Today is the big day for Right to Work legislation in Michigan, giving workers the right to choose their union/non-union fate rather than have it determined for them. Not sure what time the vote happens, but it should be later this evening. Right now there are large protests at the Capitol.

Here’s CNN’s report on it (h/t: Hotair)

Steven Crowder is on the ground in Lansing and apparently it’s gotten a little tense up there, shall we say:

I’ll be posting that video whenever he releases it.

P.S. I will be out early afternoon for a while. But I should be back around 2:30/3PM.

There is good news also in Illinois, where the 7th US Court of Appeals has struck down a ban on Illinois conceal-carry (good thing it wasn't the 9th Court of Appeals). The state legislature has 6 months to formulate a conceal-carry law with 'reasonable limitations'. There are a couple of cases still pending in the courts, so they may use their format to construct the law by January.

Is it just me, or does it seem like things are back-firing on this administration and their overspending, gun-hating, Union-loving lackeys?

It isn't just you! I saw this on Twitter and before I could post, saw K-Bob's post!!!!

Wow, I haven't seen any lib trolls yet defending this garbage.

I have lived in Michigan my whole life and I could not be happier about this. When the unions pushed to have collective bargaining added to our state constitution, our Governor fought it and won. I will be righting a letter to Gov Snyder today to keep up the good work! I will be voting against any recall efforts directed towards Snyder.

Stupid union goons. No one is taking away their damn rights. Michigan is only listening to the voice of the people. The rejected the unions referendum and now they want to impose their will by force. Nonsense.

Its been signed by the GOV.

woo hoo.

Show me a union member and I will show you a communist.

Three cheers for Michigan for having the courage to NOT follow California down the road to destruction. California is bankrupt due to the unions and Gray Davis selling us out to them. It is why he was recalled. It was too little too late though since there is a mass exodus of conservatives leaving the state. Doesn't help that California Republican Party is RINO either. They could have been a bulwark against the left but instead chose to march with them.

One word: Detroit.

Listen to what's being argued against in the video:

"Workers would not have to pay union dues on the condition of having a job. That means everyone from teachers to auto workers to mechanics can choose whether they want to join a union or not."

THE HORROR!

Can we just begin deportation of liberal fanatics now, or do we have to wait for the inevitable civil war first?

Yes please! We need to bring our men and women home from the Middle East and start replacing them with untrained, unarmed, Barky Boy unionbots. And no time like the present.

Did I miss something? I thought this already past the other day? What is this vote for?

The Senate voted on a slightly tweaked, more encompassing bill that the House of Reps had to agree with today, which they quickly did. It's the better of the two for our side. It's supposed to go to the Governor now.

There's some other hold up we are not sure of yet...

It appears that the last step is one more reconciling between house and senate so that public and private unions, with the exception of fire and police will all be included in final passage for Governor to sign.

Oh, OK, got it.

Uh oh Jesseeeeee Jacksooooooon is there that means it's about to become racial to oppose the union slave masters.

Yeah. Pimps hate it when the people they bully decide to fight back.

Come on, Pennsylvania! Get with the program. We need right to work here, too! I can't stand the flaming metal trash bins during the "peaceful union contract negotiation period" at my employer. I am so glad my job is non-union.

What is the makeup of Pennsylvania's state government? Do the Republicans control the legislature?

The notions of scale in this video are very interesting. They make the point that our Republic will not scale but I do not necessarily agree - the concept is correct but the implementation needs to adjust.

Hard to tell where they are going in Parts 2 and 3 but I believe centralized Collectivism will rapidly collapse, even faster. The direction needs to be toward State sovereignty. I also believe that the 17th Amendment was a great contributor to this problem. If the States controlled Senators as intended, then the states would have been moving away from centralization.

I'd like to remind everyone just how this anarchy worked out for the organized thugs in Wisconsin. It put a face on the extreme left agenda. It's taking place again here in Michigan. I grew up there...what a shame.

Just saw a tweet from Michigan Speaker of the house that the MI House just passed SB116 final vote was 58-52. That's the Freedom to Work bill for workers deciding on private unions.

Union workers assault camera men, tear down 'right to work' tent, trample it with people inside. Thugs will be thugs, right?

Ace had a story on top a few minutes ago with a report that a Dem legislator said:

I hope people are armed! That has a way of making union bullies change their minds. Even if they also have guns they will have a tendency to think twice if they beleive that arm could come to them also.

I can proudly state that I am a certified union hater.

I can proudly state the I never worked for any union.

Me too on that entire list and, quite frankly, I think it's time to start meeting violence with focused, restrained violence. For instance, that dude with the knife? I would have attempted to stick it where the sun don't shine sideways.

tinlizzieowner

Mike, that's exactly what the Obama 'machine' wants. Then he can institute a 'state of emergency', suspend the Constitution and declare martial law.

Do I have a better solution? No, I wish I did. :-(

Barky Boy will declare martial law anyway. He will have his followers riot against each other if need be.

I agree 100% with every word of that. And their reason, whether ignorance or maliciousness, matters not at all. Only the damage done matters.

Have faith.

tinlizzieowner
tinlizzieowner

I agree completely. The pendulum has swung just about as far to the left as it can. It's only a matter of time but...... it's still only a matter of how much damage the Obama 'machine' can do to the Republic in that time too.

People here keep saying that Obama and his cronies 'are stupid', that's a fatal mistake. Stupid, no. Insidious (having a gradual and cumulative effect), yes.

MiketheMarine
MiketheMarine

Just remember, anything like martial law that he may "declare" must be carried out by others. I have faith in all of my brothers and sisters in arms.

He'd have trouble making it stick.

Stick with us, Friend. We will win this. Eventually, no matter the cost, we will be victorious.

tinlizzieowner
tinlizzieowner

I'm familiar with it, Mike. I just don't put anything past what the Obama 'machine' is capable of.

MiketheMarine

Martial law is only as effective as the police that will enforce it. Do yourself a favor and google "Oathkeepers." You may find a little something to restore some of your faith. There are more of us that respect and honor the Constitution than those against it. We are the silent majority. Really, google it and you'll feel better.
