Andrew Buikema is a school teacher in Michigan and a member of the NEA. Earlier this week, the NEA endorsed President Obama for re-election in 2012 (shocking, I know) and subsequently increased annual dues by $10. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Buikema, who does not support Obama and is obviously not happy with the way his dues are being used.
Here’s hoping this is the beginning of a long-overdue uprising among other rank-and-file union members out there who don’t appreciate it when their dues money gets funneled toward political causes they do not necessarily support.
