Juan Williams tries to defend Obama’s new position on gay marriage by suggesting that Obama has grown and is simply reflecting the popular sentiment in the country. But Michelle Malkin is not letting him get away with that logic by pointing out that in 32 states that had a referendum on gay marriage, they all voted against it.
What gets me is that Juan’s response was to bring up a Pew poll that he said suggested that 50% of Americans were for gay marriage. But that’s a poll with a margin of error. We only care about polls when we don’t have actual votes. What Michelle brought up was actual votes made by actual people casting actual ballots and disapproving of gay marriage en masse.
Juan also tried to suggest that Obama’s new position was better than Romney’s because Obama wants to leave it up to the states where Romney is in favor of a federal marriage amendment. But once again Malkin hits back at the disingenuousness of that convenient argument by pointing out a few of the issues like voter-ID and immigration enforcement where Obama tries to assert federal power and fights the states, even sues them.
Another great win for Malkin in my book:
