started by a couple of lib operatives, Linda Starr and Philip Berg. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/lachlan-markay/201…

“I guess the birther thing is pretty big in Arizona.”
Nope. Wrong guess. The Constitution is big in Arizona!

You do know that the so-called birth certificate posted online is not a certified birth certificate but a certificate of live birth. I am not a birther but there is a difference. His actual certified birth certificate like his school records, passport, etc remain hidden. It really is irrelevant & we are stuck with him so I don't think it makes a difference (hence I am not a birther) but let's stick to facts.

Cutting Spending
Reducing the Size of Government
Protecting our CountryWell one out of three isn't bad….
I don't live in AZ anymore but if I did I would definitely be voting for Hayworth. I'd like to see Jeff Flake run as a senator as well.
- seethruaz
Hayworth's support of Bush's big-government polices included voting for the No Child Left Behind Act.. the paperwork-and red-tape-friendly (and business-unfriendly) Sarbanes-Oxley Act.. the pork-laden 2005 highway bill that included the infamous “bridge to nowhere”.. and the most expensive of all- a medicare drug benefit that created more than $7 trillion in unfunded liabilities. Keep McCain to close loopholes.

This will NOT be a race. JD is a blowhard
- brianlin
There is NO way you could tell most people to get behind JD and not get a snicker. This guy is surrounded by controversy, poor decisions made in Congress, he is NOT the most conservative fiscally btwn the two when in COngress, JD is NOT respected in congress, he has a poor reputation of being dumb, being a drinker and a blowhard. There is no more room in Washington for corruption like JD
- topcatradio
I have listened to JD Hayworth, here in Phoenix, Az on the radio for almost 3 years. He will make a 1000% better senator than progressive, Cap & Trade and Pro-illegal John McCain. I am not a member of either political party. I and my fellow Tea Party Members support candiates, not parties. Remember one thing, John McCain and the Republicans helped Obama become president by not exposing him for the Socialist-Communist he was during the 2008 campaign.
- topcatradio
There is still some question about Obama not being a natural born US Citizen. The paper I saw on the Obama Website was a record of live birth. This is not and I will repeat a birth certificate. My brother has the same type birth record as Obama and he tried to get a passport. They would not take the live birth paper. He had to write for his real birth certificate.
We tea party members, here in Arizona are going to elect conservative JD Hayworth as our next senator. - topcatradio
I live in Arizona and didn't realize that I and many of my Tea Party Member friends are just a bunch of dumb crackers for supporting JD Hayworth. He is going to be the next US Senator from Arizona and he will be a 1000% better senator than John McCain. Just remember, one thing, John McCain and the republicans are one of the reasons Obama is now president. They would not run a hard hitting campaign exposing Obama for the socialist-communist he is. I am an independent and support candiates and not parties.

The Arizona US Senate race is building up to be the most important battle for the heart and soul of the GOP.
Senator John McCain represents the old guard of the GOP. A moderate/liberal who at every turn will stick his finger at the eye of conservatives, and JD Hayworth a stalwart conservative who side with our conservative cause almost all the time.
Recently, Sen. McCain released a new ad called “Identity.” The ad starts off with a sentence about the “serious economic times” we’re in. Just a sentence. Afterwards, it becomes a vicious campaign attack ad against J.D. Hayworth calling him a “birther” on the scale of Orly Taitz and Philip Berg.
But I’m not going to whitewash Hayworth’s flirtation with the birther movement. He did equate identity theft with the need to prove birth credentials. Which is pretty outrageous.
However yesterday, news came in that 40 state legislators in Arizona want Obama to produce a birth certificate. I guess the birther thing is pretty big in Arizona. Nevertheless, it is a silly thing to link your name to, and it will only marginalize you to that fringe element.
Luckily, he came off the gravy train quick and said:
“Barack Obama is the president of the United States. He is our 44th president,” Hayworth told Brown. “I have no qualms about who he is, or who he says he is.”
He even called Erick Erickson of RedState to definitively put that false rumor perpetuated by the McCain campaign to rest. His explanation was enough for Erick Erickson to believe Hayworth.
But let’s get back to the McCain ad. The narrator claims “John McCain: Reducing the size of government, cutting spending, growing jobs.”
In fact, in an interview with George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning American several weeks ago, McCain said:
“If you cut people’s taxes, I think, then it stimulates the economy. We certainly found that out during President Reagan.”
How disingenuous. In 1994 McCain said this about Reagan’s tax cuts after the GOP got control of Congress with the promise of tax cuts:
“I think we would be making a terrible mistake to go back to the ’80s, where we cut all of those taxes and all of a sudden now we’ve got a debt that we’ve got to pay on an annual basis that is bigger than the amount that we spend on defense.”
McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 and said this:
“Most of the economists view this as primarily benefiting wealthier Americans,” McCain said on CNBC at the time. “There’s a theory, I think, that’s prevalent — it was true in the 2001 tax cuts — that if you give it to the wealthy people, then they will then, you know, create jobs, et cetera. The interesting thing to me is that most economists will tell you that it’s the middle-income Americans that have been keeping the economy afloat.”
And let us not forget McCain’s vote for TARP which expanded government, earmark spending, and increased government. And proposed $300 billion to buy up every bad mortgage in America. There is also McCain-Feingold bill that infringed upon our constitutional right to free speech, the gang of 14, amnesty, auto bailouts, etc.
J.D. Hayworth helped write the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 and was McCain’s fiercest opponent against the Kennedy-McCain amnesty bill.
Here are McCain’s ratings with conservative groups on election years and non-election years. The non-election years is when McCain becomes “mavericky.”
Here is J.D. Hayworth’s record with conservative groups such as the ACU: 98%.
Notice the difference?
Here is an interview with J.D. Hayworth this morning on a local NBC network in Arizona answering McCain’s attacks and his own legislative record. I’ll let you decide if you want a proven adversary or an ally in the US Senate.
