Maybe! I'm not all in for Perry yet. He looks pretty good so far but we have a long way to go.

I'm glad Bachmann is in the race because she isn't afraid to say many things the others are leaving alone but I don't want someone as president who's only served as a Representative. We need a governor, they have the managerial experience needed for an executive post like the presidency.
las1 - I realize you like her - and she's very likeable actually - and she talks it good - and she's raised some eyebrows on the Hill... But we can't mess around with someone that's just cutting her teeth on the liberty message.
We need an experienced leader with an existing honorable track record that not only knows what he/she is talking about - but has lived it.
Like Glenn has said - everyone can have a turning point and can usually point to and identify it as that. She's got a lot of baggage - AND hasn't marked that turning point yet.
Michelle:
Doesn't walk the talk
foster children = goverment check!
Farm subsidies = goverment check!
fake gay to straight clinic = Goverment check!
current Job in washington = goverment check!
5 year stint representing the IRS = Goverment check!!!
She's just another representative of the problem.
That is such BS.
Successful entrepreneurs like the Bachmanns don't raise children for the cash.
Farmers are like any business, they compete! If the money's there take it. Like you wouldn't? That's why government subsidies warp the market. Once they're offered they will be used by everyone to stay in the game. Same with illegal alien enforcement. Once they let some companies slide everyone's under pressure to cheat.
Many of the best tax lawyers did stints with the IRS. Just like many defense lawyers worked for the DA at one time. Experience. Again you'd have too much principle for that, right?
As for the clinic, if you've swallowed the load about gays being born that way then your understanding of psychology, biology and genetics is too low to debate with. When you've figured out how natural selection allows a persistent genetic mutation in the human gene pool resulting in the psychological inability to breed I'd like to hear it.
Government should fight should be for individual (property and freedom) rights - not group rights. Farmers are a group. Gay/Les and cronies - groups. It is the tendency of all governments to take from individuals and give to groups.
RCL - are principles important - even when compensation is involved?

You actually want her to not get paid for being a congresswoman? You fault her for fostering children? Quite frankly, I don't even care if she got farm subsidies because that's the way the system is currently set up. You don't have to be in favor of our current tax code in order to use it to your advantage.
Bachmann doesn't walk the talk.
Bachmann and her family have benefited personally from government aid, an examination of her record and finances shows. A counseling clinic run by her husband has received nearly $30,000 from the state ofMinnesota in the last five years, money that in part came from the federal government. A family farm in Wisconsin, in which the congresswoman is a partner, received nearly $260,000 in federal farm subsidies.
And she has sought to keep federal money flowing to her constituents. After publicly criticizing the Obama administration's stimulus program, Bachmann requested stimulus funds to support projects in her district.

Bachmann has always been about pursuing a social conservative agenda , not a fiscal conservative agenda.
If said representative was truly acting morally, said representative would be doing everything within their authority to take back their enumerated powers from the executive.
Morally -the representative should get as much of the unlawfully confiscated funds back into their district as they can. If the confiscated funds are not appropriated - the unused funds are re-purposed as discretionary spending for the executive branch. As much as possible, the congress should use the represented funds before being released to the treasury (executive branch).
When the federal government tells you they are going to tax you X amount and you will get back Y amount OR they will tax you X amount and you can refuse Y amount back WHICH ONE do you want YOUR representative to do on your behalf???
Get real and quit grandstanding on something you don't even understand. You make all of us look stupid.
You should care. The picture of the man on your Avatar would very much care.
Actually - I'd prefer the elected reps to get paid more than they do now so that they'd be less susceptible to corruption.
1. It's wrong to take something from someone by force and give it to someone else. (Jefferson - government is force.)
2. Farm subsidies fall under that - rampant corruption throughout the whole system.
3. Foster program - rampant corruption - abuse of children everywhere. Needs to go back to the charities and churches.
4. Clinic - see point one (and Davy Crockett vs. Welfare)

5. IRS - see point one.
She currently represents herself as having no problem with any of this.
The problem they all face is that all the candidates will be saying the same core thing: we must stop spending money we don't have.
Each candidate must find ways to stand out and make their campaign unique.
